The Age of the Puritans Volume 1

The Age of the Puritans Volume 1 is a collection of writings by different authors. It starts with a summary of Christian doctrine by William Perkin, aimed at correcting popular misconceptions of the time. Robert Rollock's scheme for dividing doctrine into key topics is also included, as is his explanation of the relationship between written Scriptures and the "lively voice" heard in other ages. This pre-empted the later Quaker-Puritan debates. Finally, B.B. Warfield gives a selection of the best parts of John Arrowsmith's Armilla Catecheti. This volume provides a great introduction to the religious beliefs and debates of the Puritan era.
