The main ideas from this information are: - It is important to have a plan to assess someone's fitness. - Fitness testing can provide valuable information about an individual's capacity and limits. - Strength and conditioning coaches can learn from the European model and assess where they may be falling short in their training methods. - The capacity of a system can greatly impact training effectiveness. - It is recommended to visit the website and become a member to access more resources and information. - There will be a recommended fitness test on the website. - This information is part of the PH curriculum. That was an incredibly dense episode. Big take-homes we want you guys to think about when we're thinking about fitness testing is, one, do it. Have a plan to assess someone's fitness, and if you're working with these more anaerobic team sports, and we all know the time constraints we have as well as the other biomotor abilities in terms of force and velocity we have to develop, you can probably get a lot more from those force and velocity workouts by getting into this capacity assessment. We can know upper limits, we can know thresholds, we can know when we reach these intensity parameters because we know what we can recover from more effectively. So fitness testing is a big, I think, step that we all need to take as strength and conditioning coaches. We have a lot to learn from some of our counterparts in more of this European model, but also too we can look at an inventory of where do we come up short in our actual intra-training from a rep or a set integrity? Where do we come up short from a microcycle design or even looking at it from a mesocycle design? And then looking at the capacity of a system is probably going to have a big influence in that. So a lot to unpack, a lot to really dive into. Definitely get on the actual website, become a member of the curriculum so you can see all of the transcripts and all of the suggested material as well as the video format of this because I think it will help in terms of Eric and going through some of the stuff he went through. And I will actually put the actual test that Eric recommended to do on the website as well. So another really good value add by becoming a member of the PH curriculum. Hope you guys enjoy and we'll see you guys next week.
