Nothing to say, yet
Welcome to another episode of Hoops and Sports Talk for Days. I'm your boy Omar. I also go by the name of O-Izzy, so just call me O-Izzy. Man, appreciate y'all for tapping back in with your boy. Got my boy 2.0 here. Yo. Yeah, so we gonna talk a little bit of sports, some NFL, some NBA, and see where it goes. So, first topic that I wanted to start with today. Okay. Two, I wanted to say who's the early MVP that I think, the early MVP predictions. We got Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey. We got Brock Purdy, plays the quarterback for the 49ers. He been doing well, man. I mean, there's a lot of quarterbacks right now. I would say right now, early advantage. You can go either way. Mahomes is always a factor, but you can also go with the quarterback for the 49ers, Brock Purdy. He's been playing excellent, and also they beat the shit out of us this past Sunday night, bro. I think the score was 42-10, my boy, and I see you had a Cowboys jersey on. Yes. What inspired me? Yeah. What inspired you, bro? What inspired you? Well, you know, I was inspired by just, I had this jersey in the closet, and it was Zeke, and I said, hey man, I'm gonna work out tonight, so I just threw it on to work out in. Right. Along with the gray sweats, but shout out to the Cowboys. Yeah, shout, yeah. My boy's a big Zeke guy, and honestly, we kind of miss Zeke as far as our red zone offense, even though we didn't have a lot of chances to score in the red zone, but, you know, we could definitely use Zeke as far as a power back, because Pollard doesn't look like, he's a, yeah, he don't look power, and he don't look like he's the type of running back to just carry 30, 25 times, even though in the NFL, you don't do that these days, but I just feel like we're missing a little bit of extra production, and, yeah, and I feel like we lost 42-10, which is a blowout, to a really great team, but I also feel like we don't have enough weapons this year. Like, I feel like Dak, even though Dak has big time been struggling, we need, like, when we had Amari Cooper, you know, he helped us out in the receiving department. This year, Brandon Cook hasn't got going. Michael Gallup hasn't gotten going. C.D. Lamb, yeah, he's doing okay, but he's not doing what we expected, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. So, yeah, we had Schultz, good point. Dom Schultz, we don't have him anymore. Was that a good decision or a bad one? Yeah, I think it was a bad one. Yeah, me too, it shows, y'all. Yeah, I think it shows that we're missing them, and I think Amari Cooper was kind of like Dak's safety net, because Amari Cooper could separate on his routes, and he's pretty much always open. So, Dak needs you to be open. Like, Dak's the type of quarterback, like, he's got to see you open, and then he'll throw it. Like, he's not the type of quarterback, like a Mahomes, where he could throw you open. Like, you know what I'm saying? If you're doing a route, he'll throw you open. That's more of a, like a Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Brill. Dak got to see you literally right there, and then he'll give it to you. And right now, our receivers haven't been able to separate. So, I did see where George Kittle was shit-talking. He was shit-talking Michael Parsons. Did you see that? Well, I didn't just necessarily catch it. Okay. But I know for a fact that Kittles is the one that scored two out of the three touchdowns. Yeah, he had three, too. So, that says enough. Man, I think the guy has initiative, and I think he has room to talk the shit. I mean, excuse me, to talk the— No, we can pass on here. Shit, shit, fuck, this ain't made for kids. Well, that's— Shit, fuck it. Hey, he has right to talk the shit to Parsons. You know, because Parsons is always talking, and I admire Parsons, too, but— Hey, he's our best player. Yeah, I mean, truth, man. But Parsons, he doesn't hold back anything on his podcast or anything. And, I mean, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I love Parsons, but at the end of the day, if you're upset, bro, we got to play better. You know what I mean? Yeah, I mean, we got our ass beat, you know what I'm saying? So, they're going to be the ones that want to talk, and they feel confident because they came in with the mindset of, we already want to kill y'all, and that's exactly what they did. So, I feel like, you know, Parsons, you know, I know he didn't like that kid who wore the shirt that said, fuck Dallas, but at the same time, it's like, bro, we got to play better. If they say, fuck Dallas, it's like, okay, well, show it on the field, and we didn't show it on the field. So, I just feel like we're not going to—you know, we have to step it up more as a team. 49ers are looking like the best team in the NFC, them and Philadelphia Eagles. So, yeah. So, Dallas, step it up before we even give y'all too much time. Like, we're Dallas fans, and we want y'all to succeed. But last Sunday showed that y'all aren't in the same stratosphere as the 49ers, and we got way too much room for improvement because we got outplayed, we got outcoached, we got out everything. Say that again. Yeah, so I'm going to move on from the Cowboys. Oh, I just want to say, man, you did a fantastic job on the Cowboys section. Hey, this is my guy. Not only my guy, man, not in my height, man. This is my brother. So, next topic too, man. I did want to get into Miami Dolphins. They're 3-1. They had lost to the Bears, but they bounced back this past week and beat the Giants, who is in a really great team. But at the same time, the Dolphins are serious, bro. I think Tyreek Hill had like $175 receiving. Toure had almost fucking—he's been throwing for 300-plus almost every game. He's an MVP candidate. Miami looked like one of the funnest teams to watch. I agree with you. Yeah, like— Flashiest team. The colors, they're vibrant. Yeah. Yo, Toure, what do you mean the colors? They're vibrant. I mean, it's