The Cleveland Cavaliers have been performing well despite injuries to two starters. Their bench and role players have stepped up, with players like Sam Morell and Karis LeVert making significant contributions. Jared Allen has been playing exceptionally, averaging high points and rebounds. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley have recently returned from injury, and Donovan Mitchell has been playing at an MVP level. The Cavaliers may benefit from acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith for his defensive skills and three-point shooting. Yo what's good y'all it's Jono back from Top Boss Intro and in today's video we're going to be going over the Cleveland Cavaliers and how great that they've been so far this season and as of late and also I'm going to be going over some players that they should try to target before the deadline but let's get right into it. So the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently 10 and 1 in their last 11 games which is very impressive for really how injured they've been because this team has been missing two starters for a long time now and has been performing really well with just Donovan Mitchell and Jared Allen and a bunch of role players that have just been stepping up in the absences of you know these injuries. So the Cavaliers picked up a really good victory at home last night against the Los Angeles Clippers where Evan Mobley made his return and debuted back in the lineup so he scored 10 points in a matter of 21 minutes and grabbed nine boards which is pretty solid but this was a great win overall by the Cavaliers in general and one thing that has stuck out to me the most about this Cavaliers team is their bench and just overall role players on this team have just been playing great. It's been I mean they've been stepping up a lot lately especially in these absences like I said and guys like Sam Morell who really stepped up in a game versus the Magic where I believe he dropped 26 or 27 points in that game. Very solid player and efficient shooter especially with Donovan Mitchell. He's very great when he has shooters on the court and Sam Morell has just been very efficient especially from the three in that game versus the Magic. He hit eight threes and he did that another game as well I believe a month ago against the Utah Jazz. He had eight threes as well and 27 points. He's just stepped up in some pretty good games that they've won and he's definitely a player that I believe deserves to keep getting the minutes that he is getting and maybe just a little bit more because he's been a really good factor for this team and it's just been a really good thing to watch especially with Donovan Mitchell's playmaking ability to be able to set Morell for the open shots and also they have Karis Overt who's a really good sixth man to come off of the bench for them. Really good guard and he's had a pretty solid season coming off of the bench averaging 15.6 per game shooting 42.2 percent from the field. He's just a very great contributor especially for the amount of minutes that he plays right around like 20 something like 23-24 minutes per game usually. Last game he contributed 13 points from 6-12 from shooting against the Clippers on a win so I mean he steps up pretty well especially coming off of that bench. He's a great piece to have and there's just plenty of other guys on this team such as like Max Spruce who they signed in the offseason that you know came off a pretty solid year from the Miami Heat. He's been averaging almost 13 points per game five boards shooting 40.5 percent from the field. He's just been a really good contributor and they have a lot of guys just like that such as George Neang. I mean George Neang has been playing really good basketball for them. I mean every game he's usually putting up 10 plus points per game coming off of the bench. It's just been really good production out of these guys and it's just honestly truly great to see especially with all these injuries. And another player I want to actually break down just real fast is Asuka Koro. He's a solid three and deep wing player that they have. He can knock down the shot. He's excellent in transition and he's just a really solid lockdown wing defender. Now I want to transition over to the main starters which is Jared Allen. He's been playing really incredible as of late especially with all these guys injured. He's been a really solid rebounder and just overall scorer in the paint. He's been an absolute presence and Jared Allen this month has been insane and I think this has been the best month that he's really ever had in the NBA. He's been averaging 17.5 points per game 13.5 rebounds which is really insane and he's really just an unstoppable force when it comes to you know getting boards. Last night he had 17 boards against the Clippers which is a solid overall rebounding team as a whole and then the game before that with Giannis in the lineup and everything he managed to grab 14 rebounds as well and put up 24 points and he's just absolutely balling right now because I mean that is two really good defenses he went against with the Clippers and the Bucks but I know with Zubac being out on the Clippers it does put them down a little bit in the post defense but it is still solid numbers for a guy like him and he's just been an absolute tear without Evan Mobley in the lineup and honestly I think he plays better without Mobley in the lineup as well because without him in the lineup he's averaging 16.4 points a game 12 rebounds and with him in the lineup he's averaging 13.8 points a game on 8.8 boards but I mean since losing Mobley Jared Allen has just been playing at an all-star type of level now moving on over to Darius Garland who's been injured for a while now with a jaw injury he is reported to come back and return Wednesday against the Pistons which is pretty exciting to see because he's been out for so long now and with the 20 games that he did play this season he averaged 20.7 points per game and shot 47 percent from the field I'm just honestly excited to see how he plays in his return and just how they use him in the lineup with how great they've been playing and the success that they've had now moving on over to another guy that they just got back which is Evan Mobley it was pretty exciting to see him back last night against the Clippers and he's been out since the 6th of December so it was great to see him back and he almost contributed a double double in the only the 21 minutes that he played he's just a very solid young overall type of big I mean he's only 22 years old and I mean he's a very great defender and presence in the paint and he can just catch lobs you know and make really good shots near the basket as well and now transitioning over to Donovan Mitchell he's been playing absolutely great and he's been on a tear as of late especially without Mobley and Garland in the lineup he's been going insane and playing at an MVP type of level he's just been helping contribute and just go on this overall streak that they've been on he contributed last night a really good amount against the Clippers I mean he put up 28 points 12 assists he found the open shoulders and just you know help this team secure the victory and with Garland out Donovan has really showed how elite of a playmaker he can be and has just been a really efficient shooter he's been able to create a lot of shots and he's just been so great from the offensive end like last night whether that was him just throwing up lobs over to Evan Mobley or that's him just doing a fade away jumper from the corner it didn't really matter I mean he was just doing everything he could to make this offense just make a turn and just keep rolling the way they were and he was just doing whatever he could to get his team a bucket and you know whatever that meant either you know like I said it was just kicking it out to open Dean Wade it really didn't matter he was just finding everybody and he just does that every game and he's been showing us the whole month that he's been really capable of doing this and one thing Donovan has really showed us this season is how underrated of a defender he can be because on the ball he has just been really solid he's been able to strip the ball from a lot of pretty good ball handlers and just stay in those passing lanes be able to strip the ball from defenders he's been absolutely great on that side of the ball and very underrated as well I believe and he's just been a really solid defender because in this 12 game stretch in January he's been averaging 2.1 steals a game also putting up 27.3 points a game as well and he's just playing like a man on a mission right now and just showing us how great he really can be and now going over the player that I believe that they should try to go for and that being Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets I feel like he would be a perfect fit on this team because he would provide some spacing on the floor and just provides defense he's an excellent three and d type of power forward to add to this rotation and he would just serve as a really solid key piece to add to this team and I think that's just something that the Cavaliers need is a three and d caliber type of player just to add because I feel like that's something that they're lacking and he would just make them that much more dominant because from the defensive end he can clamp down and on the offensive end Donovan Mitchell can set him up for open shots from the wing so let me know down below what you guys think you guys think they should go for Dorian Smith or for someone else let me know down below and as always make sure to like and subscribe and turn on post notifications and I'll see y'all in the next one I'm out
