Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 23,27-32

In this Gospel proclamation, Jesus criticizes the teachers of the law and the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. He compares them to whitewashed tombs, appearing righteous on the outside but filled with corruption on the inside. Jesus condemns them for building tombs for the prophets and claiming they would not have killed them. He states that they are admitting to being the children of those who killed the prophets. Jesus urges them to continue the legacy of their ancestors. Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo 2 Mateus 23,27-32 Sois filhos daqueles que mataram os profetas. Naquele tempo, disse Jesus, ai de vós, mestres da lei e fariseus hipócritas, vós sois como sepulcros caiados, por fora aparecem belos, mas por dentro estão cheios de ossos de mortos e de toda a podridão. Assim também vós, por fora, parecês justos diante dos outros, mas por dentro estáis cheios de hipocrisia e injustiça. Ai de vós, mestres da lei e fariseus hipócritas, vós construíssepulcros para os profetas infeitais dos túmulos dos justos e dizeis, se tivéssemos vivido no tempo de nossos pais, não teríamos sido cúmplices da morte dos profetas. Com isso, confessais que sois filhos daqueles que mataram os profetas. Completai, pois, à medida de vossos pais. Palavra da salvação. Glória a vós, Senhor.
