The newsletter discusses the power of persuasion in marketing. It explains that persuasion is the process of changing attitudes and behaviors towards a desired outcome. Persuasive messages are everywhere in our daily lives and can be used for both positive and negative purposes. The newsletter encourages entrepreneurs to use their powers of influence to inspire positive change in others. It also mentions that introverts can be effective persuaders and highlights the importance of communication and empathy in persuasion. The newsletter then discusses the concept of heart rhythm coherence and how it can affect the nervous systems of others. It provides examples of experiments conducted by HeartMath researchers that demonstrate the impact of coherence on animals, such as dogs and horses. The newsletter also provides information about the popularity of different social media platforms, with Facebook and YouTube being the most widely used. It suggests that entrepreneurs should research whic Hello, everyone. Narnia Dawn here, and you're listening to Connected, the biweekly newsletter for guidance on growing your business in coherence. This is issue number six, and it's called I Have the Power. Sometimes heart-sensitive entrepreneurs don't like marketing because they don't want to be pushy. So let's talk about persuasion and possibly reframe it for you. The dictionary definition of persuasion is the process of changing or reforming attitudes, beliefs, opinions, and behaviors towards a predetermined outcome through voluntary compliance. The art of persuasion plays a significant role in our lives and influences many of our decisions. We encounter persuasive messages every single day through various mediums such as news outlets, magazines, billboard signs, packaging, the internet, TV, social media, coworkers, and management. These persuasive messages are inescapable, shaping our daily existence and keeping the world in flow. The laws of persuasion are inherently neutral, neither good nor evil. The outcome of persuasive tactics depends on the person who is using them and how they apply them. We can choose to keep integrity and heart in our influence. Through persuasion, we can inspire underdogs to win, promote fundraising efforts, motivate massive social improvement, and create lasting peace agreements. When used effectively, persuasion results in holistic win-win situations. When you know you can help someone with your product or service, you have a moral and ethical obligation to persuade that person to get involved with what you are offering. That is a quote from Kurt W. Mortensen in his excellent book, Maximum Influence. Human beings have a natural resistance to change. We love our comfort zones, but we also have a natural deep desire to become better people and be stretched to accomplish more. Change is the only thing that can lift us out of our daily patterns. Sometimes we easily change on our own. Sometimes we need a little push. No matter what your business is, you are selling transformation. Use your powers of influence to motivate others to take action that leads to the positive breakthroughs they are seeking. Most of us were not born with these skills, but that's okay. They can be learned and mastered. They include things open-hearted individuals naturally excel in, like active listening and empathy. And as an introvert, I have to point out that research shows some of the best persuaders are introverts. Your ability to effectively communicate and persuade will be your key to increasing your impact and income as a heartlit entrepreneur. To inspire you to take even more persuasive action, remember that the people you help go on to improve the lives of others. We need more of that beautiful ripple effect right now, so go ahead and claim your power to persuade. In our interconnected world, you are already persuading those around you in very subtle ways. With some focused intention and heart, you can increase the feel-good harmony around you. How's that for some powerful influence? Let's look at the research. Anchored in Science. When you are in a state of heart rhythm coherence, your heart radiates a more coherent electromagnetic signal into the environment that can be detected by and affect the nervous systems of other people. You can energetically increase their coherence without even touching them, just by being close. The HeartMath researchers conducted 148 trials in which three of the participants trained in HeartMath's quick coherence technique were seated around a table with one untrained participant. The trained participants were signaled at random times to shift into a coherent state to determine if their collective coherence could promote a higher heart rate variability coherence level in the untrained person. The results showed that the HRV of the untrained subject was found to be higher in approximately half of all matched comparisons when the trained participants focused on achieving increased coherence. And are you an animal lover too? Check out the results of these energetic experiments. The heart rhythms of a boy's dog became more coherent when the boy intentionally shifted to a coherent state using a HeartMath technique. This was an energetic level effect, which means the boy was not petting or interacting with the dog. I love doing this with my two dogs. In another example, a woman who was in a corral with her horse, but not petting or touching it, consciously shifted into a coherent state, thus raising her HRV coherence. When she did this, the horse's heart rhythm pattern or HRV coherence shifted to a more ordered pattern as well.
