episode 3 of D-Gens Podcast
In this episode of D-Gen's Podcast, the hosts discuss their fantasy football teams and their performance in the previous week. They also review the games from the week, including the Vikings-Eagles game, the Ravens-Bengals game, the Raiders-Bills game, the Bucs-Bears game, the Colts-Texans game, and the Packers-Falcons game. They highlight standout players and discuss their predictions for the games. Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of D-Gen's Podcast. Today is Tuesday, September 19th, and I'm sitting next to Andrew Wagner, co-creator and host. Yeah, man, that was a wild week too. How'd your fantasy teams do? I can honestly say that all four of my teams were victorious. I was very excited with the results. How would you say your teams went? Out of seven, I had three wins, four losses, so not great, and then betting just fucking sucked. I don't know what it is, but there's something going on with one of my legs in each of my parlays. I need to stay off the parlays for a little bit. It doesn't sound like the best week for you. I'm sorry to hear that, but we definitely have a couple of good things to look over this week. That includes our game overview. We're going to look over our fantasy match-ups, talk about the labor wire, and look into our wages at the end of the week. Let's get into the first game of the week. Okay, yeah, let's start with the Thursday game. That was the Vikings-Eagles game. That was a horrible display of football in the beginning. I was getting really pissed off because no team wanted to keep it and try and score. Then it finally started getting going, and there was a ton of fantasy points to be had in that game. I picked the Eagles to cover seven when we did the show last week and creeped down to six and a half. They ended up not covering either, but that just had Vegas stench all over it. The Vikings are not a good football team. They are frauds. Be all over fading them all year. They won almost eight games last season by one point or less. They were frauds last year, too. People figured it out. They're the same old same. It's the same story. DeAndre Swift, career-high rushing, 175 yards. He had a great output. I remember you telling me that was a bad fantasy pick. Yeah, sometimes I eat my words. Well, I mean, it is only week two, but Kirk Cousins showed out. He had what? Four tutties, like a 40-foot point match. Tell them about my boy Jordan Addison. Yeah, the rookie Jordan Addison put out at USC. He was very prime in a lot of draft talk, the actual NFL draft talk. He's a lineup starter. Yeah. He's a good player. He's an athlete. All right. Well, let's move on to the next game. We got the Ravens versus the Bengals, and that one's in Cincinnati. This game definitely came down to a close one with the 27 to 24 victory going in the Ravens' direction, but last week, I said to take the Ravens' money line, and it hit, and honestly, I didn't see why it wouldn't hit, because the Ravens are a really, really good team, and why should that be discounted just because they're in Cincinnati playing Joe Burrow? He is the chosen one. You know, like, ultimately, they did find success on the ground, even without JK Dobbin, so if you do find some shares in this Justice Hill or Gus Edwards, they're definitely going to be looking forward to continue that run game going. Yeah. Joe Burrow, man. He's always such a slow start. I mean, I know it's only week two, but Joe Burrow managers are panicking. My little brother last night told me that he wants to quit fantasy football already because he hates how Joe Burrow's doing, and it's only week two. Well, keep an eye on that tweetcast of his, and I can definitely say if there's somebody to keep an eye on after that game, it is Zay Flowers. He is also a continuous lineup starter from now on, and that guy looks like he is Lamar Jackson's favorite target. If you got him in the draft, you're feeling good right now. Oh, yeah. Definitely. I like Zay. Let's go on to the next one. The next one is another one that we called correctly. That was the Raiders going to play Bills in Buffalo. The Bills blew them out 38-10, Josh Allen cooked up three touchdowns. Speaking of cooked, James Cook had a great game. This was like a great breakout game for him. I was very happy to see that. He got a hundred and twenty-three yards on the ground. Gabe Davis almost had a hundred yards in the air. He was able to get a touchdown. I know a lot of Gabe Davis owners were happy with that. It was a good game. It was well expected. It was just one of those ones that you were just happy to see happen because that's exactly how you expect it in the game. The Bills actually showed up like the team we were expecting last year. Yeah. The Raiders, Josh Jacobs finished with negative nine rushing yards, which is like the first time someone's finished with negative rushing yards in a game since the merger. Fun little fact. Yeah. It was pitiful. All right. Well, moving on to our next game. We did the Bucks versus Bears, and I told you to jump on the money line for this one. Unfortunately, that did not fall in my direction. That is very disappointing because a lot of people were thinking that Justin Fields has been the answer to elevate this team, but unfortunately, he still has not shown any reason to believe that he is the answer to solve their offensive problems. No. If you watch the tape, he's just clueless out there. Yeah, he's an athlete, but he's missing wide open guys. People aren't bought into him. I mean, 16 for 29 and 211. That is not okay in the NFL, but if I can tell you what is okay in the NFL is a man named Mike Evans. This guy went off for six receptions, 171 yards and a TD. This guy's got to be one of the most disrespected players in the NFL. Not only could he not reach a contract with his team, but this guy is averaging 1,000 yards a year. No matter who it is, Baker Mayfield, Tom Brady, it doesn't matter, and then on top of it, his ADP going in this year was around like 65 to 70. That's insulting for a player that has been this good for that long. If you guys have him on your team, I'm hoping that you guys are just loving what he is giving you in the beginning of this year. Yeah, definitely output is great right now. Rashard White, though, he's finally getting ... He had 16 for 73. I was really glad to see him get on the board. I'm very high on him this year because he's kind of a solo pony show down there. Yeah. So, yeah, let's go ahead and move into the next day game. We had the Indianapolis Colts head to Houston. We had the battle of the rookies, the first round drafted rookies. We