just— They're green. Yeah, you like the colors. You like the swag. Yeah, I do, man. The Miami, I don't know, it's a pristine type of young-fuckiness. Yeah, no, they got some— Well, that's the way we used to say that. Yeah, they got the fuck. They got the fuck. They got the fuck. Nah, real shit. The Dolphins playing great right now. This is a sports podcast, so we talking about sports, but we also like to— Round the globe. Yeah, round the globe. But Miami's looking really, really good in the AFC. Buffalo took a loss to Jacksonville. Jacksonville's won its last two games, and they've won their last two games in London. They played in—yeah, they played in London. But as far as Buffalo losing, I'm not going to take too much of that into account because they had to travel all the way to London, and Jacksonville was already in London. So it was kind of like a tough situation. But at the same time, I feel like Jacksonville is a team that nobody's mentioned in the AFC. And it's super early because you're only five weeks in, in the NFL season. But it's a team that maybe you should look out for. They got Lawrence, the quarterback. They still got—Calvin Ridley's been playing really good this year. They got ET in at running back. So Jacksonville's a really good team that probably teams should look out for as far as the AFC. They are the Jags and the Jags and— Yeah, you got the Jags. You got the Bills. You got— Miami. Miami's been tough. You still got Kansas City. We didn't even mention Mahomes. And that's some love right there. It's stacked over there. Yeah, it's stacked. Things popping off. And then Baltimore took a loss to Pittsburgh, which was a horrible loss. I feel like—I feel like—what's my guy's name? Lamar Jackson needs better receivers, bro, because they're just not stepping up to the plate. I've seen a lot of drop balls. I'm not telling y'all something that y'all don't know if you watch the game. But as far as Lamar, he's so talented that he definitely needs these receivers to step up because I feel like he's in his fuck you year where last year a lot of people would count him out, and this year he wants to win MVP, but his receivers last week let him down. Yeah, I would say on the back end of that is that, you know, I know it's a little too late to be talking about Jackson. Yeah. But, man, I think he actually should have got up out of Baltimore and done something else. You think he should have did it? I really do. When is the last time? I mean— Yeah. I don't feel that, especially with the right receiver being out right now. The receiver? Odell? Odell? Odell, he's back, but he got like—he played this past week, but he barely played, and he got hurt, and he came back. It was a mess. And that's what I mean over there. It's like, hey, when he comes in, man, he's not fully prepared to work. So we got to see, you know, if this guy's wages can match his performance. Okay. I feel that because he did get a big contract. We ain't pocket watching, but he did get— We ain't pocket watching, but he got one year 18 mil. You know what I'm saying? So you got to step it up. We need production. You know what I'm saying? I know— That's about right. I mean, my job here is just not to critique nobody, but just to tell y'all who's been balling and who's not. And with Odell, we're expecting a little bit more out of Odell. So in the AFC, yeah, we kind of mentioned it. We mentioned some of the teams like Kansas City, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Buffalo, Miami. You got Cincinnati had a great week. They've been struggling this year. They're 2-3, but Joe Burrow came back to life. Looks like he's not hurt anymore. And then you had Jamar Chase, who's—I like Jamar Chase. He went crazy. He had three TDs. He looks like he's back in rhythm. Yeah, he's always ready for that moment. I like him a lot. Yeah, you feel like he's a clutch player, got the it factor. If you can ball in the Super Bowl like he did about two, three years ago, if you can ball like he did, hey, man, that lets you know that the boys prepared. It's kind of like Kobe and Jordan. There you go. He said, like, shit, that's a high comparison. Yeah, I know, right? But I feel you. No, no, I do feel you because I like Jamar Chase. I do. They might go on a run now. I think they won their last two—they won this week. They're 2-3, so they got one more week, and if they can win that, they head into a bye week. So they definitely need to win this next coming week to make it 3-3 going into the bye week to have that confidence that Cincinnati can make a deep push again and compete with teams like Miami, Buffalo, Kansas City, of course. And maybe there's a dog course like Jacksonville. Maybe there's a dog course—I mean, the Indies have been playing good. There's a lot of teams. I did critique Zach Wilson pretty heavy last show. I think I called him something like trash. I do want to say that they did get a W against Denver. The coach went back—Hackett went back to play against his old team, Denver, and they shit-talked him, of course. Sean Payton did. And they did get a W that they needed. Their defense is really legit in New York Jets. And I just feel like Zach Wilson's really got—you know, he didn't play great, but he didn't play bad. So I feel like he's just going to have to kind of, you know, not be a game manager, take your chances when you can. I feel like the Jets need to just let him play, let him, you know, do his thing. Don't hold him back because I feel like he's a quarterback. If you hold him back, he's going to think more and he's going to struggle. So just let him go. And they won this past week against a not-good team, which Denver's been tripping. They're 1-4. But I do feel like Zach Wilson did show signs of improvement, so I did want to chat you out, Zach, because I was hard on you, pause, last episode. And you know what I'm saying? I did feel kind of bad about going mean on you, brother. But I do need to see more results because you