The speaker is hosting the Picnic Sports Podcast and talks about various topics. They discuss the NBA playoffs, focusing on the Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami game and the Atlanta vs Chicago game. They then shift to the NFL draft and the speaker's mock draft. They discuss the potential picks for the Chicago Bears, Washington, and New England. They emphasize the excitement around the Bears potentially selecting Caleb Williams and the potential of Drake May and Jaden Daniels as top picks. They also mention the possibility of trades during the draft. Overall, the speaker expresses their enthusiasm for the upcoming NBA playoffs and the NFL draft. Welcome in to the Picnic Sports Podcast. It is Thursday, April 18th. It is 1129 AM. And wherever you're listening, I appreciate the support. And today, there's a lot of things going on in the world of sports. We got the NBA playoffs. I'm going to touch on that a little bit at the beginning. But why I wanted to jump on the mic today, and the mics are hot. The mics are hot, let me tell you. It's because I am going to release my first mock draft to the world. I've been grinding the tape, guys. Grinding the tape. And this is a good draft. This is a very talented draft, dare I say. The most talented draft of the last decade. I don't know. If you're a team that doesn't have a first round pick, that really sucks. This would be the year to have one. I'm going to do a round one mock. You see I have the PFF draft simulator up right now. But before we do that, I want to talk a little bit about the NBA playoffs we saw last night. I'm going to cover that really quickly. We had probably the more entertaining play in game with the Philadelphia 76ers taking on Miami. And I had Philly in that game. Boy, was that a ride, right? Joel Embiid looked like he was playing on one leg. He did not look healthy. Without a three-point barrage from Nick Batum, Miami walks out of there with a win. But Miami looked terrible as well. You know, Tyler Hero shooting two-er dates out there, four for 24, something like that. He got hot there towards the end, but they were just relying on him too much. They should have given the ball more to Bam. He didn't touch the ball enough. Philly comes out with a one-point win. Almost a disaster there at the end on the inbound. They don't end up reviewing it. I don't think it would have mattered. There would have been .3 on the clock. So Philly escapes with the win. They're going to play my Knicks. And I like the matchup for us. You know, they don't have anyone that can guard Jalen Brunson on that team. I'm not overly scared of them with how they're built right now. I think they're literally and figuratively limping into the playoffs. So that means the Heat will play the winner of Atlanta and Chicago. And that was a up-and-down, fast-paced, high-scoring game. Chicago ended up coming out victorious. Kobe White had 42 points. Trae Young did not look great. He had, like, one point with, like, a few minutes left in the first half. DeJounte Murray did the best he could. It wasn't enough. And, you know, the future of Atlanta Hawks is definitely up in the air. I don't know if Trae Young's future is in Atlanta. I don't know if DeJounte's future is in Atlanta. They might be headed for a full rebuild pretty soon. We'll have to see how that plays out over the summer. I think there might be some swift changes in Atlanta. If Quinn Snyder couldn't figure it out, he's a very innovative mind in the game. If he can't figure it out, I think there is some trouble for sure. So that's my kind of casual take on the NBA play-in. I don't watch as much NBA regular season as some people, I'm sure. I'm much more of a football guy. And I get into the NBA playoffs. So I'm really excited for that. Maybe I'm going to release my bracket for that in tomorrow's episode. So stay tuned for that. I have some spicy takes for you. So we got that out of the way. Now we're going to head over to the main event. And that is going to be my round one mock draft. So everyone in round one that I will consider, I've more or less watched tape on. And I wanted to really dive into the draft this year because it's just the coolest thing. It's one of the best days in sports, I think. It's going to happen. All of us that study it and study these prospects, we think we know what's going to happen. And then we go back. I was just looking at a bunch of people's mock drafts from last year, having CJ Straub go as like the fourth quarterback off the board or something. So we have no idea what's going to happen, and that's what makes it fun. But here I am, and I'm going to try to predict. So just to lay out how this is going to look, this is not a what I would do mock draft because I'm going to try to do this one for accuracy. I'm going to try to get inside the minds of each of these teams and figure out what I think they will do, whether