The announcements for Sunday, April 30th include a Bible study on Wednesday, May 3rd, a women's program after the worship service, and a Women's Day Choir for the worship service on Sunday, May 28th. East Mount Zion family and friends, I am Maureen Bailey Frater, and these are our announcements for today, Sunday, April 30th, 2023. Please join us for Bible study this Wednesday, May 3rd, at 12 noon and at 7 p.m., as we continue through the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality book by Peter Scazzaro. And please join the Women's Auxiliary today for their fifth Sunday program, A Time of Remembrance, featuring Sister Valerie Wiggins of Friends Fellowship Bible Church and our very own Deacon Jessie Ruffin. This program will take place immediately following worship service today. And to all our East Mount Zion sisters in Christ, we need your voice. There will be a Women's Day Choir singing at the 1045 a.m. worship service on Sunday, May 28th, under the direction of Minister Avis Graves. We're asking all women of all ages to join the Women's Day Choir. You do not have to currently be in the choir to sing in the Women's Day Choir. We welcome all women, and please bring a friend. Rehearsals will begin this Tuesday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. Additional rehearsals will be on May 9th, May 18th, and May 25th, all at 7 p.m. We can't wait to see you there. We're also very excited to announce our pre-Women's Day luncheon on Saturday, May 20th at 11 a.m. Our keynote speaker will be our very own Sister Beverly Bowie Woodard, First Lady of the New Salem Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tickets will be on sale immediately following worship service today in the lobby of the A. Charles Bowie Education Wing. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children. The scripture says, Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. We ask that you continue to pray for members of our church family who are experiencing bereavement.
