This is the first episode of the Connect and Grow podcast. They are creating a community cookbook and want residents to share their recipes and food stories. They are also hosting a harvest gathering on October 21st with live music, food, and family-friendly activities. The public market kitchen is back open and serving specials. They will have special guests on the podcast and provide updates on Grow Ohio Valley. Listeners can also get involved and help out. Hi, welcome to the Connect and Grow podcast. My name is Matt Porter, Community Engagement Manager for Grow Ohio Valley. And welcome. This is going to be our first episode. This one's going to be a little short and sweet, kind of a preview episode to let you know what to expect from us moving forward. So sit down, buckle up, and welcome. So our first update is about our community cookbook. We're doing a community cookbook. You may have seen that on some of our social media. So the goal of the community cookbook is to feature treasured recipes and food stories from residents of Wheeling and the broader Ohio Valley. We're interested in all kinds of contributions from your favorite family recipe, to a story about the taquitos you and your friend get every weekend at 7-Eleven. So if you're interested in sharing, please fill out the survey that's going to be in the show notes. We'll also have some additional information there. The next bit of information we're passing along is our harvest gathering is going to be on October 21 from noon to 7pm at the Lincoln Meadow Farm in Grandview. We're going to have live music all day. We're going to have a home-cooked dinner, a local beer and kombucha, demos by local artisans, and family-friendly fun. So if you're interested in that, again, we're going to provide some information in our show notes. Finally, we're going to talk about our public market kitchen. Our public market kitchen is back open, serving all the specials that you've come to know and expect from the public market. We're going to put a link to the menu in our show notes for those of you that haven't come down and visited us yet. And if you haven't, we invite you to come down and try it for the first time. And again, the public market kitchen as well as the public market grocery store are open, and that's at 1401 Main Street down in downtown Wheeling. So that's a typical update. That's the typical format of what we're going to be following here on the Connecting Grow podcast. We also will have a special guest from in and around our work. So whether that be a farmer, a local artisan, somebody within the food industry, you'll come to expect that from us. And our goal is to provide updates from Grow High Valley, to let you know what we're up to, and then to offer any opportunity for you to jump in and help. So thank you. Thanks for joining us, and we look forward to you joining us for future episodes. Thank you.
