The Supreme Court of India has ruled that the appointment of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Sasikala, has no legal authority. The court has stated that the decision on the validity of the appointment lies with the Governor of Tamil Nadu and not with the ruling party. Sasikala's claim to power has been challenged by another party member, O. Panneerselvam.
