We're excited to learn more about your new film, Unholy Sacrament. Could you start by giving us a brief overview of the film's plot and its main themes? Thank you for having me. Unholy Sacrament is a horror film that delves into the world of cults and supernatural rituals. It primarily takes place in a mysterious forest where a group of unsuspecting characters becomes entangled in a terrifying and unholy ordeal. The film explores themes of obsession, religious extremism and the blurred lines between faith and horror. That sounds intriguing. Could you also share some insights into the inspiration behind Unholy Sacrament and what motivated you to explore these themes? Certainly. I've always been fascinated by the concept of cults and especially the psychology behind it. The film draws inspiration from real-life cults and their rituals as well as from classic horror films that play with religious and supernatural elements. I wanted to create a gripping and atmospheric experience that challenges viewers' perceptions of faith and fear. So, the forest setting is often associated with mystery and the unknown. How does the forest play a role in the film and contribute to its overall atmosphere? Well, the forest serves as a character of its own in the Unholy Sacrament. It symbolises the unexplored and eerie realm where the cult operates. Its dense, foreboding nature amplifies the sense of isolation and claustrophobia for our characters, intensifying their struggle against the darkness lurking within. The forest's visual beauty contrasts with the horrors that unfold, creating a juxtaposition that adds to the film's unsettling atmosphere. The horror genre often relies on suspense and jump scares. How does Unholy Sacrament approach horror and what elements can viewers expect? While there are moments of surprise and scares in Unholy Sacrament, the film focuses more on psychological horror and building a sense of unease. It gradually reveals the twisted beliefs of the cult, leaving the audience on the edge of their seat as they discover the extent of their devotion to the Unholy Sacrament. You can expect eerie visuals, a haunting score and a gradual escalation of tension that will keep viewers engaged throughout. Given the sensitive nature of cults and religious themes, what measures did you take to ensure that the film treats these subjects responsibly and respectfully? Respecting the subject matter was of the utmost importance to me. Unholy Sacrament is a work of fiction, but I approached it with sensitivity and an understanding of the potential impact it can have on viewers. We aimed to present the cult and its practices as a cautionary tale, highlighting the dangers of blind faith and extremism, without promoting or glorifying such behaviour. We also consulted with experts to ensure an accurate portrayal and avoid any harmful stereotypes. Lastly, what do you hope viewers will take away from Unholy Sacrament after watching it? Ultimately, I hope Unholy Sacrament can spark reflection and discussion about the themes it explores. It invites viewers to question the power of belief and the boundaries between faith and horror. While it may be an unsettling experience, I hope it leaves audiences with a greater appreciation for the complexities of human nature and the importance of critical thinking in the face of fantasism. Thank you so much for being here today and sharing your insights, Mr. Director. We look forward to experiencing the chilling world of Unholy Sacrament when it hits the screens. Thank you for having me. It was my pleasure.
