The podcast discusses the challenges of integrating art and technology in the classroom and suggests ways to overcome them. Challenges include teachers who are unfamiliar with art integration, allowing students to take more control, and lack of funding for art supplies. To overcome these challenges, teachers can attend art-integrated workshops, gradually introduce student-led activities, and seek grants for funding. The podcast ends by asking about challenges in incorporating technology in the classroom. Hi, everyone, this is our final podcast for art and technology integration. My name is Ruth Markovich, and this is... Today we are going to be talking about the challenges that art and technology integration can happen in a classroom, and we are going to also be talking about how we can resolve or overcome those challenges. Some challenges that art integration can have is, one, a teacher that has never integrated art into their curriculum before. This could be hard for them because they wouldn't know where to start to put art into a project or a subject. Another one is to open the floor to the student. Teachers have to let go of the reins a little bit. A lot of projects in instruction is teacher-led, and art integration is allowing the students to take over and let them do a little bit of the teaching themselves, but also still have the boundaries of a classroom. Another thing could be funding. This is having the right supplies in each classroom to integrate art into the subject, whether it be music instruments to go along with a story or more art supplies for students to create an image of whatever the subject may be. That is a good question. Some of the things that we can do to overcome challenges for art integration is to find art-integrated workshops to help teachers to find a good starting point to integrate arts into a classroom. Another thing is, of course, letting the students take over and do a student-led activity. You can start slow on this. You can allow the students to create sound in a story that doesn't normally have a sound. Let them create their own sound, and then move slower into something else. The hardest challenge is going to be funding. Funding is very little, depending on where you live and what kind of funding goes into the schools. But ask your administrators to see if there's any kind of grants that can be given to help fund, to get the supplies of the art-integrated things into the classrooms. As there are various challenges for art integration, Logan, what would you say are some of the major challenges in terms of incorporating and optimizing technology within the classroom? And how can teachers overcome this? Thank you for listening to our podcast. This is Ruth Markovich, and have a great night.