I think that is the right decision or not. And I'll make a comment whether I think this player would work better more than someone else. But we're going to have a lot of fun with this. I've done a lot of mock drafts now, but this is the first one I'm putting out into the world, so very exciting. I will have trades. I think it's hard to do a mock draft without trades, especially this year when I think unquestionably there's teams that do not want to be in the pick that they're in, and there's teams that unquestionably need to move up to kind of put a jolt into their franchise, into their fan base. So there will be trades, and I'm going to this mock draft. All of them are going to look different. I don't plan these out beforehand, so you're going to get my raw thoughts as it comes. And it's so funny doing these. One pick, like it's one pick in the first round, will change the next ten picks, and that's the beauty of it. All these mocks are going to look different. Teams value certain positions higher than others, and it's just such a fun exercise, right? So we're going to start the draft here. At 1, we have some trades here. Okay. At 1, the Chicago Bears do not select Caleb Williams. Chicago, as we know it, will burn to the ground. There will be riots at the Bean. The Bean will fall. You thought you saw violence in Chicago before. If this is anything other than Caleb Williams, there will be mayhem in the streets. I'm really excited, not a Bears fan or anything, but I'm excited for this era of Bears football, such an old franchise that has really not had the luck, especially at the quarterback position. I saw this stat. I can't remember what I was listening to. They have not, in their franchise history, had a 4,000-yard passer or a quarterback who threw 30 touchdowns in a season. I'm not saying Caleb's going to do that, right? But the fact that that's in the realm of possibility in his rookie year is astounding. And Bears fans, you guys have got to be pumped. Pumped. The offense that you guys built around him, Keenan, DJ Moore, Kolkommet, De'Andre Swift. The arrow's pointing up in Chicago for sure. And we have another pick for them at 9 later. So we'll see what we want to do there. So I've been hearing the draft starts at 2. The draft starts at 2, and that's looking like the case. And it really is going to come down to two guys, unless something crazy happens. Unless a trade happens, this pick's going to be Drake May or Jaden Daniels. And if we look at May, he is such a better athlete than people give him credit for. The comp, we see him comp to Herbert, and I've seen Drew Brees even. He has, let's see, what are his measurables? 6'4", 230. He'll be 22 rookie year. This is the guy, in my opinion, you should take the chance on it, too. Drake May's not perfect. He's not perfectly accurate. But the potential is there, 100%. He got better. He started off 2021. He was barely even on anyone's radar. Last year, some of the guys doing summer scouting were like, this Drake May cat's pretty good. He's got some juice. He blew up from there. Struggled in 2023 in the win-loss column just because of all the injuries he had to deal with. His top wideout, Tez Walker, was hurt for like half a year. And when he was in, not the same player. And I think the comp to Herbert is pretty good. Herbert was also an underrated athlete coming out of Oregon. They didn't ask him to do that much in the offense. And I think May has even shown more in the college level than Herbert did. He's just a really exciting prospect. And there was a time where the Caleb Drake debate was there. Caleb had a rough stretch early, well, early, midpoint of the year. And that's kind of when Drake was surging. So with all that being said, where's Jaden? I love Jaden Daniels, but I don't see the... I think Jaden has so much more of a chance to bust pause than Drake does. You'd think Jaden Daniels, he's this explosive athlete. Rare, rare athlete for the position. No question. But he's a runner, not a scrambler. So if you're going to ask Jaden Daniels to run, it will be designed. You do not see Jaden Daniels get out of the pocket and sling the ball 50 yards very often. Or get out of the pocket and go to his third read. Or even throw the ball away. He is a stand and deliver, take a hit, throw it into coverage. And guess what? He was able to get away with that a lot because he has guys like Malik Nabors and like Brian Thomas Jr. to throw the ball to. That's not a knock on Jaden. He was the Heisman winner for a reason. We've seen Lamar win two MVPs, and I'm not saying because of his legs, but it certainly helped, especially that first year. He's using his legs a lot. So I need to see more from Jaden. I think NFL teams are kind of in that boat as well. And I don't think Dan Quinn, I don't think Dan Quinn, the hiring of Dan Quinn is going to lead towards one quarterback or another. But I think if