The speaker then introduces the topic of how to handle difficult times, referencing Bible passages about endurance and the importance of having supportive relationships. They acknowledge that not everyone has someone to turn to in times of adversity. I pray Lord that you strengthen every heart, I pray Lord that you encourage every heart, I pray oh God that you help us to be able to find strength in you again. In the name of Jesus, release upon us supernatural strength and help us for a time like this. Thank you Father because you are faithful. For in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen. My name remains as Peter Singh, Honoja Abu. And yes my YouTube channel, please I beg you subscribe to my YouTube channel. I drop contents that focuses on the Christian life and consecration. And then I also drop contents that will guide you, empower you and make you to become efficient in life and purpose. What we will be talking about today is a very interesting topic because of the time in which we are. The Bible talks about that in the last days there shall be perilous time. And in as much we talk about the signs of the perilous time, we must not undermine the fact that the Bible talks about a difficult time. And we are in a time where a lot of Christians are giving up their faith. Many believers, far-based believers, consistent and committed believers are going through trials. The Bible says in James chapter 1 that when we go through trials that God permits that so as for us to develop the spirit of patience. But then there are some people that are being in challenging season. And it appears as if the season is going bigger than your strength. The season is getting tougher than you can take. And you have nobody to talk to. You have cried, you have wept in the night. You have done everything possible that anybody can do. Yet the pain is still there. Your heart is still shattered. The things and the life you are going through now was never prepared for. It was something that you never planned to experience in life. And suddenly the experience that came to Job in the Bible appeared to have been coming to you. I want to let you know that the Bible, the Word of God has a comfort for you. You can find your solace, you can find your comfort in Scripture. The Spirit of God is called the Comforter. And Jesus is the Prince of Peace. I pray for you that before the end of this message may you find peace in the name of Jesus. I will be sharing with you on the topic I titled as how to handle difficult times. How to handle challenges. How to handle challenges. Or how to go through challenges. What is the knowledge you need when you are going through difficult times? When you are going through challenging times? Before I read our text, Paul the Apostle wrote to Timothy. In 2 Timothy 2, read from verse 2. He said, Thou therefore, my son Timothy, endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Paul didn't say that Timothy, where I am there is no hardness there. Paul said, endure it. Looking at the life of Paul the Apostle, you will see a man that fought so many battles. In fact, he said he fought with a beast in Ephesus. It was a man that went through several challenges. And it came up in Romans chapter 8 from verse 35. Who shall separate me from the love of God? Neither peril, perilous times shall come. Difficult times shall come. Times that you will not be able to explain why they came. You are a good person. You are a good Christian. You are a fervent Christian serving the Lord. Why would such a time come? The Lord permits it. And then He has given us a message that will come to you at this time to encourage you in this difficult time. The first thing I want to let you know is that God is aware of what you are going through. Heaven is aware of the challenges you are going through. The Spirit of God is aware of those nights, weeping, those tears, and the wounds that rolled down your eyes. The wounds you cannot explain. The way you planned it, it never worked out like that again. The way you thought it would go, it never worked out like that again. And nobody seems to understand you. You try to express your frustration. You try to express your discouragement. But every time you open your mouth to speak, people see you as a timid person. They never want to understand what you are trying to explain. They never want to understand what you are trying to describe to them that you are going through. I want to tell you that there may be nobody that will sit down with you and allow you to speak your mind and to express yourself and to let him or her know how you feel. There may be nobody that may be able to understand the burdens you are carrying. There may be nobody that may be able to understand the gravity of the situation you are currently going through. But we have the Spirit of God. We have the Word of God. We have God Himself who is our Comforter, our perfect Peacemaker. He is coming to give you peace in the name of Jesus. So we talk about how to handle challenges or how to handle difficult times. Before we go to the topic, I want to read just three Bible passages. I think that these three Bible passages will be able to buttress my point. And when I begin to explain the topic, it will be easier for me to relate with. The first Bible passage we are going to read is Proverbs 24 verse 10. Proverbs chapter 24 verse 10. The book of Proverbs chapter 24. Then we go to verse 10. Let us hear what God has in the Word of God for us. What the Spirit of God wants to communicate to us about. Because I know that many people are going through challenges this time. A lot of Christians are backsliding, leaving the faith. And those who don't have understanding, those that don't have understanding, they misjudge them. When they were going through those challenges, nobody took on sign. Now they have left the faith. Now they have backslided. All we are saying is that they were never Christians before. Who told you they were never Christians before? Who told you they were never preachers of the truth before? Who told you that they were never pastors before? Who told you they were never evangelists before? It is not because they are going through this hard time and they succumb to temptations that you came up with your postulation. You came up with your theories and said they were never Christians. People are backsliding. People are dropping from the faith. Ministers are changing the gospel. Many are contemplating suicide because of the burdens, because of the pain, because of the challenges that they are going through in life. In Proverbs 24 verse 10, the Bible says in verse 10, If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. I want you to understand that word strength. Because we are going to revisit that word. What is small? It is not the size of the person. It is not the heart of the person. It is the strength of the person. Someone can be huge. Someone can have money. Someone can have everything. They can look physically okay. But secretly, that person is going through depression. Secretly, that person is going through pain. Secretly, that