have Richardson taking on C.J. Stroud. In the first half of that game, it was all Anthony Richardson. He looked awesome. He looked like that huge upside quarterback that we thought we were going to get. He had two rushing touchdowns. He did exit the game with a concussion. And then after he exited the game, C.J. Stroud went off. I mean, he was on his route for 400 yards. He was actually pretty far. Zach Moss almost rushed for 100. He had 88 yards and a touchdown. Nico Collins had almost $1.50 at 146 and a touchdown. There was a lot of fantasy points in that game, but it didn't go the exact way that I said it was. I said take the Colts. The Colts ended up getting the dub, and Anthony Richardson won the battle of the rookies. Man, shame about the concussion. Yeah. You got to watch that. We'll see if he's able to play next week, but I see the kid trying to push the play. All right. Next up is a close to heart game for our friend Andrew. It is the Packers versus the Falcons. And this one was located in Atlanta. Unfortunately, once again, I gave you guys bad advice. I told you to take minus one on the Packers, and that's because I believe in Jordan Love. But just because they didn't win that game does not mean you should stop believing in this guy. Guys, he's played two games this season, and he's thrown six touchdowns and absolutely zero interceptions. Two of these touchdowns, though, were Jalen Reed. Jaden. And I got to tell you, I had no idea who this guy was going into this game, but he is available in a lot of way for wires. And with Christian Watson still out, you should guys look into some shares. Yeah. I mean, I think Watson's going to make his way back to the lineup next week. We're definitely looking to get a lot healthier next week. We just had everybody and their mother was out. Watson didn't play. Jones didn't. Aaron Jones didn't play. David Bakhtiari didn't play, which I don't know if you've seen the rumors about this, but they're saying that Bakhtiari sat because it was on a turf field. Did you see that at all? That's a good point. Yeah. They're saying Bakhtiari literally sat because it was a turf field. He goes out week one against the Bears, falls out. It's the number one pass-blocking left tackle in the league. And then since week two, I mean, he's always been an injury-prone guy. But he's been very vocal, especially after the Rodgers injury, about the turf and all that. I think he truly sat because it was on turf. That is the word that's coming out of the Packers rumor mill, I guess you would say. Well, that's intriguing. I actually didn't even know that. It pisses me the fuck off because I love that guy and I'm sorry for the just avid language on that because he's just such a good tackle and it's just a shame that we haven't gotten – it's kind of like with you and the Redkins and Trent Williams. I agree. We'll probably end up going somewhere after this year and give them a ton of good reps. Well, ultimately, this is the Packers and the Falcons. So I do love where you went with the Packers, but we do have to give the Falcons a little bit of love. And they did stun Cheesehead Nation. They started their season 2-0. But I think the biggest thing that I have to say about the Atlanta Falcons is I think it was nice for anybody that has an interest in Vijon Robinson. I actually got to see some of that electricity and, boy, was it sexy. I bet you the Drake London managers are happy just because they got to see a little bit of production. That guy's such a big body. He was giving Jair Alexander a decent amount of problems. Jair is a good corner. But yeah, moving into the next game is the Seattle Seahawks went to Detroit. And if you guys listen to me, I told you I said take the spread to be safe because we were getting five and a half. But I really hope that you heard me and you took the money line because I said this would be the upset of the week. And it was. It was fireworks. It was a great game. A ton of fantasy points to be had. Geno Smith kind of got back to Geno Smith. A little late game resurgence. Yeah, it was a good game. It was a fun game to watch. It was kind of what we expected. And it was exactly what I expected. I didn't expect it to go to OT. But that was a nice little week two fireworks. Great game. Well, moving on to the next one o'clock Sunday game was actually quite a disappointing one for me. It was the Chiefs versus the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. This was probably one of the most anticipated games this Sunday. And it was so poopy. I don't know what even to say about it. Because we were expecting so many points. This was last year's playoff matchup. Everybody was expecting big things. You got Trevor Lawrence who is just this new incredible athlete who is showing that he might be able to change the face of who the number one QB in the NFL is besides Patty Mahomes. But with a score of 17-9, like P. Law didn't even throw a touchdown. No. And you know, really the only touchdown that was like worth noting in that game was Pat Mahomes to Travis Kelsey. And the reason why I say that is because everybody knows that once Kelsey is back on the field, he's going to get them points. And that's really reassuring to see. Yeah, but that's, I mean, he's hobbling and they only got 17. I mean, the Jags don't have a horrible defense. But the fact that the Jags were only able to put up nine at home. I know Chris Jones came back and everything, but it just. That's a huge note, though. I forgot about that. Yeah, Chris Jones came back. Travis Kelsey came back. I mean, they had everybody and all they did was put up 17. I mean, this was a playoff rematch. They came through the Jaguars to show like, hey, we're here. It was just a really disappointment. Like I really thought they were set up to beat the Chiefs. Yeah, and the reason why I put an asterisk on the whole Chris Jones thing is because he was literally like the only recognizable defensive player on that Chiefs defense. And they finally paid him and he was holding out the whole entire time. And he made a huge fourth down sack, you know, to stop the momentum of that game. And, you know, it is huge to have these all-stars on your team. You've got to pay them. He did. So let's go ahead and transition to the game that we actually did not give you guys a pick on. It was that Chargers-Titans game. It went into overtime. It was a thrilling game. I don't know how we missed not putting a pick on that. We're new to this and we're stupid and we're getting there and we're working on it. But it was a great game. It definitely didn't end the way I thought it would have. Yeah, I