The Miami Dolphins had a historic victory over the Denver Broncos, scoring 70 points and moving to 3-0. The offense and defense were unstoppable, with the offense converting on touchdowns in 10 out of 12 possessions. Rookie Devont Ache had a breakout game, rushing for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Tua Tungvaloa had an impressive performance, throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns. The Dolphins showed a strong running attack, with a total of 350 rushing yards. The defense also played well, forcing two fumbles and only allowing 69 rushing yards. The Dolphins look like a strong contender for the Super Bowl. Hello and welcome to my podcast. During this episode, I will be recapping the historic victory from the Miami Dolphins today over the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins moved to 3-0 today after beating the Denver Broncos by a score of 70 to 20. Now, this is historic in its own right. Watching the game today, this was just an absolute beating by the Dolphins over the Broncos. This is the first time since, I believe, the 70s or the 60s where a team has scored 70 points in a regular season game. There was just no stopping the Dolphins today on any levels, offensively or defensively. The offense had 12 possessions today. They converted on touchdowns and 10 of those possessions, which is just utterly ridiculous. Looking over the stats, Tua Tungvaloa was 23 of 26 for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was automatic today. He was hitting receivers left and right. On that first series, he hit Tyree Kill for a 54-yard passing touchdown. I think Denver fans knew they were in for a long day after that first possession. The big question coming this year for the Dolphins was, is there going to be a running attack this year? Through the first three games, I can safely say that the Dolphins will have a successful rushing attack. Today, the Dolphins ran the ball 43 times for 350 yards. As a Dolphins fan myself, I don't think I've ever seen this type of rushing from any Dolphins team. My biggest critique on them for the past couple years is the fact that they can't run the ball, so they get very one-dimensional in their game. That's just because they focus strictly on passing. Today, it was like they were just running in an open store where there is no shells or anything, nothing blocking their way. Rookie Devont Ache had his career breakout game in his second career game this year. He had 18 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns. He had a rush of 67 yards, which was his longest on the day, and he averaged 11 yards per carry. Then Raheem Mostert, a 31-year-old veteran running back, had 13 carries for 82 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry. Undrafted rookie Chris Brooks out of BYU, I believe. Yes, out of BYU. He rushed nine times for 66 yards with a long of 52. This is just something I have never seen watching a Dolphins game. I bought Sunday Ticket for the first time this year, and so I haven't been able to watch many Dolphins games in my lifetime living in central Iowa, but I'm really glad I bought it this year if I'm going to be seeing this type of offensive explosion this year. Going to the receiving core, Tua found eight different receivers for completion today. Tyree Kill beating the leading receiver with nine catches, 157 yards, and a touchdown. I talked about the 54-yard touchdown pass earlier, and Tyree Kill had a goal coming into this year that he wanted to be the first-ever receiver to get 2,000 receiving yards in a year, and he is well on pace to do it. This game brings him over a total of 255 yards, which is a lot for a receiver in just three games. The main story I want to talk about, again, is the rushing attack and the fact that Raheem Mostert is having a breakout season for him. He had three rushing touchdowns today, also caught a passing touchdown. Most of his career he's been known as just a speedback guy that you just get in space and just wait and hopefully break for a long run, but today the Dolphins got him included in a different part of the game, and that was within the passing game. He had seven catches for 60 yards, along with that touchdown like I said earlier, and part of his career, the passing game just hasn't been there for him, but today it really showed, especially with the absence of Jalen Waldo, another elite receiver the Dolphins have, who was out with a concussion today. Today's game just goes to show that the Dolphins offensive attack is the real deal, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Devon Ache, too, the rookie, like I mentioned, out of Texas A&M, he had two receiving touchdowns today with us, so that brought his total up to four himself, and this was the first time I think ever in a game where offense had five passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns in a game. The defense on the other side of the ball was really good today. They only had one sack, which was towards the end of the game, which I didn't really like to see. I thought they would bring more pressure, but they did get a lot of pressure just with the front four that they have. They were able to hit Russell Wilson 12 times, which is really important, because then the more the QB gets on the ground, the more nervous they are of how they're going to go through the reach. They might make some bad decisions, and in the end he did end up throwing a pick, but it was attempted Atlanta scrimmage and a defensive tackle made a really good play on the ball to catch it. Javon Holland led the team with eight tackles. He had seven solos, and the big news for Javon Holland today was he forced two fumbles on Denver wide receiver Cortland Sutton, which were really big parts early in the game, because those were during drives where Denver was pushing down the field, threatening to score, and being able to get those two fumbles was really crucial. It also gave Dolphins short territory because of those two fumbles, which led to really two quick scores. Not much else to talk about outside this game besides the fact that there was just an utter beatdown, and there's no way the Dolphins would be able to top this. The Dolphins came two points away from tying the all-time record for most points scored in a game, in a regular season game I should say. They did have a chance to kick a field goal towards the end of the game, which would have broken the record, but Mike Badaniel, the head coach of the Dolphins, decided just to take a knee on fourth down just to get the game over with, which was really classy on his part, which a lot of fans probably didn't like, but in the end Dolphins fans are just gonna forget about at the end of day and just look back at the score and see that it was just a 50-point victory. And as a Dolphins fan, with some of the struggles we faced over the years as fans watching this team give us some false sense of hope at times, this team really looks like they could have a real chance of going for the Super Bowl. This team is, they're just something else this year. The defense really stepped up after a rough week one where they gave up almost 200 yards rushing. Today they only gave up 69 yards rushing. They did give up 306 passing yards, which I didn't like, but a lot of those were towards the end of the game were probably second string or third string guys were in the game. They were just playing deep coverage just to keep things in front of them. But today was just a really great showing for this offense and really, really dove deep into the mind of Mike Badaniel in his play, calling us some of the play calls today. I think multiple times they ran a fake outside sweep into a shovel pass, which resulted in two touchdowns. It's just, the play calling and coaching of the Dolphins is just at another level this year, especially with the new defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio, who used to be the Denver, Denver's coach or head coach. And this defense, they've been good for the past couple years, mostly just in the secondary, but this year the front seven have just been the most effective part of this defense. Now next week, Dolphins look to bounce, to continue this pace they're on, where they will be in Buffalo, where they face the Buffalo Bills on October 1st. Hopefully in this game that they continue rolling and the defense continue rolling and this leads to another big win in their quest to go toward a Super Bowl and a division championship. Thank you very much for listening.