got great receiver like Garrett Wilson. You got Lazard. You got Breece Hall, one of the best running backs in the NFL right now running the ball. And so, yeah. And going back to Miami, they lost A-Chan, the running back for at least four weeks, and he's been rushing incredible this year. He's a rookie. I think he's out of Texas A&M. And he's been going crazy. So, yeah, Miami might have really missed him going into these next upcoming games. We'll be seeing. We'll be seeing what's going to happen with those teams. And shifting gears, bro, can we talk a little NBA, bro? The favorite part of the show is when we switch gears into another zone. I'm doing a breakdown, baby. This is just a little recap. I did want to kind of just touch base with y'all this episode, so it's not really necessarily just me giving out every statistic. It's me kind of breaking down this past Sunday slash Thursday. And, oh, Detroit Lions in the NFC, they've been hot, hot. I did mention the 49ers. I did mention the Eagles. Be on the lookout for Detroit, man. They've been playing great. They're 3-1. And they got, I mean, Goff, Jared Goff, their quarterback's been playing really well. And they got a really good running game. And their defense has been stout. They're a really good coach, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dan, I think his name is Dan Tambor or some shit. Yeah, he's been playing. He's been coaching a really good coach. He is. Even on the first game break against the Chiefs, man, he showed something there. Yeah. All right, cool. I'll play with him too. All right. He got that like that dog like that. Yeah, I mean, he's one of the coaches that still has the strength on him. Okay. Yeah, because he used to be an NFL player. Yeah. Tied in or some shit. Yeah. Who's better to lead a group of guys than somebody that's actually been out there with them guys? Right. You know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. I like that coach. I do. Shout out to Detroit, man. Didn't want to mention Detroit. All the people in Detroit area, y'all was going to get on my case if I didn't mention y'all because y'all really been balling. But it is early in the season, so next week I could be saying a whole bunch. Like, Cowboys, we were here and now shit. Well, we hope not, Detroit fans. We hope not. We hope we can just get it done. Yeah. You got somebody in Detroit. Nah, we got G-Bird. Oh, okay, okay. Why not G-Bird? But I think you might not have him. Nah, no way. No way, guys. We just want to stay hopeful and wishful, like Oba's just speaking on. Yeah, shout out to Detroit. No, no, no. Nah, real shit. Is there a team this week that you mean? Yeah, because it's a tough league, man. The NFL, you know, I never played as a front level, but like for real, NFL is a crazy sport. Contact every play. Like, you know, that's why I feel them when they get critiqued and they want to talk back because like, bro, it's only like one in a zillion that can do it at the level that these NFL players are doing it at. So like, you know, for me to even critique somebody or say something, it's not necessarily me just going in as far as like, oh, man, y'all are trash. I would never say that because I've never played football like that. But I will say, like, it is my job, I feel like, to tell you, you got to step it up. You're getting paid M's. So if you don't produce in any job, it's time to go. That's just how it is. Like, my boy, too, is a barber. If he ain't cutting to his, you know, expertise, you know what I'm saying, then he got to look at himself in the mirror and be like, damn, I ain't been, you know. I ain't been threatening. I ain't threatening neither of them. Exactly. You're right. Like Titan ship. Yeah, I think every man has to go through that, look in the mirror and figure out where he needs to capitalize at and get better at it and grow it. Yes, we all need to grow. That's all we're saying. Now, like we were saying, we're shifting gears. You know, I got a question. Go ahead, bro. All right, so check this out, man. At the shop recently, we was just talking about who's more, who makes more of an impact, which is the kicker or the running back? Which one do you think? The kicker or the running back? I know, right? Man, the kicker or the running back, bro, I must still say, even though, man, it's a tough one. I must say, even though they are tough on running backs these days with contracts and everything, I feel like I must say running back because I feel like it's harder to get to the position of status of the NFL as a running back more than a kicker. Like, I'm not saying anything, but like a kicker. Yeah, they're important. They're important to see. But you can go get a kicker from somebody that's been playing soccer their whole life. You know what I'm saying? Like, for real. Like, yeah, but you can't just go, like, you can't just pick me out. Like, I could learn maybe to kick if you train me. If I get trained pause for like six months, I could maybe become a decent kicker. It's not easy. I'm not saying it's easy, but being a running back takes a special talent, a special gift. It's something, too. You're going to get physical out there and you're going to have the rock in your hand, so you really have to take care of yourself and it's physical. It is. It's more contact. It is. You got to use your brain more. It is. So I'm agreeing with you. Yeah, I'm going to say kicker. I'm sorry. I'm going to say running back. My bad. My bad. My bad. I'm throwing back. And I'm going to agree with him. I think it's the running back, too, because somebody has to get them all to the position for the kicker to finalize the game. Yeah, exactly. But, hey, man, I got to be real with y'all. It's a whole lot of people at the shop that would say the kicker. You know, it's a whole lot of people out there that are stubborn, man, that would take the three points. They're important. Like, I'm saying because, like, if you have a shitty