mean, who expected Justin Herbert and the Chargers to be 0-2 at this point? You know, a lot of people are expecting big things from him. And he did show good stuff, like him and Keenan Allen connected twice in the end zone. Allen ended up with 111 receiving yards. So a lot of people are in love with, you know, the Keenan Allen, you know, respective things. But, you know, honestly, if you're a Chargers fan, you're not in love with what's going on. And especially with this Austin Eckler injury, I've been getting notifications all day that there's no timetable. I'm not saying he's done for the season, but it's never good when nobody can tell you what to expect. Yeah, that is not great. And then I even picked up Josh Kelly, who's another one we'll be mentioning about the waiver wire. I even picked him up in a couple of weeks, and he didn't do dick that game. Very disappointing. Yeah, well, unfortunately, the Titans did pull this one out after a late field goal in overtime. But, you know, I think we need to throw a little love towards Tannin Hillsway because you went 20-for-24 that game, an 83% on, you know, your success rate. That's really freaking good, and nobody even saw that. And, of course, Derrick Henry did what Derrick Henry does. You know, you give him the ball, he's going to score a touchdown. But I think no matter what comes out of this game, I think everybody is still shocked to see that Justin Herbert and the Chargers are sitting at 0-2. Yeah, I definitely am. I was very up on Justin Herbert this year. I only have him in one of my leagues, but I still thought he was going to have a great year. All right, so another game that we have moving to our four o'clock games was the Giants going to Arizona to play the Cardinals. We actually did not pick anything for that one as well. Now, the reason because of that is because that was a Monday night game, was the Giants-Cowboys, and we were recording this Monday night. That hadn't ended, so we didn't have any lines on that yet. This game did kind of go the way that I would have ended up thinking with the final score, a Giants three-point victory, but if you were to watch that game, that game did not go in any way, shape, or form of what anybody would have thought. Yeah, nobody would have guessed. I mean, the Cardinals went up 20-0 and were just beating down on the Giants. The Giants ended up coming all the way back and winning by three. Bullshit. Saquon got hurt in that game, which has finally revealed he just has a regular old ankle sprain, which is great news. Daniel Jones ended up getting a ton of fantasy points. In the first half, he had like three. He ended up with like 37. Jeez. Yeah. James Conner doing James Conner things, another one of my picks that I just love. You were able to get them so late, and he's just a workhorse. That boy just runs downhill. It was a good fantasy output game. You know, I mean, if I was a Giants fan, I would be a little bit happy. And, you know, based on your first game and your first half, there was 60 points scored against you, and you had no points in your direction. They're very lucky to not have won. But to get 28 in one half is nice. Like, I have to say, I do like that guy Gable as your head coach. He's got a lot of love for you guys. He's got a lot of smart kids. You can't be playing games like that, especially against the Cardinals. You're just showing your true colors in a division that is going to be very, very difficult. Yeah. That's a hard decision. I mean, the Commanders are 2-0 right now. I'm on. Yeah. There's a lot of records out there that are not what we expected for sure. But that's the NFL. That's how football goes at first. That's how football goes all year. That's just how it is. All right. Well, enough said about that game. Let's move on to the Rams 49ers game. This one we did actually call. But it did not go in our favor due to a bad vibe. We said that the 49ers would win by eight. And if the Rams did not kick a last-second field goal, that meant nothing to the game. It would have covered. But, unfortunately, they did hit it. And that is just such a bad beat. That's not just a bad beat. That's Vegas intervening. That's not even a conspiracy. That's it. It was an eight-point spread. And if it wasn't an eight-point spread, it was seven-and-a-half or eight-and-a-half. That field goal changed the entire outcome, especially over-unders and everything. It's bullshit. Well, besides how things went in wagering, the game was actually kind of interesting. Yeah. I definitely thought this game was going to be a 49ers blowout because the Rams came out and beat the Seahawks the first matchup. And not a lot of people expected that. But I knew that the 49ers were really going to bring out who the Rams were. But if there's anything I have to say is, who the hell is Puka Nakua? Puka Nakua. This guy literally has 25 receptions in the first two games. And that's for well over 266 yards. This guy is a monster. I don't know what to expect out of him once Cooper Cuff comes back. But, man, Matt Stafford has found the guy that he likes to go to. Now, even though that guy was obviously all over the place, he still hasn't found the end zone. But the guy who did find the end zone is a guy named Kyron Williams. He found it twice. And that's kind of a big problem for our man Cam Akers, who's now starting to look like he might be on the trading block for a possible trade to a team that really needs a starting running back. He's definitely on the trading block. McVay said it without saying it. He's going to be on a new football team soon. And we're seeing a lot of injuries and a lot of need for the running back position. I see a lot of spots being filled soon. Yeah, and I'll tell you what, those 49ers, they're looking ridiculous. They were running all over that Rams defense. And it was kind of nice to see Devo Samuel actually do something because he's been going high in drafts then. He got somewhere around like 100 all-purpose yards then. Yeah, he did good. That's what those guys do. My boy Aiyuk didn't, too. I like Aiyuk this year, too. I think that he's the guy this year. It was a bad day for him. It's all good. He'll have a good season. I'm not worried about it. Let's jump over into your commander's broncos. You had a personal bad beat with that last-second Hale-Russ. God, what a game. That did not go the way that I told you guys to pick. That went over. I told you to take under. There were 68 freaking points in that game. I was not expecting that at all. It was a shootout. The commanders ended up winning 35 to 38, but it was just a wild game. I couldn't be happier. I'll