In this video, Paul from NetChat TV discusses whether or not to carry a firearm with a round in the chamber. He believes it is practical to carry with one in the chamber as it allows for a quicker draw and eliminates the risk of a jam. He suggests practicing drawing with one in the chamber and using fresh ammunition regularly. He emphasizes the importance of muscle memory and reflexes when carrying a firearm. Ultimately, he believes it is safer to carry with one in the chamber if you are comfortable and practice that way. He concludes by wishing everyone safety and strength. Hello everyone, Paul here from NetChat TV. Welcome back for another exciting episode of 2A in New Jersey. I get a lot of questions asking me whether or not you should carry with one in the chamber and you know a lot of people say no. I guess it's a personal preference if you're not comfortable carrying with one in the chamber then I guess you shouldn't but in all practicality it's it's very difficult to draw your weapon and get it on target if you have to rack that slide and you know you got to worry too sometimes if you go to rack that slide and you get a jam you're going to be in trouble. I think the rule is 25 feet 25 feet or 22 feet if somebody's 22 feet from you and running after you it takes like two seconds for him to get get on to you so I would suggest you carry one in the chamber and I mean that's how I practice when I go to the range I practice my holster draw with one in the chamber and I mean that's how I carry with one in the chamber. Do I really need to? I say yes I do. If time ever comes and I hope it never does that I need to use and pull that weapon out for whatever reason I want it to be ready and able to fire so I don't I don't mess around and you know keep keep an empty chamber also you know you got to remember I use critical defense ammo here in New Jersey or critical duty I use either one but also you need to cycle that ammo I would I would probably say every 10 to 12 months that you have that ammo because it does attract moisture and stuff can get in there I would cycle it when you go to the range shoot it get rid of it and put fresh ammo in there and I think my my magazines I get rid of them probably every five years I recycle them unless you can get a new spring to put in there because the springs they start to lose their tension and that's how you start to get jams you know you don't get that feed from the magazine into the chamber so that's how you can get get some get some jams so I mean that's my take on you know carrying with one in the chamber or not I know a lot of people probably feel it's safer without it but you know you got to get you you have to carry the way you practice and it's all memory you know muscle memory and you know reflexes and you just you know when you're at the range and you're practicing draw and you have one in the chamber you know your mind is set that when you pull that weapon out and present it and get on target it's gonna fire when you pull the trigger now if you keep practice that way and then you when you carry out in the streets you carry with nothing in the chamber in a in a situation your mind is going to go right back to that muscle memory it's gonna just pull it out and you're gonna click click I'm gonna have any any round in the chamber and it's gonna be dangerous so that's my take on it and that's it so just another little tidbit from NetChat TV and I just God bless America everybody out there be safe I thank you for you know signing up on my website and just be safe stand strong God bless