we're asking ourselves between the two, Drake has the higher floor and arguably the higher ceiling to me. So the pick for me is obvious. But I think Washington at the end of the day, they're going to be hard pressed to pass on him. It's going to be a quarterback. Again, if it's not a quarterback, I'd be shocked. So after all that, it's going to be Drake. New England, there's been a lot to be said about how bad their roster is. It's definitely bad. But guess what? You're not going in the year with Jacobi Brissett as your starter for 17 games. Whoever they do draft I don't think will play right away. And I think that leads perfectly to taking Jaden. I don't think Jaden's ready to start week one. You could argue Drake's not either. But Jaden, if he were the 17 game starter for New England, I do not think his career as a starter is lasting more than four years. It would not be a good situation for any of these guys. Outside of Caleb, who I think could overcome most challenges, and he's not going to have many. But Jaden's going to be the pick here, and I hope they let him sit maybe half the year. They've got to hit on some picks. Bill Belichick, time and time again, made some questionable choices in the draft over his last few years. Now he's out the door, this new regime. They've got to hit. Their wide receiver one at this moment in time, K.J. Osborne. Jaden Daniels will have much better receivers at the college level than he will in the NFL, which is a crazy statement. But it will be true if this ends up being the pick. Cardinals at four. Marv is there. If you don't know about Marv, where have you been? Obviously son of Marvin Harrison Sr., Hall of Famer, Indianapolis Colts. I don't need to talk about his off the field stuff. This whole offseason to me has been the Cardinals configuring things to make Marvin Harrison their pick here. I don't think they trade. They will get calls from New York, from Minnesota, from Denver maybe, from Vegas too. I think they stick and pick Marvin Harrison. And now, that offense looks pretty good. It's so crazy how you just add one player and that just changes the whole offense, the whole look and feel of it. You have Marvin Harrison as your one. You have Michael Wilson who is a good two. You got rid of Marquise Brown. Trey McBride, I love. Love me some Trey McBride. James Conner is still kicking. It's a good offense. Their defense is terrible still. They drafted Parrish Johnson last year. If the defense can have a Rams-esque boost where the roster just looks terrible, this is the same conversation we had with the Rams last year. The roster was terrible. Seems like they needed everything. And then you hit on a few picks and suddenly, boom, you're right back. So the draft is so important. So important. The Lions, I think, are the best example of if you make good picks, you can be relevant in this league. The Lions and the Seahawks back in the day, all their brilliant wheeling and dealings to get Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, Richard Sherman. Marv is the pick here. Chargers. Chargers. If you didn't know, Chargers are my team, so I'm going to try to be unbiased here. And I actually do think it would benefit both teams to trade this pick. Chargers need dudes. That's just such a simple way to put it. But we just need more dogs on this team. And this pick at five I don't think gives us what we need as a whole. And Minnesota is so desperate. Minnesota has everything other than a quarterback. They signed Sam Darnold. That's not going to work. J.J. McCarthy is here. Would I take J.J. McCarthy with the fifth overall pick? Hell no. But I think all the signs are pointing right now to Minnesota doing this, whether it's with the Chargers or Arizona or New England, I don't know, or maybe a little later. But I do think with all the talk about New York potentially taking a quarterback, I think it could happen. And this is just what unless Minnesota falls in love with Bonex or Michael Penix, they will need to trade up for a QB. And while I'm not the biggest fan of J.J., this is probably the spot where he actually could succeed, him working out in a Brock Purdy type of way. You know, he looks so small on tape. He is 6'3", so he's not small. He's going to be 21 his entire rookie year. So much room to grow. My only hangup is the way this roster is constructed. I don't think they can afford starting Sam Darnold. I think if J.J. is the pick here, and I want to make him the pick here, J.J. is week one starter. And I don't know if he's ready for that. I really don't. And they need to convince Justin Jefferson that this is the place he wants to spend his next five, six years. If McCarthy starts out, you know, three touchdowns, six picks in his first four games, I mean, it will be panic time early in Minnesota. This is a risk it all type of trade and pick. But if you get it right, you look like a genius. If you get