tell you right now, if you guys took Brian Robinson Jr. in the late rounds, oh, my God, he is looking feisty. He is going to be something to look forward to the rest of the season. Antonio Gibson is still kind of coming in here and there, and unfortunately, if Brian Robinson Jr. just keeps running the way he does, there's no way they're giving up those first reps to Antonio Gibson. Yeah. I like Denzel Mims too, man. Russ was really liking him. Yeah. It was a game to keep an eye out on. Yes. What is it? The second-year guy? No, not Denzel Mims. I'm sorry. Marvin Mims. Denzel Mims wasn't ever going to play. He's definitely not playing, but Marvin Mims. Russ was chopping it to him, and he was making some great catches. Yeah. I mean, we can't discount any of the players on the Broncos, but let's be honest, go Commanders. We're 2-0. It hasn't happened in quite some time. All right. Well, the next game was the Cowboys-Jets, and this was another one, guys, where we did not put a bet because we just did not have the appropriate research and lines set for us because it was a late game. Well, you had a brain which was weird. You hammered the Cowboys. Yes. If you wanted to speak in hindsight, we would have told you to pound the absolute crap out of the Cowboys. Like, who could see Zach Wilson going into Cowboys and just doing anything? Now, it was nice to see that Garrett Wilson could actually come up with something despite the QB play that he's forced to work with again, but, dude, that freaking Cowboys defense is one of the highest scoring fantasy football positions or players, whatever you want to call it right now, just because of its last two weeks. Micah Parsons is definitely campaigning to be Defensive Player of the Year, and if you can't score on these guys, they're going to kill you because CeeDee Lamb is just going off this year a solid, what, like 111 yards this last game, if I'm not correct? Something ridiculous. I think he was over 100. I think he was 143, dude. Yeah, he was 143. 11 receptions for 143. That is just absolutely absurd. Yeah, Cowboys are a good team. I hate to say it, but Cowboys are a good team. Unfortunately, morale is down in New York. I am so sorry for you guys. After everything that happened with Aaron Rodgers, I know how many season ticket holders were becoming a thing, and unfortunately, you're just going to have to roll with the punches, and I wish you guys all the best. Well, he's apparently trying to come back by the postseason now. That's good news. But anyway, let's move on. Let's move on to the last game of the day, which is actually another one that we didn't technically put anything on because we didn't really like it. But we did advise you to stay away from it. Yeah, and it ended up being a victory. You took the Miami Dolphins on the spread. Yeah, we were lying to you, man. Looking back, it looks crazy, but I did not want to have anything to do with that, especially a divisional game that involves Bill Belichick. Yeah, I mean, a couple of notes out of that game was Jalen Waddle exited with a concussion. Raheem Mostert was a dog. Tua threw for 250, about 249, and Tua is 5-0 against Bill Belichick. And leading the league in passing yards to boot. Yeah, the top four fantasy scoring positions are Tua, Tyreek Hill, Puka Nakua, and the Dallas fucking Cowboys defense. What the shit? Unbelievable. Did you hear Tyreek Hill? I love that guy. Yeah, he's a beast. Shout out Colt. He's got him in our league. Colt is up there for one of the top teams in the league right now. But that would complete our lovely Sunday. God's day. The best day. But we did get two games on Monday that ended up being pretty good. Yeah, I mean, it ended up being pretty good. The first one was that Saints-Panthers game. Yeah, let me take a hit at this one. This low-scoring NFC South showdown was everything I predicted. And I'm very happy about this one because there's nothing about either of those offenses that showed me that they deserve to be elite. But, you know, as the person that called it, I could not be happier because Bryce Young is still learning. And I know that I can't wait to see him win his first game. But, you know, he's just not in the position, and I don't see the tools quite there yet. With a 20-17 result, the Saints are starting to look like the worst-best team out there. They're 2-0 and honestly haven't shown me a damn thing. But for those of you that might be doubting Chris Olave, I know he hasn't found the end zone yet, but 21 targets and 14 receptions in two games for 198 yards, that ain't bad. I would keep trussing your gut with this kid. He's going to find it in one day. Passed his last game off, the Steelers versus Browns, the last Monday night slate to my man AWACS. Yeah, we were kind of back and forth on this game between the two of us. I thought it was going to be an under, divisional under. We love divisional unders. Pat was against that. He thought it was going to be the over. The over did end up hitting. The Steelers ended up covering. Minus 2.5. It was a great divisional game. TJ Watt is not human. He is one of those aliens that they said we have discovered. He's a beast. He had a pick six. He had a couple sacks. It just seemed like the ball was on the ground so much in this game. It was just bumble roosky all day. Yeah, it was a hell of a game, hell of a way to end out the week two slate. Now, if there was one thing that we could call a standout from this game was obviously Nick Chubb's injury. That was kind of gross. Yeah, that was awful. As of right now, they are saying it could be a season ender, so maybe look into his handcuff. But I think what's looking forward and down the road is maybe this whole picks bird theory. Because Pickett to George Pickens might be a real thing, and there is evidence to show in these last two games. Yeah, man, for sure. Now that we've finished off the week two stuff, let's talk about our actual league and our fantasy stuff. How'd you end up doing? Who'd you play? Well, I ended up playing your brother, Derrick Miller, who's You Want Philly Philly. I ended up taking the W in this one, and as much as I do want to say it's because of the likes of Saquon Barkley, Keenan Allen, and Mike Evans, I also kind of have to say he didn't start a player and he started as a Jones. Honestly, I probably could have lost this one, but I'm going to take the W this week just based on possible just roster selection. All right, well, how'd your game go? I smacked Colin around like a little girl. Oh, well, that's not okay. It was 179.2 to 134.3. Colin's team just didn't get off the bus. It's all good. I mean, it'll