person is going through contemplation of suicide. People are going through suicidal thoughts. I am here in Lagos. The news of people going to Thoth mainland bridge, jumping down from the bridge into the river to die, into the sea, is because when they were going through this adversity period, their strength, they had small strength. The Bible says if thou fainted in the day of adversity, it means that there will be days of adversity. A time will come. An adversity will come. The Bible didn't promise us that there won't be challenges. It said if you faint in the midst of the challenges, it is because your strength is small. What is the strength? We can liken the strength to be spiritual strength. You can say physical strength, but is it really physical strength? There is something more than physical strength. Because discouragement is a mental problem. Discouragement takes place in your brain, in your mind, in your emotion. You first get discouraged in your emotion before you lay it out. So if thou fainted in the day of adversity, it is because your strength is small. That strength that we need to build is the reason I bring this topic. The strength, we need to boost it up. We need to boost it. We need to empower it. Because if it falls down, if it becomes small, we must faint. Are you getting me now? And that is the reason for the topic. In Proverbs 17, verse 17. The Bible says, A friend loveth at all times. And a brother is born for adversity. You can't claim to be my brother. And when I am going through adversity, the period of challenges, I can't see you. You are not there. You are nowhere to be found. You are not there to comfort me. Brothers are born in the days of adversity. If I am your brother, it is when you are going through challenges, that I should call you more. I should show the greatness of love more. Brothers are born in the days of adversity. Adversity will come. But when you have brothers with you, who are there to support you in the place of prayer, who are there to strengthen and encourage you, there is possibility for your strength to be boosted up. And that is why I want to see that word strength in another perspective. If that strength is small, but then, your brother is born for the day of adversity. Unfortunately, not many of us have people that shake up on us in our days of adversity. Unfortunately, not everyone of us has people that call us, that comfort us, that speak words of encouragement to us in our days of adversity. Unfortunately, not everyone of us have the privilege of families and friends shaking up on us in our days of adversity. You might be watching me right now. And this is your current situation. You are alone. Everybody abandoned you. Like Job. Job was abandoned by his wife. Job was abandoned by friends. Job was kept alone. And the ashes, the dust became his intimacy. Job was a man that saw the other side of life when God allowed the devil to take rid of everything that Job had achieved in life. And that might be your situation. A friend is born for the days of adversity. If you are my friend, who is a friend? I see people calling one another, this is my friend. How do you know he is your friend? It is in the period of adversity you are to choose friends. You choose friends in the period of adversity. You choose friends in a time where everybody run away from you. Where everybody goes on transfer. And they leave you alone to face the burden of life. And there are few people standing with you. There are few people saying, we are not going to leave this man. We are not going to leave this woman. We are going to stand here with you. Your God will be my God. Where you die is where I will die. And you stand up like roots following Naomi. These are the true friends. Look at Jesus Christ. He said, you are my friends. Because they were with him even in the time of hunger and taste. He said, the breath of the air have no nest. I don't know what you are going through in life. But the Lord is speaking to us right now. The Lord is communicating to us right now. That a friend is born for the days of adversity. Let us go to the book of Philippians. Philippians chapter 4. I read verse 5 and verse 6. Verse 5. Sorry, verse 6 and verse 7. Be careful for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication. The word, be careful. Don't be anxious. Don't be worried. But in everything by prayer and supplication. With thanksgiving. Let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding. Shall keep your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. Amen. We come now to the topic. When we talk about challenges. What do I mean? Contextually according to my message. When I say how to handle challenges. When I say how to handle difficult times. What do I mean? Number one. Challenges here means a difficult time. When I use the word challenges here. I am talking about a difficult time. Number two. When I use the word challenges. I am talking about a period of lack. A period of lack. Financial lack. Material lack. You don't have shelter. You don't have where to stay. You don't have clothes. It's a period of lack. This is also a challenging period. Number three. When I use the word challenges here. I mean the period of sicknesses. You are sick in your body. You are sick in your health. You are sick in your kidney. You are sick in your liver. You have bodily sickness. Medical sickness. You are medically sick. That is also a challenge. Number four. Season of loss. I don't know what you have lost. You have lost properties. You have lost loved ones. You have lost things. You have lost things. You lost your job. You lost things. And that is a period. A season of loss. That is also a challenging time. That is also a difficult time. When we talk about a period. When we talk about a challenging time. I also mean an adversity. Adversity means a time of trials. A time of hard work. Every day, every day, every time, you keep confessing the Word of God. In the midst of challenges, in the midst of trials, you are confessing the Word of God. You are confessing the Word of God. And on that day, you are praising God. Let that period be the period of praises. Sing praises to the Lord. Worship Him in the beauty of His holiness. If you follow this, you will win the battle. I want to speak to that sister that is discouraged. That God has given you the ingredients through this message that can bring you hearts. I'm speaking to you, that brother. God has given you the ingredients that can bring you hearts from that challenge. Why not bow your head down for prayers and talk to the Lord? Ask Him to strengthen you. Because your strength now has been boosted with knowledge. Your strength has been boosted so you will not faint in adversity. Lord, strengthen me more. Give me grace. Open your mouth and begin to talk to the Lord. Make sure you are talking to the Lord. Give me grace. Give me grace. Give me grace. Help me. Help me not to faint. Help me to look beyond now. Help me to focus on your promises. Let my heart desire you. Let my heart desire you. Let my heart desire you. Let my heart desire you. In the name of Jesus.
