A person reflects on the growth of a girl who went from being a lively child in the palace to a brave woman fighting with them in tunnels. The girl only used the magical power of the Wellspring out of duty to her people, which has taken a toll on her. The person regrets thinking they could help her and takes responsibility for the situation. Enough! I watched that girl grow from a screaming little thing running about the palace halls to the young woman that fought and bled in those tunnels alongside us. She had no want or need for the Wellspring's magic. It was duty to her people that made her claim its power, leaving her as the broken husk of a woman she's become. I had hoped that I might help her in some way, but I realize now that was folly. And for that, the blame lies with me.