probably get me when we meet again, but I hammered him. I was the third highest scoring team, I think, this week. Fourth. Fourth. You were second. You put up a lot of points. All right, well, let's talk about the highest scorer of the week, and that goes to Jamie Amla with the very unique name of LaMarginal at Best. He beat Team Magikarp, which is the likes of Andy Gabell. This was actually a very high scoring matchup, so there's no shame in this defeat for Andy. But with the likes of having a starting LaMar draft him and Josh Allen, as we said on draft day, those guys, if they get a good week, they're going to put up mad points. And in this situation, they really showed. Yeah, that was definitely a high scoring game. The other good game, it was close, a 14-point deficit. It was Colt took on Will. Colt put up 180, and Will only put up 166. Colt got the dub. Colt is letting everybody know in the group chat that he is here to stay, that he is the team. He's the one to go through. He says the road runs through him. Oh, shut up. He ended up putting it up and putting out. Well, guys, if you want to keep up with our fantasy teams, we will be posting on our Instagram, so please just give it a look so you can feel free to comment on what we should do. Maybe you got some insight that we don't have. I'd love to hear it. Yeah, it's a community. We want to hear all kinds of stuff that you guys got, too. It's D underscore Gens underscore FFSB, and that's on Instagram. We also have a TikTok, too. We're getting all of this stuff off the ground. The main place is here to listen to the podcast to get your stuff, but we're going to be trying to put it all over the place throughout the week, but this is the main place to get your stuff. It's a one-stop shop. About an hour listening to get everything in. Well, let's move on to the next topic, and this is the reason why we want to get this out by Tuesday, and that's because of the dreaded waiver wire. I don't know how you guys have it set up, whether it's with a budget or if it's based on priority, but these are just a couple of names that we just derived that we think could possibly enhance your team going forward. One of the big ones, of course, is Joshua Kelly of the LA Chargers. As I said before, Austin Eckler is on a no timetable situation. As much as they are 0-2, I still believe in this offense, and under Justin Herbert, there is still something to be looked at with that running game. Yeah, another guy to check out would be Jerome Ford. He is the backup to Nick Chubb. Nick had a gruesome injury on Monday night, and Jerome actually was playing a little bit while Chubb was still in, but then he took over the reins after Chubb got hurt, and he looked good. He was explosive. He looks like he'll be able to fill in there. Almost had a 70-yard rushing touchdown. Got tripped right at the end. Now, the thing to keep an eye on, though, is how serious is Chubb's injury, and does Browns make a move to try and fill a spot? There's a lot of free agents out there, too. There's still a guy named Kareem Hunt. There's still a guy named Kareem Hunt. There's a few running backs out there that they could bring in, so keep an eye on that. But Ford's definitely one that I like. Well, the big one for me this week was Jalen Reed. Jalen, you idiot! And he looked like he had some rapport with Jordan Love, and I know he's still out there. A lot of people were scared to take the dive on him this week just because they're not sure of what to expect with Jordan Love, but he's putting up numbers. So, if that's the case, like, I want a piece of this offense, and I know he's going to be available in some way, one of your leagues. Yeah, and he's not going to be something that you may get production out of next week because we'll probably have a full arsenal next week, but the Packers have a very shaky lineup. They love to sit for like a game or two here and there, and that's where Reed could come in and be a really good plug and play. Now, if you guys were listening before, I also said something about trying to get a piece of that rushing offense for the Ravens. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to tell you who it's going to run through, whether it is Gus Buss or if it is Justice Hill, but with the way that Lamar Jackson is running again, there is going to be a viable flex option here. So, I would just keep an eye and maybe take a shot on one of them if you need a flex spot. Yeah, another one for a quick plug and play would be with Anthony Richardson exiting the game with a concussion. His backup is Gardner Minshew, who is not a bad quarterback. He could be someone if you're in a large deep league that you need someone to fill in real quick. Definitely go out there and get Gardner for your game for week three, but Anthony Richardson looks explosive. He's not going to be getting benched for Gardner Minshew any time soon. You'll just want to have him for that injury stuff. Hopefully his concussion doesn't last too long. Yeah, Anthony's a running quarterback, so he's going to put himself out there. Now, there's a couple other names we wanted to bring to your attention, not necessarily like anything that's going to change in your lineups, but with the loss of Saquon Barkley, there is going to be a new running back in town. It's either going to be Matt Breda or this Gary Brightwell, but that's on an offense that's very skeptical. And then also we did hear that Joe Burrow is possibly on the injury reserve, or not injury reserve, but injury suspect, let's just say that. I don't know what the tweak means, but, you know, I would, if he had to sit out, would like a piece of that offense going forward, because that is still a stellar offense. And the QB behind him is a guy named Jake Browning. Don't expect a lot of stuff out of him, maybe a plug and play, but just something to keep in mind. I mean, I'm definitely not going to do that myself. If someone else wants to do that, that's fine. That's definitely deeper league talk, though. Yeah, I would try and get him in a deep league if necessary, but besides that, try to avoid that. All right, AWACS, you know what time it is, right? Yep. It is our favorite time of the week, our favorite part of the episode. It's when we get to make our picks on the matchups that we like for week three. Let's start out with the Thursday night game. That's going to be the Giants going to San Francisco. I don't know if we have any Giants believers out there, but the line on this one is minus 11.5. I am kind of enticed to take that for the 49ers, but being that I'm kind of being a little sketchy about it, I'm