it wrong, head coach GM is probably done. So, no pressure, Minnesota. All right, let's move on. The Giants probably, I think the Giants are super, super in on this quarterback class. Almost to the point where I don't know if they're going to want to wait until next year. Because, spoiler alert, Daniel Jones is not the answer. He's gotten so many chances to prove himself. Hasn't happened. I was a Daniel Jones supporter when he was younger as a rookie. But it's just at a certain point, at a certain point you have to. And, yes, he's a better athlete than we all thought. And he did have that one great year with Dable in 2022, where they went to the playoffs, won a playoff game. Right? And the arrow could not be pointing more up for Daniel Jones and the Giants this time last year. And it's unfortunate that the injuries happened. Right? He's just not the guy. There's only 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL. I don't think Daniel Jones is the top 32 quarterback in the world. With that being said, I do think they will go into 2023 with him as their starter. And their wide receiver room is a bunch of day two picks who are more suited to be a wide receiver, too. And what better player to take than the Lake neighbors, who absolutely lit up college this year. 1,568 yards, 14 touchdowns, 89 catches. I mean, he was an absolute animal. Did it in the SEC. And you look at the games where he succeeded the most. Bama. Missouri, who has a few good corners. A&M, who has a good defense. Florida. Like, he was good in the big games. As you can see, his numbers are just off the charts, according to PFF. Yards per route run 3.64. That's an insane number. Low drops. I mean, he's really the full package. Everything you want. He played a lot in the slot. So if we look at here, over half the snaps in 2023 were out of the slot. That is not to say he can't win on the outside. And I'd love to see what Dable is able to do with neighbors. So he's the pick here. So far, this mock is pretty chalk. And by chalk, I mean consensus, almost. Trust me, we will get weird. I know we've only had one trade. There will be more than one trade. And I'm not going to get weird here. This has been the easy pick for a while for Tennessee. Just looking at their roster, they're really going all in on Will Levis, which Tennessee's roster construction, I love. You have a guy like Levis who could he turn into something? Yes. But you only know whether he's the guy if you surround him with the most talent possible and give him the best opportunity to be successful. And they brought in Calvin Ridley. They have DeAndre Hopkins. They have Tony Pollard. They spent a lot of money. Peter Skronsky was the draft pick last year. So he's set up for success. Now he needs a left tackle. Keep him upright. Keep him healthy. And if Levis isn't the guy, you're probably going to be picking him in the top five next year. And you can take your quarterback next year. Right? I happen to think Levis is legit. I think Tennessee's going to have a pretty good year. And Alt is one of the safest players in the draft, and that's what Tennessee needs to do. Falcons need to trade this pick. It's a bad draft to be high and need a defensive player. So you might as well, you know, suck up to one of the teams that need an X wide receiver like Rome. And one team I think is going to be really, really aggressive in this draft is the Jacksonville Jaguars. They traded Ridley. Oh, look, there we go. They're actually looking for a trade in the simulator. Perfect. Sorry, they didn't trade Ridley. Ridley signed with Tennessee. Their wide receiver room is begging for an X. Gabe Davis we know is not wide receiver one by any means. Christian Kirk is there. I think both of those guys are wide receiver twos. Kirk's significantly more talented, but a wide receiver two nonetheless. I think Jacksonville certainly has the picks to do it. It's probably trading up nine spots. It's probably going to take both of these. We'll offer that, and that will be accepted. And I don't think Atlanta has value at eight. They don't need Rome. They don't need any of these guys. Going down to 17 is a big jump, but you're getting a haul back, and you can take some stabs in the third and fourth round that you get from Jacksonville. I think it works out for both teams. So Jacksonville is going to go after big Rome Odunze. One of the guys I really loved watching on tape, so fluid, contested catch monster, and it's something he didn't even add to his bag of tricks until this year. With the contested catches we see in his yardage jump, 1639 in 2023 compared to 1145 last season. Touchdown numbers were up. Everything was up. The offense, obviously, in Washington was just a juggernaut going through the Pac-12. This is a similar situation in Tennessee, actually. You need to figure out if Lawrence is, like, your franchise dude. And if you don't surround him