Kiarma Kircher, a member of the Women's Lacrosse team, discusses the benefits of the new facility renovation. She believes it is a good investment for recruiting and shows the school's commitment to athletics. The renovation has provided more space and equipment for individual workouts, making it more time efficient. However, Kiarma mentions some drawbacks, such as the lack of mirrors for form-checking and the limited variety of equipment. Overall, she and other athletes appreciate the new facility but wish their opinions were considered during the renovation process. What is your name and can you spell it? Kiarma Kircher, K-I-A-R-A-M-C-K-E-R-C-H-E-R. What team are you a member on? Women's Lacrosse. What does this waiver motivation do for your sport? As a sport, it helps with recruitment because recruits are able to see new facilities and it's a good investment for our sport. It also gives us more of an opportunity to work out. There's a lot more squat racks right now, so strength and conditioning has become a priority on our team. Our coach is also the head strength and conditioning coach, so she's used that new weight room a lot for functional weightlifting and training. Do you feel this was money well spent by the college? Yeah, like I said, it's a good investment for recruiters because they get to see the new facilities. It's nice to see that the school cares about athletics and puts money into our facilities. Overall, I'm a little biased on it, but it is a good investment in the long run. How has this renovation helped you get better at your sport? In past years, it's been really cramped in there, so there's a lot more space now, so we get to work out individually. It's a lot more time efficient. We don't really have to wait around for other people now. Obviously, the work you put in off the field matters just as much as practices and competition, so having a new facility to use helps a lot. How do you and other athletes feel about the new renovation? Overall, we're really appreciative of getting a new facility, but we do wish administration had asked for our opinions. Right now, there's no mirrors, so we can't really look at our form when we're lifting. That's also a huge safety risk for newer athletes that don't really know their form. There's also less variety in equipment. We lost a lot of our machines, like our cable rows, so athletes have had to adapt to create new workouts to use. There's a lot of squat racks, which is nice, but the space is bigger, but we are more limited in our training. Okay. Connor, you're done.
