Keturioliktas (enhanced)

The Varpas was an important periodic publication that started in 1889 after the Dawn of Liberty was banned. It continued and deepened the ideas of the Dawn, but expressed an even stronger political tone. The Varpas called on Lithuanians to resist russification and promoted the concept of statehood. Varpas buvo tar vienas svarbus periodinės leidinys, tudėtas leisti 1889 metais, po to, kai buvo natrūkta aušros leibiba. Nesako dirkos redaguojamas, šis leidinys tęsi ir gilina aušros pradėtas idėjas, bet išreiškia dar iškesnį politinį toną. Varpas ragino lietuvius priešintis rusifikacijai ir skatino valstybingumo sampratą.