going to buy this one down to minus 10. I can believe that the 49ers can beat this team by two scores, but I just want to make sure that if that does not happen, that I get my money. Minus 10 is what I'm going to go with. It's going to cost you a little bit of money, but I think it is the safe pick because 49ers are going to clearly win this game, but whether or not it's by a full two scores is where my line is drawn. Yeah, well, this is where you're going to want to try and shop around to because where he may have pulled that from is going to be different than other places. FanDuel right now is updated to 10.5, so you may not even have to buy that down. You may only have to buy a half point, but check around. Check DraftKings, check FanDuel, check Fanatics, betMGM, Barstool. They're giving rewards out in all these places. Use your free money and be able to shop those different rates. I mean, I do mortgages for a living. People shop interest rates all the time. Why can't you shop your odds rates? But I definitely agree with you. I am going to personally hammer the 49ers. I think we're going to smash the Giants. Yeah, the Giants do not look good. Yeah, I think I would take a Giants team total under if I personally took it. I mean, who knows? Maybe they got a spark after what happened, but that is – I cannot see it happening. Yeah, they're not doing well in prime time. So the next game that we have is going into our 1 o'clock slate. We are going to be looking at the – who do I have? I have the Texans-Jaguars. The Texans-Jaguars spread is 9.5 right now on FanDuel. Jags are obviously favored. They really looked like crap last week against the Chiefs, but, I mean, the Texans are not the Chiefs. C.J. Stroud is not Pat Mahomes. Dawson Schultz is not Travis Kelsey. It's going to be a different team. The Jags get a stern talking to from the old Dougie P, and they come out next week and wipe the floor with the Texans. I do expect them to cover that 10-point spread. Well, 9.5, and that's what I'm going to end up going with. Yeah, 9.5, once again, that's safe to me, so I'd take all that all day. Yeah. All right, well, for the next game, we're going to do the Chargers at Minnesota for the Vikings. And in this specific game, we have two different teams that are 0-2 that a lot of people don't think should be 0-2. Now, the Chargers are the favorite to me. I don't know if that's the case for everybody else because this is a game in Minnesota, but I refuse to believe that Jess and Herbert and this offense are going to go 0-3 to start this season because if they do, I don't know if they can recover being in that very, very difficult AFC West division. All right. I mean, the over-under on that game is 54.5, too, by the way. You know, to start the week, that looks like the highest score. And that's a high-scoring game. I almost was considering that as well, but I'm feeling a lot better just going with a Chargers victory because I don't believe that the Vikings are that great of a team. I do believe the Chargers are a good team. So just a flat money line? Straight-up money line. Road dogs. Road dogs. Speaking of dogs, let's talk about the Titans heading to the dog pound. They're going to Cleveland to pay the Browns. That line is set at 3.5 right now with the Browns favored. The Browns are favored 3.5, and Nick Chubb just went down. Go in and hammer that line. The Titans are going to come to town and cover that 3.5. I really like that. This is probably going to be my upset of the week, too. I think the Titans go in and get the win in Cleveland next Sunday at 1. I mean, honestly, part of me wants to disagree with you, but Mike Rabel is a lot better coach than a lot of people are giving it to him. I don't know why everybody just assumes the Titans are going to be just not good. He comes from the Belichick tree, man. But, I mean, if Tannenhill can keep it up, man, that team's got a defense and a run game. Yeah, for sure. Well, the next game to talk about is actually a very, very fruitful one for me, and that is because it is the Bills coming to the Washington Commanders. One of my close friends, Colin, is a big Bills fan. We're actually talking about going to this game. But, unfortunately, due to work, I am going to be behind a bar watching this game. But, nonetheless, it is still going to be enjoyable to watch. The Bills are expected to win this game by minus 6.5. As much as Colin's going to hate this, I'm actually going to buy up on the Commanders and go 7.5. And I only say that because the Commanders are a team that likes to control the offense and control the game clock. So, we're going to try to make sure that Josh Allen isn't on the field as much as he can be. I don't believe in our offense against their defense, but I do think we can keep this game within one touchdown. And if we can keep it in with one touchdown, that's going to hit the line that I'm calling. All in all, this is a game to prove whether or not we're a team to be respectable or not. If we can stay within this game, I love the future of the Commanders. But if the Bills come out and dominate us, this might just be another season going down the drain. Yeah, I like the idea of buying that point to get you over that hump to cover that one-score game. My next game I'm going to move into is we got the Indianapolis Colts coming to Baltimore to play the Ravens. The Ravens are favored by 8.5. I don't know if Anthony Richardson is going to play. This is a really hard one for me to pick a line on without knowing if Anthony Richardson suits up. So, I'll go ahead and do this. I think that this game is going to hit the over of the 44.5 that they have set for it. So, I'm going to set that. But if Anthony Richardson is playing, take the plus 8.5. If he is not playing, take the Ravens' minus 8.5. The line is probably going to change a little bit, but it's really hard to pick a spread when you've got a crucial player that may be in or out. I think this game gets over 44.5 either way. Because the Ravens are either going to put up a ton of points on the Colts and the Colts get a little bit, or it's going to be that Richardson-Jackson rushing shootout, which I'm hoping for. Yeah, I don't know. It definitely seems like we're playing the fence on that one just because of what happens with Anthony Richardson. So, I don't have a whole lot to say, but I would probably have gone the same route with maybe taking the over with this one. The Ravens could put up those points all alone, you know, by themselves. But, you know, it just definitely does depend what comes out midweek. Well, moving on to our next game, we are going to