The conversation between Vanessa and Susanna revolves around social media, privacy concerns, career aspirations, and online shopping. Susanna shares that her upbringing and her father's IT background made her aware of digital footprints and privacy issues. She expresses an interest in working in communications, particularly in journalism or other forms of media. They also discuss the importance of being cautious with online purchases, as well as concerns about the security of platforms like TikTok and Facebook Marketplace. They conclude by acknowledging the need for government regulation to ensure that companies adhere to safety measures. I'm Vanessa Shimony here with Susanna Coyle today. So we're just going to be talking about social media, audits, logos, privacy in terms of social media and all that kind of stuff. So... I think it's a little bit of both. One, because my dad works in IT, so he was always letting me know about digital footprint and like privacy concerns and things like that online. And, well, I wasn't like the most like extroverted kid, so I also wasn't eager to like post things or like comment all the time. Right. No, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. That's definitely an advantage for you to have growing up so that you kind of have a more wise approach towards that kind of stuff. And then... I'm not really completely sure what my dream target job is yet, but I know I do want to work in like communications. So my hopes were that like a paper plane, which like paper, like you write on, you communicate things, like sending it out, sending it somewhere else. And maybe I could be like, I don't know, that paper plane for someone, like giving them the message as like I'm going into journalism. So maybe that or other types of communication. Oh, OK. Yeah, I'm still open to exploring. Like I'm interested in like the writing aspect, also the broadcasting aspect and like even like audio and visual things. So I'm still looking to find out. Definitely. I think like a lot of like the saving passwords and like credit card numbers, I would definitely just start not having them saved in the website and just entering the numbers in manually when I make a purchase instead of just like keeping and storing all that information there. Or, you know, TikTok has a shop, Facebook Marketplace has a shop. No, I haven't actually. I'm just like a little worried because it doesn't seem like the most secure thing ever. Although I do know a lot of people that have bought things off of it and like are completely fine. And it can be a little bit anxious too, because sometimes you see things on TikTok that are like a shirt for like $4 or like an eyelash curler for like 50 cents. And it's like, it seems a little bit suspicious. Yeah, it's a little suspicious. It's a little too good to be true, you know. So I definitely agree with you on that. I definitely think like if the government doesn't get involved, then like the companies can basically like do whatever they want. Like although like they do say that they have like safety precautions and like rules in place. But like if it's just like their own rules, they can like easily just surpass them or just pay any fine that they have to and just keep on doing whatever it is that they're doing. Yeah. And it's kind of like the same thing as like the black market. Like these things are illegal in the US, but people still find a way to get them. Exactly. Yeah, I do agree with you on that. All right. Well, thank you for answering my questions. Thank you so much for having me. It was a pleasure to have you here. All right. Until next time, guys.
