The DJ describes how prevalent The Notebook is in today's American society if you close your eyes.
The speaker reflects on the Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes affair, discussing the sexual revolution and how society fought for sexual freedom. They argue that skin color shouldn't matter when it comes to relationships, and that adultery has been replaced with the word "romance." The speaker believes that the end goal should be marriage and that love should prevail over prejudice. They mention that even if it doesn't end in marriage, society should still support the relationship. The speaker concludes by mentioning a song that relates to the situation and thanks the audience for watching. My take on the Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes affair. America spent more than 50 years, led by Disney perhaps anyway, which they call themselves now, with the sexual revolution. A whole lot of years working for that freedom to do whatever you want sexually. Forget the skin color here. Everyone, mostly, wanted their freedom. The whole movement took place. So you could escape being labeled for your sexual freedom. You know, adultery. And a whole lot of movies were made. The most famous one of them all today, The Notebook. The ultimate chick flick. Romance, that word. Adultery was replaced with the word romance. So, you mean to tell me today, if you didn't know the skin color of the participants, you would bat an eye at it, let alone think about it? And yet, you do know the optic in this case, and therefore, the word adultery returns. The endgame here should be marriage, if they love each other. As one famous actor said, life is messy. But, you should be seeking marriage, and if you take all these other aspects out of it that have a lot to do with prejudice, chances are, that's where they'll end up. Married, because they really love each other. And even if it doesn't end up that way, we should do it anyway. This happens every day in this country. Every day. But somehow it's different here. As a certain artist wrote in a song, that really is legendary now, honesty is such a lonely word. Anyway, your DJ here, is going to present a song, quite appropriate to the situation. Enjoy this rendition of The Notebook. Thanks for watching!
