This is Thought Tackle presented by Forkast.Media hmm yeah here's my thing man I feel like the Panthers games so they had on you know they had the London game on ESPN plus and that's when everybody realized they didn't have ESPN plus and so like a couple of people who still have like free Disney plus subscriptions from like a phone service was just like oh they said they showing it on Disney on Disney plus and then you saw that weird Toy Story version of the game which is terrible um and so like at that point I was like you know what if the Panthers game was on at this time nobody was going to watch it anyway and then you know they could have just got that game out of the way and nobody would have noticed and they could have just stuck it on ESPN plus for anybody who wanted to subject themselves to that great I just need to know why you have this massive offensive coaching staff for this team and Bryce Young is throwing a hundred and sixty yards a game and this man got sacked five times like what are y'all doing like are y'all like y'all scoring less than 20 points a game this is an NFL team we talking about the Panthers that's it that's the A Block and a local show every week we gotta I'm trying to see what the day not good they had to call a timeout because he thought Adam Peele was overkill and realized that Adam Peele wasn't overkill so he had to call a timeout because the plate that he was calling was designed for Adam Peele it's just a set so he don't know how to do anybody else's coaching or not nobody else is going to be able to do it but he had to have Adam Peele go five yards and fall to the ground I just think that like I think in football particularly in the NFL coaching is so important and the same thing you know we'll talk about this later or tomorrow but the same thing that we see in Chicago people think that Justin Fields is the problem I don't know if Justin Fields is the problem I think Justin Fields is the problem and Frank Wright got this job because he's supposed to be the offensive guy the guy that they were supposed to hire to be the head coach of the team is doing what right now he's coaching the defense of the San Francisco 49ers the same way the same way I look every year he won five games out of six with a bad football defense and he got rid of him Frank Wright said he was going to be good offensively and what did he have to strike at right now? Offensively you know what they could have been good offensively if they would have drafted him right before the bat I don't know because if Frank Wright was coaching anybody there's nothing bad but he's right the biggest issue is I mean and here's the thing it's not even like they're fully at the bottom of the barrel like there are teams that are worse than the Panthers offensively oh oh you want to talk about yards or points? here's some people in terms of yards here are teams who are worse the Las Vegas Raiders the Green Bay Packers the Tennessee Titans the Pittsburgh Steelers the Panthers are worse in reality so that's why most of them are on the green oh okay so is that the answer? like because I was just looking like you asked what did they get for Christian McCaffrey it was a whole bunch of picks in the draft that just passed so if those draft picks don't pan out then that was a bad trade because all they have left over from that trade is a fifth rounder this year the Panthers first pick in this year's draft is going to be their own second rounder so that's going to be a high second rounder but at the same time you don't have a first round pick like so there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the Carolina Panthers I don't see they might steal a win at some point but I don't know how they're bad at everything on the offensive side of the ball so it's relying on your defense to come and steal you a game and their defense isn't that good probably because you just got rid of a good defensive coordinator who was also your head coach and sent him to San Francisco that's him? I like where this show is going so let's start here let's look at all three of those quarterbacks all four of them he was also David McCullough David McCullough that's his decision he wanted Bryce he was like the right guy he wanted to go to the South meanwhile, Stephen South has the second most passes by a rookie quarterback in his first four games here's the other piece to that let's look at what David Tepper's track record has been since he took over the team so he's coming and what's the very first thing he does is his first major decision he hires he gets rid of he gets rid of Ron Rivera and brings in Matt Rule who has never been an NFL coach and you not only give Matt Rule control over the team on the field you give him personnel decision making and so that set you back years and so now I don't think Frank Wright's a bad coach I just know this was a winnable situation for Frank Wright coming into this situation because you have already lost the locker room the Panthers will not get better until everybody in there gone and y'all get some more people in there none zero you just out here trying to win with Miles Sanders these are your big free agent signings you bring in Miles Sanders he can't get 3 yards of carry Miles Sanders is not getting 3 yards of carry they're not getting any