I humbly appreciate the pastorate for this opportunity. And I thank God that whatever he is about to tell us this morning. We minister to us in the name of Jesus. Praise master Jesus. Worship. Worship. Worship. I define worship simply as appreciating God. God's nature and his worth. Appreciating God's nature and his worth. That is who God is to you at any given time. If he is your healer at a particular time. You worship him for that. If he is your deliverer. If he is your butler. If he is you know your Ebenezer. Everything God represents to you at a particular time. You have to keep worshiping him for those times. Whether they are pleasant or not. It really doesn't matter. Worship God. Because him alone can do all things. Praise master Jesus. I say a true worship comes as a result of the understanding of the importance of faith in God. If you understand the importance of faith in God. Then worship will come to you just naturally. Praise the name of the Lord. Because you cannot worship who you don't trust. Who you don't know. How? You must know that person to be able to worship well enough. Praise master Jesus. Hebrews 11.6a Hebrews 11.6a It says without faith it is impossible to please God. So worship must occupy the core of the life of a believer. It must be vital to your daily life. Worship. We must build our life around the worship of God. Rather than making worship just another activity in this busy schedule of church study. I want to say that again. We should build our life around the worship of God. Rather than making it an activity, a busy activity of the schedule of church study. Worship is on a daily basis. It's not only what you do in church. Praise the name of the Lord. Psalm 122. The person that told the Bible open prayer was in the spirit. Psalm 122. You know he said, I was glad when they said to me, let us go to the house of the Lord. I was glad. Are you always glad when you are called to the house of the Lord? It's a question that you alone can answer. So whether worship is a task for you or a delight is what you are about to know. Or to study about. Praise the name of the Lord. And that is the topic of our short exhortation. Worship a task or a delight. Praise the name of the Lord. Psalm 1133. It says, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. That the Lord's name is to be praised. So it's not only in the comfort of the church. From the rising, because you are not in the church 24-7 now, are you? You are in other places. So from the rising of the sun, as soon as you wake up, your worship starts. In your everything you do. True worship is not confined only to what we do in church. Rather, it is the acknowledgement of God's power and glory in everything we do. From the east to the west. From the north to the south. And anywhere we find ourselves. Praise the name of the Lord. So worship is continuum. There's no end to it. Sometimes you are sleeping, you wake up worshiping. It only tells you your spirit man has, you know, ascended to a level that you don't understand. But you wake up with that song in your mouth. So even when you are sleeping, some are worshiping. Praise the name of the Lord. May the Almighty God, you know, quicken our mortal bodies and spirit to worship Him in truth and in spirit. I didn't hear her name. Praise Master Jesus. The highest form of worship is obedience to the word of God. Obedience to God and His word. That's the highest form of worship you can think about. Praise the Lord. What do we say the topic of our discussion is? Worship. A task or a delight. So we are looking at worship as a delight now. For worship to be a delight or a joyful activity to a believer. When you believe God and you are standing in the gap. You are saved and your house is preserved too. The Almighty God will continue to preserve us in the name of Jesus. Number three. You must hold on to the conviction about the truth in the word of God that you have believed. You must hold that conviction very seriously. And that serious faith comes about. True spiritual worship comes to us naturally. Which song do you like to hear? This thing will just be coming out from within you. As if you know it is embedded in your spirit. Almighty God will teach us more in the name of Jesus. Worship a task or a delight. You have looked at worship as a delight. Now worship as a task. Praise Master Jesus. Worship becomes a task or a body song to a believer. When there are unconfessed sins. Or there are some grey areas of our lives that we have not completely yielded to God. Worship becomes body song. Worship becomes a task. You know something you are struggling to do. But when you say delight it comes naturally. It flows from the inside of you out. And minister to those God has sent you to. The anger is still in you. You are in church. You are raising holy hands. And Ephesians 4 verse 36. Grieve not the Holy Spirit. Praise the name of the Lord. Please make a connection. He said grieve not the Holy Spirit. And here you are you have destroyed. The anger is still raging. You are even planning of when you leave church what you will do again. And you are seated in the presence of God. Please check us. These things happen to most of us. Praise the name of the Lord. John 4 verse 24. He said God is a spirit. And God do worshipping in truth and in spirit. So when the spirit of anger has possessed you. Which of that spirit are you using to worship God? Praise the name of the Lord. You know in that position everybody is singing. Your mouth is moving. But your heart is not there. People see you. You are singing with them. Your heart is not there. Am I talking to somebody? It happens most times to us. And that makes the worship meaningless. Your worship at that time is meaningless. Because you are not flowing in the spirit. And you can only worship God in spirit and in truth. Praise the name of the Lord. Let me tell you another scenario. How you, now is how we prepare for worship. How we prepare for worship. For adventure, a business associate is coming to your house. Or you are expecting a VIP guest. The tendency is that