kicker, you're not going to win. Like, let's say the score is 24-23 and you need a kicker to win the game. So I get from that vantage point, but I do want to say that the NFL running back is still going to come back in style again one day, even though it's a passing league. And I feel like that it'll show that the running back is still more valuable. Now, if you tell me a quarterback or a running back, I'm definitely saying a quarterback. So let me ask you to end there right there. Hey, would you recommend three points or six points? I mean, would you take the three points or six points? It depends what situation I'm in. Like, yeah, that's the coach's job, too. Like, it's a good question and everything. But I feel like if the score is, you know, it depends what the score is. It depends what the time is. Like, if I'm on the one-yard line, I'm going for the touchdown. Yeah. Now, if I'm on the 20-yard line and we're down two, I'm not. Yeah, let's get to three and go all the way. It depends. It depends. Boy, it got me thinking. All right. That's all the question that I have. Yeah. It's situational football, bro. I'm not a big analytics guy. Everybody looks at analytics these days. I'm not big on analytics. Nice word. Yeah. Like, they be like, oh, 60% of people went for it on third down here. Let me go for it on third down. No, as a coach, you got to use your brain and use the right situation. Yeah, because everybody's different. Like, I saw the Raiders, the Las Vegas Raiders coach. They went on fourth and two. They could have went for it and ended the game. This is a good situation. They were up seven. I think, yeah, they were up seven. No, they were up 17 to 13. Sorry. They were up 17 to 13 with, like, a minute and five seconds left. Fourth and two. If they went for it and got it, they would have ended the game. What did he do? He went for a 52-yard field goal kick. I feel like in that situation, not just go for it and get the first down, bro, because even if you kick a field goal and make it, either way the team's got to come back and score a touchdown. So, what did he do? What did he do? He went for the 52-yard field goal. It hit the goal post and it didn't go in. So, that's a situation where, like I said, every situation calls for an action. Every action has a reaction. So, sometimes go for it, sometimes kick a field goal. In the Vegas situation, I would have went for it. Got him. Got him. Next, I'm going to talk about change Harden and the Sixers. Oh, Lord. Yeah, I want to kind of talk about the NBA a little bit. The season's two weeks away, and I'm a big NBA guy, big hoops guy. I've played hoops my whole life, you know what I'm saying? So, this is something that I'm not on the level of these guys in the NBA, so cheer everybody, but I am a hoop guy. And James Harden, man, that situation's just a mess, man. I don't feel like, you know what I'm saying, he wants to be in Philadelphia, and him not wanting to be in Philadelphia kind of causing friction within the team, I feel like. There we go. Okay, I feel like he needs to just go ahead and handle this situation. Play, don't worry about it. They don't want to trade you right now. Only thing you can do is ball out. You're playing with an MVP in Embiid. Just go ahead and ball, you know what I'm saying? I feel like, you know, he was mad about the owner, too. He was upset at the owner that he didn't get traded because he wanted to get traded to the L.A. Clippers, but the L.A. Clippers didn't trade for him, so now he's stuck. Bro, you're getting 36 M's, you know what I'm saying? And I know Harden took a discount as far as for the Sixers, he did, but the situation that he's in with Philly's a great situation. You still got Embiid. You still got, like, Tobias Harris. You still got a great coach now in Nick Nurse. He's the champion for Toronto Raptors. He's coaching Philly now. So I just feel like Harden is kind of stuck right now. My advice to James, ball out for, like, the first 30 games of the season and see, then the trade is going to get loud. Then they're going to want to trade for you, bro. Right now, they don't want to trade for you because they feel like you're a head case. So if you want my advice, and my advice, you know what I'm saying, I just want to give it, is that you should just go, bro. You still got talent, but you are kind of getting into them years where if you keep giving attitude and everything like that, they might try to do you like they did Carmelo, like where they get you out of the league, and Carmelo's a legend. So, you know, they don't like that in the NBA. You know, like James Harden, I just feel like, you know. How do you feel about his game, bro? I love his game. I think that he has a real nice, solid game on him. I ain't bushing. I feel like the boy got a nice, solid game he's working with over there. I just feel like, you know, and this is my opinion only, I just feel like, you know, get your money in the game, but don't let the money steer you everywhere you go. That right there is a... Yeah, that's true, though. ...is a effect of that money. You think he's in the strip club too much? I don't know. Because that's what they be saying. They say he go to H-Town and just... And I think he in Philly, too, and I think he really don't want to be there, but he don't want to let them know just how bad he really don't want to be there because he don't want to be hated or something. Yeah, you think he want to go to somewhere else where the strippers is at. Yeah, I think he want to go where the fun at. You make out there, TMZ around and shit. Yeah, yeah, Lil Baby in there. You hear him out there? He like a rapper. Yeah, he want to get back in there. James Lil Baby Hardin. Yeah, Lil Hardin. You try to get his shit back, poppin' it. And Philly's not the place to do that. Yeah, yep, and I agree with you, but I feel like just play out this year, see what's up with it, and just put your head down and keep grinding, pause, keep