One way to improve team development is by using books and videos. There is a great video about motivation and teamwork in rowing that lists several principles of being a great team. Another recommendation is Patrick Lencioni's book, "The Ideal Team Player." You can supplement coaching by playing a video or reading a book each week and asking team members to email two things they did to support the video or book's principles. I think one of the best things you can do is to use books and videos when it comes to team development. There is a great video, and if you look up Motivation and Team and Rowing, R-O-W-I-N-G, there's a great two and a half minute video that lists about seven or eight principles of being a great team. The other thing is I love Patrick Lencioni's books on the ideal team player. And what you can do with supplemental coaching is play a video every single week, look up on YouTube or Vimeo, different videos on teamwork and motivation, and just play it. And then ask people, once you send it out or if you play it in a group session, is to just email you two things they did to support that video and its principles. You can do the same thing with books, especially a book like The Ideal Team Player by Patrick Lencioni.