you will be preparing. You want to give the person the best choice of drinks. Good food. And you want to give that house an ambience that when the person comes you say oh yes. Correct. Stop deceiving yourself. That is why you will bring out the gold cutlery you have kept for the one year ago. You will bring out the serving dish that has gold trimming. So that the person will know that it is happening in your house. Am I lying? So, you prepare for a VIP guest. In the same manner, the God of Heaven is a VIP extraordinaire. The greatest VIP. So when you are preparing to worship God. You must take note of the fact that you are expecting a VIP that is above all VIPs. And how do you conduct yourself in that manner? Praise Master Jesus. So before you ever say... We have Shekere 2.0. If you have not been preparing, you will take some time out to go and pray. And say God, Father if I am coming, you must meet me at the point of my need. You must prepare. You don't just come because they say come and do Shekere and you come and be heated. When you go, you go back the same way. It will not be our portion today. Going forward in the name of Jesus. Praise Master Jesus. Like Shekere 2.0, the opening prayer, they say they must be delivered. There must be a transformation in our life. There must be a change in how we do things. You must enter. The word of God says enter his gates. With praise. You must prepare beforehand to enter the presence of God during this worship today. Your heart and mind must be expecting that you are coming to meet with the God of Heaven. You are coming to meet with a VIP extraordinaire. You are coming to meet with your healer. You are coming to meet with your deliverer. You are coming to meet with all that can save you. You are coming to meet with your maker, your creator, your battler. Your strong power. That's why I said the opening prayer was in the spirit. Even the choir. With the beauty of his holiness. Psalm 29 verse 2 says. Give unto the Lord glory due unto him. You cannot give the glory of God to a Kure Kure God. That is made in the heart of man. That you take in the pocket, carry from one location to the other. You cannot give the glory of God to such things. Hi. Come give us understanding. In the name of Jesus. He said worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness. Therefore. We must meditate in the word of God. We must try as much as possible to know the meaning of the words of our songs. You just don't sing before you curse yourself. If you don't know the meaning or the meaning of the word. Please endeavor to know it. Before you start singing the right thing. Don't just sing because you can't mind. Maybe because you don't know the word. But try to know the meaning of what you are singing. It will go a long way. Praise the name of the Lord. Praise Master Jesus. So we must carefully prepare to meet our maker. As we have said. It is important too. That we conduct ourselves properly. And in order. While worshiping. That is not the time to be pressing your phone. That is not the time to be gossiping with the next neighbor. In worship season. Your focus. Your mind. Your heart. Everything must be towards God Almighty. Please give me first Corinthians 14.40. First Corinthians 14.40. Praise the name of the Lord. Let all things be done. Distantly and in order. All God of the nations. Of your villages. Of your cities. Of anywhere you find yourself. The Gods of the nations. It says they are all idols. If your community is worshiping snakes. You know you are worshiping idols. If you are worshiping elephants or something. You are worshiping idols. The Gods of the nations are all idols. Praise the name of the Lord. But. The Lord made the heavens. Our God made the heavens. He's got the whole world. Elephants. He's got the whole wide world. Elephants. He's got the whole world. Elephants. He's got the whole world. Elephants. Our God is seated in the heavens. And controls everything. You don't put it in the pocket. It's not made by man. The ones you put in the pocket. They have mouth. They cannot talk. They have eyes. They can't see. They have ears. They can't hear. But our God sees. Our God hears when we cry to Him. Our God speaks to us. Praise the name of the Lord. They that make them are like they are unto them. And so is everyone that trusted in them. You are trusting the babalawo that God of heaven created. That He can recreate you. How possible is that? So you are us. That's babalawo. That's what you say. As believers we are conformed to the image of the Son of God in our worship. We take on the transformation of the likeness of God in our worship. But when you go through this babalawo and this much more God. Kure kure I call them. Kure kure God. You take on their likeness. You become like them. Because they have pocketed you already. Carrying you from one location to another. Creating fear in your life. Go and do this. If not you will die. Go and do that. If not you will die. They are manipulating you. And they have pocketed you. Somebody shout I refuse to be pocketed. True. Believers make hay. Hark into the voice of God. No other God but the God of heaven alone. All miniature gods. They are idols. We will never worship. Mommy God. I will never worship. Mommy God. We will never worship. Mommy God. Mommy God. Thank you. Lastly it says Psalm 34 verse 8. Psalm 34 verse 8 it says. O taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Put your trust in the God of heaven. He is good. He is your savior. He is your deliverer. He is the one that can provide for you. He is a way maker. He is the way, the truth and life. Praise the name of the Lord. In conclusion. Worship is a form of offering to God almighty. And unless our hearts and minds are yielded and are ready. Our worship is meaningless. At this junction. If you are seated here. And you have. Maybe you find yourself in that anger situation. Or it may not be anger. Maybe you are quarreling with your husband before leaving the house. Or something you know. Has destructed your spirit before you come to church. And you want to say Lord.
