In the final episode of her podcast series on motivation, Rebecca interviews her mom, Jenny Norton. She considers her greatest achievement to be raising her children well and progressing in her career. Jenny is motivated by her family and strives to be a positive influence. She stays consistent by setting goals, working hard, and constantly educating herself. Jenny advises others to do their best, not let negativity affect them, and focus on happiness. She believes in being kind and understanding, as everyone faces different challenges. Hello everyone. Welcome back to Rebecca's podcast on motivation. On my podcast, I talk about how persistence is the key to success and how a person can become successful with determination. This is the final podcast in my three-part series. In this last podcast, I will be interviewing a very successful person in my life. She has been successful at being a mom, wife, and x-ray tech. Pursuing your dreams will make you happy and let you enjoy what you're doing. Success feels great in life. There's always an opportunity around the corner after your success. Everyone, welcome my mom, Jetty Norton, to the podcast. She went to Fanshawe College in 19-something or other to become an x-ray tech. She is an excellent mom of two twin girls. Furthermore, she has been happily married to Rick Norton for the past 26 years. Today, we will be talking about her successful journey. So, my first question is, how would you define success? I would define success as getting somewhere in your life that makes you happy, whether it's your family and their success and how everybody is doing, or your career, doing something you enjoy every day, and somewhere where you can have a comfortable lifestyle and not rely on anybody else to help you. Also, your health. You know, part of having a successful life would be your health and your happiness. Okay. Tell me, in your opinion, what was your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement in my home life are my kids. I enjoy watching them grow and raising them to be good kids. In work, it's been a job, enjoying what I do, moving up and changing how I've done my job and the different aspects of my job, and now I am, like, the head of the area that I am at, and I get to help others achieve their goals. What motivates you for your successful journey? My family has motivated me. I try and do well and show them how they can help others and just be good people in life, you know, help others and just do what you can do and stay positive. And how did you stay consistent? I think setting goals, little goals, all the time. It's just hard work. Keep going, keep moving, keep having something you strive for, always looking ahead, and keep reading and doing what you can to educate yourself and move forward. And do you have any regrets in life, and how do you get over them? I don't have a lot of regrets in my life. I try not to regret decisions because you've already made those decisions, and you never know where that other road might have taken you, so you're better just to live with your decisions and move on and learn from them and do what you can with the choices that you've made. What challenges did you face throughout your journey? Well, my challenges for sure would be money to afford everything to get where you want to get, but again, if you're a hard worker and you keep working hard at, whether it's a job on the side or volunteering your time, I think all that helps. Okay, last question. What is your best advice to someone to stay persistent and to never give up? I would say always try and do your best, and don't let others try and bring you down. Try and enjoy your life and your work, do what you do. I think happiness helps you. Try not to sweat the small stuff. Don't let the little things in life bother you. Move on from those kind of things. And just that we all have different challenges in our lives. You never know what somebody else is going through, so in the end, it will probably just be best to try and be kind and try and have understanding that you don't know what other people go through. Okay, thank you, Jenny. That is all the questions I have for you today.