hooping, and, you know, you got Embiid as far as like he's MVP, bro. What else can we say? Embiid's putting up 35 points, 20 rebounds, 15 rebounds. All you got to do is just compliment him, and I know it's tough in the East now. Damian Lillard went to Milwaukee. It's tough. That's a nice pick-up too. Yeah. Nice trade. Man, goddamn Philly ain't going to do nothing, man. You don't think they're going to do shit this year. I don't either. Not like as far as winning. Go ahead. Don't get me there. Even with Embiid, Embiid is a great player all the way around on the floor, but where is he when it's that time? You know, it's like he can't never find Batman. Batman can't never find Robinette though, right? Yeah, yeah. It's always fucking chaos. I feel you. Who is the grown-up in this situation? I don't know who's grown and who's not. In fact, Embiid, he plays great like a grown man, but then he starts crying like a teenage kid. So, then Hart, he dries up after a while. You can't find him anywhere. So, we just want to mesh them boys, get them boys playing better. I respect that. So, shout-out to Philly, man. James Harden, bro, just see what happens, and then maybe they'll find a trade for you later down the season. Besides that, get your bag, man. Yeah, yeah. He's been getting a bag, bro. James Harden, man. Yeah, get a bag. He's been getting a bag. Fuck. Get more bag, dog. Yeah, always get your bag, man. Get as much bag as you can. It's expensive out here. Zion Williamson. Oh, Lord. What do you feel about him? You been keeping up a little bit with Zion, too? Yeah, I've been keeping up with him. I feel like he – I feel like, man, you can't never count him out. He did lose that weight last time. He did. No, no, he played – just not to cut you off. He played yesterday. He played last week. I mean, sorry, he played yesterday. He played yesterday preseason. Yeah, he played last night. And he looked slam, bro. Real shit. Like, I ain't going to lie. Zion, man, I like the way that he kind of looked. He looked like he kind of toned up, bro. A lot of people with Zion, you know. Yeah, they said that Zion eats too much gumbo. He eats too much of something, man. He eats way too much. And he been having a little bit too much fun. You get what I'm saying? I do dig that. Again, the guy, he lost all that fucking weight that time, that season before that. Remember, he got injured, right? Right. He put it back on. Yeah. He's working. Hey, I believe in him. I feel like he got some natural talent. No, Zion's cold as fuck. But the only thing with Zion, bro, Zion, you got to stay healthy. But part of you staying healthy is losing that weight. So, I do want to commend Zion for the way that I saw that preseason game. He had 12 points in like 15 minutes. But he did look slimmed down. Zion, if they can get 60 to 65 games out of you, out of the 82, heading into maybe if they make it to the playoffs, bro, that would be great. But me, personally, I want to see Zion stay healthy. I want to see him stay active. I want to watch Zion because he's a highlight reel. He is. Real shit. Highlight reel. Mighty God damn shit. He's a whole show by himself. And you still got Brendan Ingram on that team. So, you got potential. They got a couple other young bucks on that. Murphy's on that team. I like… What's his name? McCullum. McCullum is my boy, by the way, y'all. They got McCullum or did they trade him? They traded him. I'm sorry for the late… Nah, they might still have him. I don't know. My bet on that. We got to figure that one out. We don't have a statistic person here. But they do, guys. Zion… No. No, but real talk. Zion, I like the way that he looks this year so far. He's slimmed down. But Zion's knees been kind of like… Buckling. Buckling. This nigga's knees been buckling, man. He's got some horses knees, man. He's only like fucking 22, 23. He walks funny, too. I can't talk about nobody walking right now, man. Anybody knows me. Yeah, my boy's foot's kind of f-ed up. But, Zion, we rooting for you. We are rooting for you. Yeah, and let's say out of 82 games, how much do you predict the Pelicans will win? Just throw it out there. With the healthy Zion, all 82 games? Nah, I'm saying how many games do you think New Orleans will win this year? I know. It's kind of like with Zion. With Zion, playing 60 games, being healthy. With him playing 60, I think… 60 out of 82. That's great, Zion. I think they'll win 58 of them. Hell nah. That's a little… That's too much. 58's good. Okay, 58, I respect it, bro. I respect it. I respect it. 58, it'd be like they lost 20, but that'd only be like, damn, that's only like 24 losses, bro. That'd be a 58 and 24 record. Well, I'm gonna go 43 then. Okay, I'm more on that. I'm more on like 43 to 47, if Zion tells me. I ain't going down no more, man. I'm gonna say 43. Nah, I respect it. That's my finals. That's you. Hey, that's… What you think, yo? 43 to 47. With a healthy Zion. You know what I'm saying? I don't know that. But he's gonna have a time. But you could be right. Hey, when you look back on this episode… You will. They did win 58 games. I know we did. You was right. So, we'll see what's up with them. Now, shifting gears to my favorite team. Mavericks, baby. Nah, that's your team, bro. Let's go. You wanna talk about the Mavericks? What you think? I mean, I love Kyrie. So, what's up? I love Kyrie. I love Kyrie. And I love… I love Luka. Ooh, with Kyrie, I think he'll be a little bit tougher this year. I think he's gonna cut out the… I think Dirk probably gonna take him around the nation. Yeah, get him right. Hey, man, stop all that shit. Stop all that crying shit. Yeah, and… Damn, Luka, you have great talent. But damn, you can… Man, you complain a lot. Go ahead. I even go to Sirius Pizza, man, to get the Luka pizza and everything. You went to the Sirius Pizza and got a Luka pizza? Yeah, we got a Luka pizza. We got a Luka pizza. It comes with a red… So, you just went there and said, give me the Luka. Pause. Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Give me the Luka pizza. Pause. And, uh, pizza. Give you the Luka pizza? Yeah, pizza. And it comes with red chilies, peppers, and stuff like that. It's pretty hot with the red hot Italian sauce. My boy done turned into a chef. Man, you gotta eat. Yeah, you gotta eat. But what do you feel about the dynamic of… No, no, I feel you. What do you feel about the dynamic of Luka and Kyrie? They did get a young rookie, Lively. He's good. They still got Hardy. They got Powell. They got Tim Hardaway Jr. still on that team. Cleburz on that team. They got a little bit better with Greg Williams from Boston. He's a good defender. And he can shoot the three a little bit. So, they did add some good pieces there. Do you think they're gonna be better? Yeah. You know, I've always believed in the Mavericks ever since they acquired Niko Harrison and Jason Kidd. When they done that that year, I just started paying attention to them because you know how the world was going at that time. They wasn't hiring any… It's not black or white or anything, man. But the fact of the situation is they wasn't hiring any black people to be presidents in the office. So, they got Stint and everybody. And I started really looking at the way Mark Cuban is running his operation over there. He will pretty much do whatever it takes to win over there. And I feel like they're putting the right pieces of the puzzle. And Kyrie got that three-year $126 million contract. So, he's gonna be back motivated. I'm a huge Kyrie guy. But I feel like him and Luca need to, on the court, find that chemistry. And they also need to find like, okay, this is your time to take over. This is my time to take over. And we need to be on one accord. We say sure because you got somebody at a championship caliber, which is Kyrie. And shit, Luca ain't too far from that. If you want to be for real about the shit, I mean, he just needs a championship. Oh, yeah. Luca's a great player. Great play. Great talent. So, why not this year? I feel like Luca just needs to be under some type of championship guidance or something like that. Maybe, yeah. And Kyrie's won a championship. Yeah, he has won a championship. Yeah, with LeBron. With LeBron, it was just as much as his. Yeah, hell yeah. Kyrie's a dog. So, man, we're gonna shout out. And the boy has an IQ of 200 and something. Who, Luca? No, Kyrie. Kyrie. Oh, Kyrie. Shout out to Kyrie. Shout out to Kyrie for all the reasons of just the talent but also all the off-the-court stuff that he does. I'm a big Kyrie fan. Shout out to Kyrie. Be reppin'. Be reppin'. Reppin' for my people, too. Now, we need that. So, shout out to Kyrie, man. We do. But what you got the Mavs, bro? What you got? You got them winning it all or something, bro? Is that how you feel? I'm not gonna go all the way to winning it all, but I will and let I repeat. I will say that I will have on my Kyrie jersey. I have on my Luca jersey this year. I'm gonna be just showing up at a few games just giving support. We are right here in the Victory Park area. Okay. Why not, bro? We're gonna go to a couple Mavs games. You know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah. We gotta go to that one. You know what I'm saying? Watch my boy, Bron. Bam. Yeah. Okay, man. So, we'll see what they do. Shout out to the Mavs. Not a big Mavs fan, but do love Kyrie. AD for the Lakers says that he wants to play all 82 games. What? He said. Oh, you lying, bro. I'm not sure he said that. I would want to, too. I mean. But he has not done that. So, how do you feel? He has not played all 82 games in a long time. Yeah, he's fishing in a well on that one. Yeah, he's been getting hurt a lot. I don't think he's built like that. I think that he's a great player, but I feel like he's not built to play 82 games. He's talked in that. You think that AD's made out of glass? No. He's trying to say that. AD's made out of cardboard? No, maybe a little fiber. Fiber? He needs fiber. He needs something else. Reinforcement. Because he's all ginger. And on top of that, man, everybody knows the Lakers, man. I mean, Oak do not take no. Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but man, it's a famous basketball over there. So, if they don't want to play a game, it seems like they're not obligated to play a game. If they say they're hurt, they're hurt. So, you got to sit your ass down. You know, and I feel like they always got that nice little rub on the back, so. Yeah, well, as far as AD's concerned, AD. He's wishing well. Yeah, AD, if AD could play, you know, anywhere between, again, like I said about Zion, 60 to 65 games, I'm happy with that, bro. I think the Lakers got a lot of great pieces this year. They added Torian Prince. They added Jackson Hayes. They added Gabe Vincent. They added, they re-signed Rui. Still got Austin Reeves. Re-signed D'Angelo Russell. Got Braun, got AD. Lakers would be really formidable if Braun could play 60 games, 60 to 65 games, and AD could play 60 to 65 games, knock on wood, because they need to stay healthy. But AD, man, you don't need to worry about playing 82 games. We really need you to just, when we get to the playoffs, show that you can match up with Nikola Jokic and fucking, like, those kind of players that that's what we need you to compete with. Got the big guys there. Yeah. Drag your ass out. Yeah, drag your ass out. And they did. Like, Jokic was working last year, bro. Like, just killing AD. I was about to say the same thing, too. Man, it's more like, it's more of a Davis. You know, because a lot of teams, man, they don't even require their players to play that many games during the regular season. They want to keep them healthy for the playoffs, as I just stated, I feel like. You're right. It's that famous type of basketball. It's strategic, too. So, you know, you never know, man. If you got a plan, hell, work your plan out. But I do think that Davis is wishfully thinking of the 82 games and