have the Falcons at the Lions in Detroit. And for me, this is what I'm calling my pick of the week. Yes, this is good. They have the Lions right now favored at minus 3. That, to me, is devastating. I have no reason to believe that the Atlanta Falcons should be 2-0 right now. Desmond Ritter has shown me nothing. And unfortunately, that offense in Detroit under Dan Quinn is absolutely just ridiculous. Dan Campbell. Oh yeah, Dan Campbell, excuse me. I fucked up. Those guys are killing it right now. There's something to be proud of if you're a Detroit Lions fan right now. And unfortunately, we did lose David Montgomery this week. But for somebody like myself, who has shares in Jameer Gibbs, I am so excited. I can't wait to see what this kid can do now that he's got the ball coming his way more often. He's a really impressive player. And I do have a little side bet going on that there's a possibility that he could have better numbers than Bijon this year. And if that happens, woo, you boys are going to be stoked. Well, he needs to pick it up because Bijon went off. I really hope that he gets the work that I think he should get with the David Montgomery stuff. But we'll see. But once again, Lions minus three pounds, the hell out of that. There is no way they're going in there to beat them that way. Yeah, I like that. I hate to cheer for the Lions or get behind the Lions, but I think you're right on that one. Next game that we have at 1 o'clock is actually my Packers playing the Saints. The Saints are coming to Lambeau. This is going to be Jordan Love's home opener. The Saints just played Monday night against the Panthers. They ended up getting the dub against them. But I think they go to Green Bay and catch them out. I think Green Bay is going to hold off and cover the two-point spread. But the money line is only minus 126. And personally, I don't want to mess with Vegas and those points. I'd rather just take the money line and walk out of there kind of like we did in the Bears game. I think the Packers cover easily, and I think you have no problem taking that. But me personally, I'm going to circle the money line on my part. Not bad. All right, well, moving into the 4 o'clock games on Sunday, I'm going to start off with the Dallas Cowboys going to the Arizona Cardinals. Once again, this is a game I'm not in love with. But the over 43.5 is where I'm leaning. And just like how Andrew was saying before with that Ravens game, based on what the Cowboys have done so far, their defense alone could put up that many points. They've already showed that they can do that. So if that's the case, even if the Cardinals get a few points on the board, that's only going to help the cause. So my best advice is take the over at 43.5. But this is definitely not my favorite bet this week. Yeah, I can see that. I am not loving that one very much either. But I know you said moving into the 4 o'clock. We did have one more 1 o'clock. It is the Broncos. Oh, no, we suck again. The Broncos are getting 6.5 heading to Miami. Miami is a minus 295 Moneyline favorite, so a heavy favorite. We just saw the Commanders go to Denver and beat them. I think that the Broncos are going to get a little altitude sickness in the reverse when they go down to sea level in Miami and swim with the Dolphins. I think they are going to pound them. The defense for Denver is really good. So I don't know how big of a spread they're going to get to, but I do think they win by a touchdown. So I am going to take the Dolphins minus 6.5. Well, I'm actually going to disagree with that one. The Miami Dolphins are actually the better team here, and I would actually usually agree with AWACS on this one as well. But we have an 0-2 team as well as a 2-0 team. Miami Dolphins, they've been looking really, really good. And if I was Vegas, I would have the Denver Broncos covering with a plus 6.5. But that's my personal intake. You're playing a conspiracy angle. That's very, very true. This is all superstitious. All right. Well, before I screwed up and I started with the 4 o'clock games, but going back to the 4 o'clock games, we also have the Panthers and the Seahawks. This is going to be located in Seattle. Once again, I don't love this game, so I'm not going to, you know, cheap out and take the over or the under. I'm actually going to buy down on the Seahawks to minus 4. And the reason why I'm doing that is because I'm too cheap to go for the minus 3, but I have a feeling they're going to win in a situation where they're going to need to make the Panthers score a touchdown, not just a field goal. So if that's the case, I don't have a lot of trust in Bryce Young. He's still learning, and until he can get his shit caught up, I'm going to take Seahawks minus 4 on this game. I'm going to agree with you a little bit. I'm going to disagree with the buying of points. I think Seattle wins this game by double digits. That's actually a very good point. A lot of people, something that we don't talk about is that you can buy down and buy up. And in this certain case, you could put a lot more points on the spread to give you higher wages. And based on what Andrew's saying is, you know, he could put the game up by 14 points. And if that hits, that's almost double the amount of money that you're waging. I wouldn't go that much. But you could maybe juice it to get even money at like six and a half, which would be very favorable. I think they cover by a score easily. Like I said, I think it's a double-digit victory. I think they have the Panthers. Another game in the late window is we got the Bears heading to play the Chiefs at Arrowhead. This is the largest spread on the card for Week 3. The Bears are a Canadian football team. They're trash. I just don't know. I mean, it's hard to take a 14-point spread or a 13-and-a-half-point spread in the NFL. But I just can't bet on the Bears. I'm going to bet the Chiefs team total over in this game, which is coming in at 30-and-a-half points. So if the Chiefs can score 31 points on those crappy Bears, then you're going to cash, which I think they will. I think they put up 40-something on the Bears. Yeah, I want to see the Bears do something. But unfortunately, I just don't see it being this week. No. But moving on to the Sunday night slate, we've got the Steelers going to Las Vegas to play, as Andrew likes to say, the Raiders. Yes. In this game, I'm taking the under, which is 44-and-a-half. After watching the Monday night game and seeing what that Pittsburgh defense is very capable of, I feel like they just haven't been able to show the rest of the world what it can do against a team that's below