with enough talent, you're never going to know, and you're going to be stuck in purgatory in the AFC. The AFC is a dogfight. If you don't have talented guys on the outside and a talented quarterback to throw him the ball, you're not doing anything, right? Rome's the pick. Chicago is up again at nine. Probably would have loved Rome right here. But he's gone. They can probably take the best defensive player in the draft, who, in my opinion, is Byron Murphy out of Texas. I'm going to take Byron Murphy here. Now, they signed Christian Wilkins. You may be thinking, okay, they're not going to spend their ninth overall pick on another D tackle. Yes, they will. They did the same thing last year with Darnell Wright, where their tackle situation was – it looked solid because they brought in a guy in free agency. I don't remember who it was. Charles Leno. They brought in a guy, free agency, and then, oh, that's weird. The Bears took a tackle. They don't need that. Drafting for depth is super underrated in the NFL, and teams do it in the first round, even, a lot more than you'd think. And Murphy wouldn't be a depth beast. They signed Christian Wilkins, but they needed two starting defensive linemen in the offseason, and they only signed one. This will be number two. You're going to need to get after Jordan Love, Jared Goff, and the division. The Bears are set up to win this division. They are. They're set up to win it. You need to get after the passer. Byron Murphy is a good mix between run stuff and pass rush. Jeez. I think this would be a home run. I'm way higher on Byron than consensus, I think. Jets, a 10. So they went out and got Mike Williams in the offseason. I still think they need to go tackle. This board has fallen pretty well for them. Only one tackle has gone off the board so far. Jets are going to be starting Tyron Smith and another old guy. Those guys aren't playing 17 games. It's just not going to happen. They're not playing 17 games. Rodgers cannot get hurt again. Tyron Smith goes down. You need a left tackle. I think they're going to end up taking Olu. Again, not a guy that's going to start week one, but what a better guy to learn from at the left tackle position than Tyron Smith. And Olu was in that tackle one conversation for a while, right? 6'6", 319. Prototypical NFL size. He can get grabby a little bit, and he needs to work on his technique in the run game. But overall, of the tackles left, I just think this is the most Joe Douglas pick of all the guys available. Chargers at 11. I need Bowers. I need Bowers. He's too talented to fall outside of the top 15, and I've seen him fall too much, way too much. And I get right tackle could be the pick here. I love Fuonga. But our wide receiver room right now is Quinton Johnston, Josh Palmer, Jalen Guyton. Do we even have them anymore? Anyway, it's looking bleak to say the least. Brock Bowers would arguably be our wide receiver one, the number one target for Justin Herbert in a Greg Roman offense that really values tight ends. The offensive coordinator we have now just came over from Baltimore. We saw him employ two tight ends with Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely in Baltimore, and he's just the kind of player Jim Harbaugh wants. Good blocker. Amazing after the catch. You can script plays for him. I think this would be a home run, and trading back and getting Brock, come on. Broncos at 12. This might be the toughest spot because if it's not a quarterback, I think they might just trade back. I'm going to have them trading back. I don't think Denver is going to take rookie quarterback. That might be a hot take. I don't know. I don't think they do it. And I actually am going to have them trading up. You know, the Rams don't have first round picks very often. Oh, Dallas. No, the Rams don't have first round picks very often, and I think they're going to want to be a little bit aggressive to go and get one of the best defensive players in this entire draft. One, give me three, four. So the Rams are now in the clock at 12, trading back with Denver. Their pass rush room, similar to how Jacksonville's wide receiver room is a bunch of twos. They don't have a dude that can get after it on every snap. And I'm going to take those moving costs down, and Laatu Laatu is just going to drive across the street to SoFi Stadium and join the LA Rams. A technician of an edge rusher. He knows what he's doing. He's got a plan every single time. He knows where the quarterback's at. He knows where the tackle's hands are at. He's doing karate back there, and some of those tackles in the Pac-12 were just not ready for him. One of those tackles that was ready for him, ironically, is going to be my pick for the Raiders right here. So they're probably going to go into 2023 with Gardner Minshew, whether Raiders fans like it or not. I think that signing was not for him to be in a backup role if they