trying to throw people on the knee. Knowing he's not going to play. Yeah, knowing he ain't going to play 82 games. AD, just lock in this year, bro. We really need you as far as the Lakers. But, I mean, if you do play 82 games, it's great, bro, but just try to play 60 to 65. And I saw something where the coach of the Lakers said he wants – Donovan Ham said that he wants AD to shoot six threes a game. I think that AD was, like, almost 18% from three at one point, which is not good. AD's a great player, but AD, we do not need you shooting six threes. Maybe four threes. Three good ones. Three good ones. And if you're wide open, you can take a point. Yeah, because, like, six is just too much, bro. I feel like that's just a reach. You know, I'm not trying to set any limitations on your position, but that's a little bit – Yeah. Come on, man. Like, what the fuck, bro? What are you doing? Like, get more rebounds. Yeah, like, just get kind of, like, find that mid-range. He's a mid-range. I mean, listen, if you worked on your three all summer long and you just automatic with it and you feel good about it, fuck it. You know what I'm saying? Shoot the shit. But if you just out here – if the coach is saying shoot six threes and they ain't really seen you really just put in that work at three-point line, I don't want to see that shit. First five games of the season, I'll be able to tell if you should shoot six threes or one three. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, AD's a great time, but we don't need you shooting six threes, bro. We got Austin Reeves. We got LeBron already. He's going to shoot 20 times. He's going to shoot, like, eight threes. We got Gabe Vincent, D'Angelo Russell. Really, we got a squad, so we don't need you just standing on the three-point line when we – Yeah, we get down low, bro, because we already got three-point shooters on the team. And you're not really a three-point shooter. Yeah. Just do what you're good at. So shout out to the Lakers, man. I got you. I got high expectations for the Lakers this year, but AD, I need you to lock in. LeBron, stay healthy. Austin Reeves needs to step – they need to let him step the white – you know, the white boy. I'll talk to him. Yeah, yeah. Man, don't you know he was, like, the only guy that wasn't nervous? Yeah, yeah, he – no, he didn't. Like, he'll roll your ass up. Like, he had a lot of calls. Yeah. Where he's, like, probably traveling or somewhere. Some weird-ass call. Right. But the boy was actually, like, not scared to take to the racquet. I really like that about him. He's not a scared white boy, and that's what – I can deal with him a lot. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. So, yeah, I like Austin Reeves. I feel like Austin Reeves is going to take on more of a role this year where he's, like, you know, kind of like maybe second to Bron some games. Like, because he is clutch, he gets to the free throw line a lot, he knows how to draw contact, and he can shoot the three ball. So I'm looking for the Lakers to use Austin Reeves more in a bigger role. Yeah, because it's clear Russell, he's not going to step up to that major, major role that we're looking for. So we need to have somebody in there to kind of be right there with him. Exactly. Exactly. So let's go to the Lakers show. Season's about to start. We've got Denver first game. I'm looking forward to seeing that. And we've got a couple more NBA topics that I wanted to touch base with you on, too. Chris Paul, he's with the Warriors now, bro. What do you think about that? That is so weird to me, man. Man, see what a great guy. Like, why wouldn't he make a move? Maybe he's desperate. I know, matter of fact, it's no maybe involved. The boy is desperate for a ring. He wants a ring. The little bald spot in his head back there, it's calling him out. He's getting bigger, Paul. Yeah, he's getting more of no hair. So that's stress right there. I mean, it's just. Yeah, he's stressing. So, you know, I'm hoping that he does good. But he stated, I think I got this from a reliable source, maybe unreliable source, that he doesn't want to come off the bench. So we'll see. Oh, yeah. Yeah, he said that. But I feel like, you know. Where are you going to go, buddy? Where would you go? I mean, you can't tell Warriors. You know who the point guard is on that team. Steph Curry. I'm just saying. Me, too. I'm playing with Ogie. Where are you going? Yeah. You got Clay. You got Clay. You got Steph. You got Draymond. And then you got some of the other young talent. CP3 is a great player in the past, but I just don't feel that that's a good fit. I don't either. I don't feel like him and him and Golden State are a good fit, a good dynamic. I could be wrong. But Chris Paul is the type of guy that's kind of like, you know, like a leader. Like, he's front line with it. And Steph Curry is more like a leader. Like, bro, let me just see what I've done. Like, I'm that dude. And that might not mesh well. And Draymond already said that he don't really like CP like that, but they're going to work it out. They've been working. And me, it's not about feelings for me. I just feel like Chris Paul is past his prime. I do, too, man. He's past his prime, and somewhere in the way his attitude is caught up with his age. Man, you can't really be aggressive like that, man, and not have the type of results you're looking for. Nobody can get along with him. I mean, shit, I don't even know what type of person this guy is. I hope he's a good person, but I'm not. You feel like they ain't vibing with him. Yeah, I don't know what type of person this guy is, man, other than the State Farm commercials and stuff like that. He just ain't really been doing it for me lately, so we're going to go with Booker, man. Oh, you like Booker? You Phoenix. I like Booker. They got Booker. They got Bradley Bill. They got KD. Aiden, right? Aiden, they traded him to Portland. He was part of the Dame Lillard trade, but it's