average. They played the 49ers, and they didn't get a show up there. They played the Browns, and they really got to show that their defense isn't to be messed with. But a matchup against the Raiders, I think they're going to kind of hurt them a little bit. But with the Raiders missing a possible Devontae Adams with a concussion this week coming up, I don't know if they're going to put up enough points, and I think it's going to come down to the Steelers just running this game with their defense. And as much as this little Pittsburgh thing might be a thing, until it transpires into an active lineup set, I'm going to continue with the under. All right, I like that. I think that's a good call. That will finish off Sunday, and then we've got two more games on Monday, like we had this past Monday. The game I'm going to talk about is we've got the Bengals. We've got the Rams coming to town. The Rams are just such an odd team this year. It's really hard for me to put a finger on, and the Bengals are what you'd think would be an awesome team, and they can't do shit. So this is a really hard game. I mean, the line's at minus two and a half. Joe Burrow might not play. This is a game that I'm probably going to stay away from. I'm probably going to watch the whole week and see how the cards go, and maybe throw a few random things in there. But I'm going to probably take a Rams team total over or a Bengals team total under. I don't know. This is a weird game. Do you like anything with it? This is definitely a game where you want to keep your eye on, like, maybe a game prop or player prop, stuff like that. I have to agree with him as well that I don't love this game because we don't know enough yet. But, you know, once things start to come out, like, use the tools in front of you to come up with a good decision. You know what I mean? If there is a possibility that they're playing a weak defense, like maybe put some love on the running game, or maybe, you know, if they've got weak cornerbacks, put some love in the wide receivers. If they've got a terrible QB, maybe put some love in the tight end. I'm not here to tell you what to do, but I want to give you an idea of what's possible. You just need to look at what's available in front of you and just make an educated decision. But as for that game, we're going to do what's right and kind of... Stay away. Pass. Yep. Stay away. Now, going into the last game of the week, this is another one that I absolutely love, but my superstition is starting to take over again. We have the Eagles going into Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers, and I'll tell you right now, the Buccaneers are absolutely just terrible, but yet they're 2-0. Baker Mayfield's producing something, and, you know, as much as I'm here talking shit, I still do not believe that that is an offense to be worried about. Right now the line is sitting at minus 5.5. Everything about me screams, take the Eagles. They are a far better team. They are going to smoke them. But my superstition is telling me to take the plus 5.5 to Tampa Bay. I don't know why, but it just looks like the Eagles are the much better team, and if they can keep this any bit close, I would really love to see an upset taking the Bucs plus 5.5. That would be great for your little division there, and the Redskins could get a top to Eagles. You see where my biases are. I do. I don't see that happening. As much as I am about Baker Mayfield and his resurgence, I think that the Eagles' defense is way too much for that Bucs offense to handle. I think that they're going to go down there and dish them a loss of at least one score, one touchdown at least. I mean, dude, they could go out there and just whip their ass. Yeah, but that line is ratty. I smell a rat with that line. I don't love it. I think you're right with your conspiracy theory stuff, but I think— You got to take a shot, and that's all I'm saying. Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with the Eagles on that one, but I can see where your head's at. Plus, I am not a fan of the Eagles. Yeah, well, we know that. But, yeah, I mean, that wraps up our slate for week three. We are doing well with our picks overall. I mean, if you've been following us pick for pick, you are still in the green. We're hoping to have a good little bounce back, go more in the green in week three. But we are definitely making money. And, guys, please tune in. We have some future talks about producing some more episodes for you guys. We got a little bit more time on our hands. We just have so much content that's available, and the only way to get it to you is by creating more time. And, you know, maybe down the road, we'll be looking at a separate show that might involve our fantasy and match-up review. And then by the end of the week, we can give you a firmer analysis on what our wages look like and introduce maybe some DFS. Yeah, like we'll probably do a recap in the beginning of the week episode, and that'll have the waiver wire stuff so you can beat everybody to the waiver wire. And then we'll probably do our picks later in the week once we get more information, get updates on injuries. That way we can give you guys a better look. We did well with these picks like almost a week out from when they actually happened. Imagine what we can do with the information that we get, you know, that Friday before the games. And, guys, understand, as we've said before, we are not experts. We're just using information and applying it to something that we love to do. And, you know, we went 12 and 4 last week. This week we went 5 and 6. And that's just because of negligence and just, you know, not being ready to prepare something that should be at the highest grade for what we're trying to do for you guys. Yeah, so the more time that we get to be able to do this, the more reps that we get, the better it's going to get. I mean, realistically, the most important thing is that you guys actually get the content and you're using it because that's really the whole reason why we're bringing this to you. We talk this crap all day every day. We figured we might as well put a mic in front of our face and let people take the information and use it as they will. Guys, once again, we do appreciate you listening to it. And I just want you to know that as soon as this doesn't become fun for me, I don't know how long I'm going to continue doing this. And I'm telling you right now, I fucking love this. This is a lot of fun, and we're going to keep on keeping on, and we hope you keep on keeping on with us. All right, guys, thank you for tuning in. Have a good one. See ya.
