The speaker recently calculated their BMI and found that they were on the high end of the normal range, almost overweight. They believe that the BMI's healthy range is unrealistic, citing the low end as being 136.4 pounds for a 6-foot tall 46-year-old man. They argue that it is impossible to reach such a weight. They criticize BMI for having unhealthy and dangerous expectations, and give exaggerated examples to highlight their point. They claim that BMI is so dangerous that it even criticized a plus-size model and created ultramarathons to exclude obese individuals. They also claim that BMI launched a smear campaign against celery and suggested putting Auschwitz prisoners on a diet. I just recently ran my BMI numbers to find out that at 6 foot 182.9 I was on the high end of the normal level almost overweight. I get that there's obesity problem in the U.S. but BMI's so-called healthy range seems insane. In fact the low end of the healthy normal range for a 46 year old man who's 6 foot is a 136.4 pounds. Folks I couldn't get down to 136 pounds if I had to canoe home from a three-year stint in a North Korean prison camp. BMI has unhealthy dangerous expectations. In fact so dangerous BMI thinks that Kate Monson or Prime was a plus-size model who should have been doing ads only for Lane Bryant. BMI is so dangerous it invented ultramarathons because it was sick of all the obese fatties competing in regular marathons. BMI is so dangerous it is publicly criticizing it has a smear campaign against celery for its excessive and dangerous caloric levels. BMI finally is so dangerous it was there when the Allies freed the surviving prisoners at Auschwitz and you know what BMI said we need to get these people on a diet.