already have Aiden O'Connell. And I actually don't hate Aiden O'Connell. I know he wasn't the greatest stat-wise last year, and there was a lot of things that went on behind the scenes in Vegas to make that season not successful. But I think their quarterback room is pretty much set for the year, and if we're being realistic, this team is not ready to compete. So in this instance, we're taking best player available, and right now that's Fuonga. He fits the Antonio Pierce smack-you-in-the-mouth type football. I don't think I watched him lose a run-block snap on tape in the three or four games I watched him play. So good. So, so good. And he's going to fit right in. Colton Miller, left tackle. Fuonga, right tackle. I like the sound of that. Saint at 14. Probably would have loved Fuonga here, but I think they're going to get the steal of the entire draft in Troy Fatanu. Troy Fatanu, initially, everyone thought he was going to have to play guard because of his height. 6'4", 3'17". Now, to you and I, that's a mammoth. But as an NFL left tackle, you generally see them being the size of Olu. You know, 6'6", 3'6", whatever he is. 3'19". So, on the shorter side, but the tape speaks for itself. He went up against some good pass rushers in Oregon, at Utah, at Texas, at Michigan. He was challenged this year. Only gave up two sacks. Only three hits on the entire year. Playing left tackle. This is a guy that, you know, everyone's like, oh, well, if you're taking him, he's going to be a guard. And if you do that, he could probably be an all-pro guard. But his feeling is that tackle. We saw a similar prospect in Rashawn Slater a few years ago, where people were really worried about the arm length and the height. Fitanu's arm length is in the 66th percentile, so we're fine there. Saints need a left tackle. They whiffed on Penning, right? We can just move on now. The future, the short-term future is Derek Carr. So if that's the case, you need to keep him upright and get a guy that can be successful pass blocking and is improving in the run game. It's not his strength. Pass blocking is definitely his strength. But I think if Troy Fitanu was an inch taller, he would have an argument to be the first tackle off the board. And we're getting him at 14, so that's a win. Colts at 15. Colts love to take the super outlier athletic players. And in this draft, it's going to be Quinion Mitchell. He fits perfectly in that zone Gus Bradley scheme. He's not going to play a lot of man. He didn't play. He has a good man coverage grade. He didn't play that much man. He's mostly a zone corner. And he tested so, so well to the point where he's going to be the first corner off the board. And he's going to go off here in Indy. I like that pick. They're set up for success in that division, I think. Hit on Richardson. I know he only played a few games, but I'm going to say that they hit on Richardson. They need to shore up the defense. Defense wasn't really an issue last year. They just need more bodies and more talent, and they tend to go with the athletic dudes. So that's going to be the pick here. Seattle at 16. Very interesting board for Seattle because they could go edge. They could go edge. They could go – let me take a corner. I wouldn't mind Jared first. I don't know if he's their guy. Dallas Turner is my favorite defensive player in the draft, personally. But I don't know if NFL teams are going to be scared off with his production. So he's such a good athlete, almost to the point where you wonder why he didn't produce more. And while he was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, his measurables are just insane. I mean, his arms, when you watch him on tape, his arms are like touching the floor. He's a freak. And that's not usually the mold of guys Seattle drafts. They don't really take that many chances in the first round, or at least not on guys like that. I'm going to go with Graham Barton. So he's listed as a tackle. He's going to play either guard or center in the NFL, and he's going to kick ass at guard or center in the NFL. Very good player. Very high floor. I don't think he's going to play a tackle. So we stick him in at guard. Seattle needs to figure out if Gino's the guy. You got the receivers locked and loaded. They don't have a lot of pressing needs other than that interior reveal line. So Barton's going to be the guy. Atlanta, would you look at this? Atlanta, honestly, if they picked at eight, I would have argued Dallas Turner was the pick at eight. They're now sitting at 17, and he's still there. Give me Dallas Turner. That was easy. I mean, Atlanta hasn't had a top-edge rusher like that since Vic Beasley, that one year. I don't know if it's the coaching, luck, what have you, but they're finally going to get a guy that can get after it. Man, I love Dallas Turner. He just pops on tape. His effort is something I don't think enough people talk about. Every