"Bacchides: or, The Twin Sisters" by Titus Maccius Plautus is a Roman comedy that revolves around twin sisters who were separated at birth and raised in different lands. The story follows Mnesilochus, who unknowingly falls in love with one of the sisters, only to discover that his friend Pistoclerus seems to be involved with her as well. The play is filled with great complications and misunderstandings, but eventually, everything is explained and all the characters come together to celebrate and enjoy themselves. Although some parts of Act 1 are fragmented, it is easy to piece together the missing information to fully appreciate the rest of the play's humorous and entertaining storyline.
