Nothing to say, yet
In 2019, the speaker moved to Virginia and started second grade. They didn't know anyone until their mom introduced them to a girl named Sofia. They became friends and had a great first day of school. They continued to be friends and spent time together playing games and visiting each other's houses. However, when Sofia moved away, they saw each other less and eventually grew apart. Despite this, the speaker will always remember Sofia as their first friend in Virginia. In 2019, I moved to Virginia because my mom got a news from the D.C. I was only 7 years old and was starting the second grade. When we went to the school, the house, I knew no one there. Me and my mom were at my new desk and we were getting everything ready for my first day of school. While we were getting everything ready, my mom saw another mom and daughter at the other end of my desk and she decided to introduce herself. Hi, how are you? I'm Jocelyn, Katya's mom, my mom said cheerfully. I remembered my mom squeezing my shoulder to show the other mom who I was. Hi, I'm Sofia's mom, she replied. My mom and the other mom kept on chatting, so I decided to say hi to the girl. Hi, I'm Katya, I said quietly. Hello, she said back. My name is Sofia. Hello, Sofia. Want to play together? I asked her. Sofia obviously said yes. Sofia and I played together for the rest of the open house. Once we were done in the classroom, we headed outside to go in the playground. When it was time to leave, Sofia and I didn't want to go, but our mom eventually got us to leave. Well, Katya won't be here on the first day of school, but she will be back the second week, my mom said to us. No, me and Sofia cried. We were sad that I was going to miss the first day of school. When I got back to the second week, Sofia led me through my first day of school and I met some new friends. We played with Sofia and our other friends during recess. We had so much fun. Overall, I had a great first day of school. Sofia and I stayed friends for a long time. I went to her house, she went to mine. We played in my backyard and made videos and played our own made-up games. Then, when Sofia moved away, we stopped seeing each other so often and we had no way to communicate with each other. We saw each other a couple of times after she moved, but not a lot. The more we didn't see each other, the more we grew apart. Even though we weren't friends for long, we still had a beautiful friendship and I will always remember that Sofia was my first friend in Virginia.