play, he's just ready to attack the quarterback. I love that. Cincinnati at 18. They're an interesting team because, again, this is a playoff Super Bowl contender, so it's not like they have any glaring needs that need to be addressed. So you could take a high-upside guy like Amarius Mims, who only started eight games last year for Georgia, but those eight games, something special. They drafted a D tackle last year, so I don't think they go Newton. Their tackle room, again, in the first round, we see it all the time. Tackles are taken early, even if they're not going to start right away, but sometimes similar to quarterbacks in that way. I'm going to go Latham. J.C. Latham is a safe pick. He could play week one, honestly, if that's what Cincinnati wants to do. Just rock steady, super strong. Can get pushed back a few at times. I don't like Latham more than Mims personally, but I've heard the NFL values him very highly to the point where structures were interviewing him, which means, you know, if you're getting interviewed by a top five team in the draft, then that says something. Broncos back on the clock at 19 after trading back with L.A. We're going to sit here and see you have Patrick Sertain at one corner. I don't think you want to leave him on an island where the other cornerback is just going to get targeted over and over and over again. It's funny because we saw that happen at Alabama kind of last year where Kool-Aid McKinstry was the quote-unquote CB1 and Tarion Arnold got targeted a lot, and guess what happened? Tarion Arnold dominated, and I think he's going to be very comfortable in that role for Denver, making this almost an easy selection here if they're not going to go QB. Steelers at 20. Steelers have George Pickens, and that's kind of it, that receiver. And Brian Thomas Jr. is still here. He's going to be the pick. Pickens is going to be that one. Brian Thomas is going to be that guy who runs that streak, and he's going to be faster than 90% of the corners out there. We'll see if we can bring back that patented Russell Wilson moon ball that everyone loves. That could be a pretty lethal connection with Russ throwing to Brian Thomas, so we'll see. Dolphins at 21. That's our easy pick to me. Marius Mims, they need to take a chance on a high upside tackle for Tua. And remember, normally left tackle is valued higher than right tackle is because you're protecting the court of X blindside. Well, Tua, he's a lefty, so the blindside in this case is going to be the right tackle. That's what a Marius Mims is. Their O line is in shambles. Mims, again, not a lot of experience but would probably start A1. Philly on the clock. My dog is being annoying. Okay. Philly on the clock at 22. Cooper Dejean I love here. And I think Roseman would love him as well. And none of these other guys really make sense for them, I don't think, so I'm going to go with Dejean. But, again, Roseman could just, you know, take one of his SEC guys like he does every single year, wouldn't shock me in the slightest. Chargers at 23. Second pick of the first round, we went with Bowers. And it would have been nice for someone like Mims or Latham to be here. That's not the case. So the point of this draft, all I've heard, is we want to accumulate picks. He's our new GM. He wants to get as many picks as possible to fill out this roster. Because, honestly, the roster is trash. It is. And it just so happens that there's two quarterbacks on the board that are regarded pretty highly by a lot of NFL teams. So what I'm going to do is have the Chargers trade this pick. And you may be thinking, what team is going to trade for this pick? And I think this scenario may shock a few people. I'm going to go with the New York Jets. I think the Jets are going to give the Chargers another pick in the third round and give them a fourth-round rager. Aaron Rodgers has won two years max on this team. And if he flames out, if he gets hurt again, he's done. And there is no backup plan in place. So instead of waiting until you're bad again, Jets, take the swing now when a guy like Michael Penix falls. It's worth it. I think Jets fans would like this move, actually. Dallas at 24. I think they're going to be boring. There's a lot of turmoil going on in Dallas right now. C-Lamb didn't report. You know, there's always going to be smoke with Jerry at the helm. They're going to love Jackson Powers Johnson, though. They need O-line help for the first time in a while. And he can play guard or center, so it gives you that flexibility. Packers on the clock at 25. And they need O-line help for sure. Probably would have loved JPJ. He's not available. And I think a player everyone's sleeping on right now is Tyler Newbin going in the first round. I don't think it's out of the question whatsoever. He's going to go here. They lost Darnell Savage to Jacksonville. They need some help. And then secondary, the