The speaker, Dr. Ergen, discusses the lack of transparency and accountability in supplement testing by the FDA. He claims that the FDA often gives incorrect or false information about supplements, but does not admit to it. He compares the FDA's power and secrecy to that of a government or police force. In contrast, the FDA is more forthcoming with information about pharmaceutical drugs. The speaker emphasizes the need for the FDA to be more transparent and criticizes their current practices. test, test, test. Do not use supplements unless they are thoroughly tested. Hey there folks, Dr. Ergen here, I'm an endocrinologist practicing in Florida. So if you're ready to dive head first into this thrilling world of supplement testing, watch this video. You may want to know this. I know what you're thinking, sounds about as fun as watching the paints dry. But trust me, there is more intrigue here than in a detective novel. Oh boy, here we go. So we are a true Gramby's, we take our jobs very seriously. I mean as serious as a squirrel in a nut factory. We test every little pill, capsule, gummy bear that comes our way. And yes, we are committed to the hilt. We have got everything, right? The beakers, the microscopes, the works. Now you would think that would be enough, right? Well, think again my friend. FDA, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States, not every day we have a very special FDA in the United States. Bless their hearts, you know, they're trying to do their job, I guess. Sometimes they come in, you know, they come back and tell supplement companies. If you just go to their website, you'll probably find a ton of, I would say 100 pages of warnings about everything in the world. Can you believe that? It's like being the best baker in town and having someone tell you that your donut tastes like a cardboard. Why? Well, because pharmaceutical companies are there and they don't like it. And they want FDA to keep promoting that sentiment that the supplements are all dangerous for you. And they will not even give you any test results. They have no evidence. Just because we say so, it's like government. If you say so, you have to believe it. I'll say, I'll call it a BS. I need evidence, right? We wear our perseverance cap every day. We nod, we smile, we carry on. And we are ready to provide all the tests. By the way, you know, just email us at feedback at sugaremmys.com for your questions. If you need test results, whatnot, we will provide all that to you from our standpoint. I cannot talk for other supplement companies, but for ourselves, we can provide everything you need. So our friends over at the FDA, well, they have a bit of a shady reputation, unfortunately. Anyhow, they are kind of like the friend who never wants to admit they got the answer wrong on a trivia night. They test all the supplements they say, but, and they say they don't regulate the supplements, so go figure. But sometimes, hey, they might get a little bit incorrect or false, but here's the kicker. They don't really like to gab about it. It's like having a secret recipe for a grandma's cookies, but occasionally you mix up salt for sugar, and instead of admitting to the blunder, you just say, oh, that's a new recipe. You know, I just found that. Let's put on our detective hats, grab our magnifying glasses, and uncover the truth in this role-licking adventure of supplement testing. Buckle up. It's going to be a wild ride. Here's where the plot thickens, folks, and this is not a conspiracy theory or anything like that. I'm just telling you what I have had experience with FDA over the years. Our friends at the FDA have a bit of a carte blanche. They sort of get out of jail free card. When it comes to their supplement testing, super secretive. They basically do what they want, how they want, and there's not a whole lot we can do about it, or any supplement company can do about it. It's like if they say something, they're the government, you cannot do anything about it. It's like the police comes and, you know, by the way, 99% of police officers in this country are great people. Let's say 1% is marginal police officers who have some hatred or some aggression in them or whatever, some racist, you know, rare, rare cops, right? And they'll come and do something to you, and they'll say, oh, well, they're the police. You can't do anything about us. So, you know, I'm not saying FDA is a super villain or anything, but let's just say they've got so much power, they're not a toddler in a candy store. See what I'm saying? It's like they're playing a game of Monopoly, but they've got the bank, they've got the board, and all the property, and you are just watching. They say this little pill is going to make you sick or die or whatever, and that rarely happens for pharmaceutical companies. Well, who are we to question, right? They say, oh, all the supplements are bad for you. Don't use them. Well, after all, they're the FDA. We have to listen. They're the government. We have to listen to them. Now, here's where things get downright tough cask. Whenever I try to get a little more info from our buddies at the FDA, I will call them, question them. They treat me like I'm asking for a nuclear code or something. I mean, come on. Isn't that a public info? I just want to know if the vitamins that you're talking about that turned my dead body into a Chris Hemsworth bot. I'm not asking that. I'm asking. It's like I asked for some secret formula to Coca-Cola or something. By the way, nobody still knows that, but FDA will not say anything about it. It's a giant company. They tell me, oh, you want that data? Sure. You will just need to submit this 40-page request in triplicate, signed in your own blood. I'm like, seriously? Seriously, guys? Isn't it just a one-page test result that you can provide for any company that you're testing for? Well, no. Apparently, it is some top-secret, state-of-the-art, 007-level stuff that I have no right to know as a scientist, as a physician. Here's the cherry on top, folks. You would think that given all the cloak and dagger they play with supplement world, asking about pharmaceutical drugs would be like prying open a Pandora's box. You think, right? But, oh, boy, how wrong you would be. It's like night and day. No sooner you have uttered the word pharma, they're rolling out the red carpet, ushering you into their glitzy world of immediate answers. Oh, yeah, it's safe. FDA-approved. It's all good. They declare with a fanfare. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Go for it. It's available. Yeah, here's the data. It's like they've got a fast-food-style drive-through for pharmaceutical drug information. Isn't that outrageous? I tell you, the plot wouldn't get any thicker in a Hollywood thriller. Until FDA becomes more transparent, I will keep criticizing them, and nobody can stop me. Talk to you later.