all good. They're still cold. They're still cold, though. Yeah, I like Aiden a lot, man. I wish the Mavericks would have actually picked him up so we could have had that type of physical communication. Yeah, Aiden, I'm not a big Aiden guy, but shout out to what you said. Okay, so we're going to close it out on this note. We got the top five NBA players that they said this year so far. They got Luka. I don't think this is in order, but they got Luka, Jokic, Giannis, KD, and Steph as the top five players in the NBA right now. Do you feel like those are the top five right now? Other notable players that aren't in this top five. Joel Embiid, last year's MVP. Damian Lillard. You got Kyrie. You got Braun. You got, you know, I mean, shit. I mean, Jimmy Butler's not in there. Jason Tatum. Yeah. Jason Tatum's not in there. You know, so. Jason Tatum, Braun, nobody. John Moran, I mean. John Moran. John Moran. What do you think about, they don't have John in the top five because John, just right now, John just got to kind of lay low. Yeah, he don't, it's like you got a mudder thrown at you. It's just me right here, Clarence. But, you know, he has to chill, bro. Yeah, no, I like John, but John just got to lay low, hoop, and he is in the, I think he's a top five caliber player. But right now, it's hard to say. Luka, Jokic, Giannis, KD, and Steph. I don't like the disrespect of LeBron. They just got kind of LeBron like out the wind, and I know you're not a big Braun guy, bro. I don't fuck with Braun. But Braun is still top seven, top eight, maybe not top five. Yeah, that's what I was about to say. Yeah. Come on. Oh, I know where you're going. Yeah, he's not top five. He's not top five. Now, a couple of years ago, maybe three years ago, two, three years ago, he was top five. Facts. But not right now. Yeah, not right now. Not right now. It's catching up with all of us, man. We got to do something to keep this shit on the back end, man. Because it's really happening like right now. Man, we're getting old, bro. Yes. Yes, I am. And we have to do something about it. Bro, you're not even 36. Bro, you still. Yeah, you're old. You're getting old. I'm 37 on podcast. I'm 37. But man, when I get into shape, man, I look like a 27. Okay. We're going to work it out. Oh, man. I am, man. I am. You're going to work it out. We're going to work it out. So, you're going to work what you got to work out. Me? But no, bro, you still. You're sharp, bro. I'm going to get together, too. Everybody. So, Luca, Jokic, Giannis, KD, Steph. I feel like that is fair. But KD gets hurt a lot. And I do like KD. But KD, the best ability is availability. He gets hurt a lot, bro. What about a guy from, what's his name? From which team? Tatum. You got Joel Embiid from Philly. I think he probably should be in that top five. Giannis is in there. He's in there. Yeah, yeah. Giannis is in there. You got a team right there. You got a scribble right there, guys. No, we got Luca, Jokic, Giannis, KD, Steph. I think if you were just to take anybody out, you probably got to. I love KD. No, I'm keeping Steph. Yeah, man, I'm keeping Steph. I don't give a damn. KD, KD, I love KD's game and everything. He's got to be available. Is he a top five talent? Absolutely. But then Joel Embiid, you know, his numbers were better. No, we need to put Embiid on there. I would put Embiid on there. He deserves to be on there. Yeah. Top five in the NBA is just tough to call. There's so much great talent. Like I said, you still got Tatum. You still got Embiid. You still got Damian Lillard. You still got Jimmy Butler. You still got Kyrie. You might have John Marantz right there. They just got him like he ain't nothing no more. And he's a great player. Anthony Davis isn't a top five player, but maybe top 12. And then you got the young boys these days, like Sherry Alexander from Oklahoma. De'Aaron, I'm not saying top five. I'm just mentioning co-players. Yeah. And then, like, you know, in the future you might have that dude from San Antonio, Victor Wimbyama, the tall dude. Did you know anything about him? I do. I think he's a force, too. I saw him and Chet Holmgren playing a preseason game, man, and I was really, really excited to watch that preseason game. I think that that's two of the future talents in the NBA, Chet Holmgren from Oklahoma and Wimbyama from San Antonio. That is the future of the league along with some of these other rookies. The NBA is not the old man's sport anymore. It's a young man's sport. So the young 21 to 25-year-olds are taking over the league, but you still need the veterans in the playoffs. And like my boy A-Horn says, man, who said an old man can't fly? Who said an old man can't fly? Shout to A-Horn. What up, A-Horn, man? Philly in the building. Philadelphia in the building. Yeah, but anything else you want to say, too, as we close out the pod? Well, I just want to be thankful to be on. Yes, sir. My guy. And in the future, this is my dude, man. We're going to, you know what I'm saying, lock it in. Yeah, and keep giving y'all content. Please, if you watch this, please subscribe to the page. You know what I'm saying? Like, comment, and share. Do all that. But, yeah. Man, I'm thankful. Like, again, once again, I'm thankful to be here on this Wednesday night, man. It's a beautiful night in the city. Springtime is here. Fall time. No, damn. Philly, we in the fall. October. Fall time. And that's why it's my friend. Yeah, I got his back, man. You know what I'm saying? But fall time is here, man. It's starting to get cooler weather. Therefore, man, we out here, and, you know, we getting this podcast up. And this is some good information that you guys can use, man. Hope you guys enjoy. Thank y'all for watching, and I really appreciate it. And it's always all love. I'm your boy, Omar. I also go by the name of O-Izzy. This is my guy, too. And you can add a .0 to that. We out. Peace. Oh, we did good. Yeah. All right, see you, man. See you, Mr. Freestyle, man.