offense, there's not really much to improve. I know the offensive line, you could go here, but I think that's something they might have to attack on day two. I don't know if there's a first-round tackle left. Tampa at 26. This worked out really well for Tampa because Jared Vers is still on the board, and they would run up to the board to draft Jared Vers. Power rusher, good for that Todd Bold scheme. He's going to win with that strength. Needs to work on his run defense a little bit. But this is another guy that Jared Vers is just a dog. There's no finesse in his game, not much. Like I said, he needs to work on that run defense. He is great. He's not very good. But he's got great size, 6'4", 260. Like I said, not the longest arms. FCS, all-American. He's got pedigree. Nothing's been handed to Jared Vers, which I like, especially at this position. He had to work for it. Arizona at 27. This is another easy pick, I think, with them taking Marv early. Take Trezon Newton. The best tape you'll see for a defensive tackle prospect in the entire draft. Watch. I'll challenge you to this. Turn on, go on YouTube, search Illinois versus Penn State. Just watch Trezon Newton against the Penn State offensive line. It's a treat. I'll tell you that. A few more picks left. This has been a good mock draft, I think. I haven't really waffled that much. 28, Buffalo. Boy, is that receiver room bad. God, it sucks. They need an X. I keep saying X. X basically means a guy on the perimeter that's going to go one-on-one against the other team's best corner. And while I don't know if Adonai Mitchell's that guy, I think the Bills will take that chance on Adonai Mitchell here. He takes some plays off, which I don't love, and you can almost tell when he's running a route whether he thinks he's going to get the ball or not because the effort level is just different. He's physically gifted, though, and that usually wins out in the first round of the draft, especially when you need a receiver as bad as Buffalo does. Detroit at 29. I think another trade-back candidate. They got LaJerry Sneed from Kansas City. They could go edge here. They could go interior O-line. Nate Wiggins is probably not a Dan Campbell guy just because of how small he is. I keep coming back to Kool-Aid. I think that's going to be the guy. This is tough. It's not going to be chop. I'm trading. I'm trading this pick. Can't tell me what to do. Someone's going to come up. I'm going to have someone come up and get Kool-Aid. That really needs a corner. Not the Chiefs. He's going to come up into the early first round. We're going to go. That's interesting. I don't know if the Cardinal is trading up, actually. Let's do that. And boom. Five for 29. We'll give him 104. The Cardinal is picking again, and they're going to go up for Kool-Aid. Perfect. Baltimore at 30. Baltimore's wide receiver room sucks still. I know everyone has them taking O-line here. I think they could really benefit from Troy Franklin. Again, another guy that's versatile that can win in the slot or on the outside. Lamar could always use more weapons. Andrews has been banged up. Zaflowers has had some trouble with the law. And he's, you know, you would never call Zaflowers your number one just because of how small he is, and they really have to design plays for him. So Troy Franklin's going to go here. I think he could really succeed in Baltimore. I would love that fit. San Francisco at corner. I think this is the team that takes the shot on Wiggins because he's so talented. The tape was so good. He's so sticky in coverage, but he's just so thin. He did get injured running his 40, running a 4.28 no less. He's an elite athlete, and the 49ers have the luxury to take that risk. I think this could be another team that takes that swing on a future left tackle. And to me, that guy's going to be Kingsley Sumatia. And I'll conclude our mock draft here. Kingsley is probably the only true left tackle left on the board, and it's been a position this franchise has been known to value super, super highly in the past in their drafts. Oh, they're grading my draft. How fun. So that's going to do it. That's what it looks like. To recap, we have Caleb Williams going number one to the Bears, Drake May, quarterback out of North Carolina, going number two to Washington Commanders, Jayden Daniels, quarterback LSU, going third to the Patriots, Marvin Harrison, Jr., wide receiver for Ohio State, going number four to the Arizona Cardinals, J.J. I'm sure we will have another episode tomorrow or the next day talking about the NBA playoffs. This was a really fun exercise for me to do on the fly. I love the live element of it. I didn't plan this whatsoever. It just kind of felt like hopping on the mic today. I hope you guys enjoyed. I'll be releasing a few episodes a week, trying to build my brand over here. And thanks for stopping by, and have a great rest of your day.
