Final Podcast

This is your host Rodan Thomas. Today is June 8th, 2024. Here we are, finals week. This is going to be our last week's podcast. It's kind of crazy, this class went by really quick. We're already done with the year finishing our finals this week and we're going to be on summer break. Yeah, summer's coming up already. The weather's been nice in the city so it's been nice being able to go everywhere, do stuff outside again after the long winter. Just coming up this week we have Summer Spanish coming up, which is a music festival here in Chicago hosted by the Lyrical Lemonade. On Friday, this upcoming Friday, June 14th, we have Cactus Jack coming out, the boy Travis, Big Sean, we have Full Millie, we have Famous Dex and a bunch of other artists that day. And then on Saturday the 15th we have the headliner Playboi Carti, we have Kodak Black coming out, Ski Mask, Lil Skies. Who else do we have? We have Freddie Got Magic, Anik, and Sam. And then the last day of the concert, Sunday is going to be Chief Keef as the headliner with Ken Carson, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty, Lil B, Icy Twat, Joey. And then for the weekend the sounds are going to be by the big DJs like DJ Skeeve. Yeah, I'm hyped for Summer Spanish. I'm going all three days. It's going to be me, a couple of my cousins, and then one of my friends from New York City is coming out to visit Chicago and he's also coming with us to Summer Spanish. He's going to be here visiting for a couple of weeks while he visits some family and does some stuff for work. So excited for that. Besides that, this summer I also am planning to go to Washington DC in the middle of July. I'm going to be spending my birthday there. So I'll be there from July 18th to the 23rd, I believe. It's going to be me, my brother, my cousin Nathan, and then a couple of my friends, Joel, Chris, and then my boy Sam. And then also my uncle and my parents are also coming too because they're also going to be in DC for a church conference that is going on that same weekend. That's why we will be over there for the majority of the time, but we also are going to be visiting family and also going around DC just sightseeing and seeing all the capitol and everything like that. Also this summer I also have some other plans. Me and a couple of my friends are going to Nashville, Tennessee just to have a quick summer trip because me and all my friends we all go to different colleges and we don't get to see each other as often as a lot of them are out of state and our breaks don't always align up. But during the summer is the only time we all get to see each other. So we also plan to trip over there in the beginning of August. We're going to be there for a week, a week and a half. First couple days we're going to be spending in Nashville and then for four days we're going to be in the Smoky Mountains in a cabin. So excited for that. Besides that, I'll also be working during the summer. I'm going to be helping my dad with a couple of his businesses. Just helping him, giving him a hand with transporting, restocking and taking care of all the stores and the other employees. And then besides that, I'm going to be helping my little brother out as he is starting this Travel Volleyball League and he's doing that this summer. So I'm going to be taking him back and forth to practices and different games all throughout the state and Wisconsin. And then also besides that, currently we have the NBA Finals going on, the Celtics and the Mavs. We just had Game 2 yesterday and the Celtics won, making the series 2-0. So they already have a 2-0 lead. Game 3 is going to be in a couple days. It's Wednesday, June 12th on 730 I believe. The Celtics and Mavs will go up against each other again. Hopefully, the Mavs get this dub or it's going to be hard to come back from a 3-0 loss. But yeah, besides that, it's been a fun 10 weeks and it's sad to say this is going to be the last podcast we have. But hey, we learned a lot in this class and here we go on with our lives again.