production from any of these guys offensive line terrible offensive line terrible quarterback y'all about to get that boy killed he was doing the exact thing I was worried about he was going to do when I saw him at Alabama he is out here trying to score on every play and that is not the way you play NFL quarterback you cannot be out there trying to score on every play as an NFL quarterback it's going to get you killed but they not because you know what's happening like did you see that stadium this past week a whole bunch of Vikings fans I thought it was a Grimace convention for McDonald's it was so much purple in that room when the Panthers was doing their little chant at the end of the quarter and then the Vikings started doing theirs their chant was way louder with that skull that skull was thundering through Brink of America stadium you should be embarrassed ashamed of yourself terrible they got 12 more weeks of this man dog they going to be lucky to get a win okay so based on our draft here are the teams we thought would be worse than the Carolina Panthers the Colts the Rams the Texans there was one more team we didn't draft the Cardinals those were the only teams we didn't draft we didn't draft we didn't draft we didn't draft we didn't draft we didn't draft the Cardinals those were the only teams we yeah none of us none of us believed why do we like the Panthers? I mean we also like the offensive coordinator in Carolina but they not doing a very good job so that's the problem you know what it's setting up for it's setting up for the rise of Josh McCown I just want everybody to be on McCown watch McCown watch is ticking tick tick tick Josh McCown is going to be the next head coach of the Carolina Panthers watch for it Josh McCown is going to be the next head coach what you do is you say this year is a wash this is what's going to happen you got to give your coaching a year as long as they're able to steal one win and don't go 0-17 you can be like listen man you know it's a rough year we're going to do some things in free agency we're going to fire the GM bring in a new GM and then maybe revitalize the team well he's going to probably go like 4-11 or what's 7-17 minus 4 4-13 the next time and then you get rid of him yeah I was trying to find that well well well injuries suspensions people might load management you never know I'm going to give you a run I'm going to give you a run right now because they're going to I'm going to go ahead and tell you they're going to lose to the Lions and the Dolphins okay but then here's your run here's your time to steal a win Texans, Colts, Bears but Texans, Colts, Bears you got to steal one of those they're not going to get they're not going to be the Texans or the Colts so they're not going to be the Texans or the Colts but the Bears got every reason to lose that game on Thursday night football yeah it does oh no y'all got every reason to win that game y'all pick it better y'all pick it better either way never mind that might be an L too alright alright so let's see what's after that Cowboys lost Titans lost and then you get into a run of the division game and maybe you get an A man situation I don't have a confident answer I think they might go 0-17 0-17 0-17 look real good right now here's my question at 0-10 you think Tepper makes a move and just say Frank this ain't it why he got all the money the players the players liked Steve he didn't care maybe people liked Frank enough to say you know what Frank when he called you in his office and said hey what are you going to do to turn things around you should look at him and say man I did all I could do and just let him fire you you can collect unemployment he can collect unemployment if you fire him alright man you talking about this man you talking about this man caring about the community Mario he cares about us let me ask you this is the greater Charlotte metropolitan region not a part of the community cause David Tepper has already shown you he don't care about that there's a there's a there's a overpass across interstate 77 that will show you that this man does not care about none of that I'm just telling you my question is and this may be wishful thinking how stubborn do you think he is to keep holding on to that team if it starts to become not profitable for him what if they turn on him you think he'll try to move the team please tell me Jerry put that in the in the contract that he can't move the team like I mean these are the things you have to start thinking about is this man trying to move the team television revenue but my thing is you are a bad TV product when you can't score 17 points a game when your quarterback is throwing for 167 yards a game when your running back is rushing for less than 3 yards a game nobody wants to watch you the other owners are going to look at you and say what are you contributing why are you here like the community like the Carolina Panthers are not just bad they are like the worst kind of bad they are unwatchably bad like there is no reason where we struggle every week with this topic like dang we got to get over here and talk about the Panthers but you know we are we want to support the local product but it's painful to watch it's sad the fighting the fighting Brittany Renner uh huh uh huh laughing laughing laughing
