Come on, man What's up, everybody welcome to another episode of the pod mark from Manhattan here on a Friday evening after the New York Knicks with another gritty Performance take a three-to-one a commanding three-to-one series lead over the Philadelphia 76ers led by their all NBA all-star franchise record setting point guard with 47 points tonight and 10 rebounds a New York Knicks Playoff franchise record who put the team on his back yet again yet again and Led them to victory just an Outstanding game by Jalen Brunson and what did we say on the pod going into game three? After Brunson had those two terrible back-to-back performances at MSG, by the way, which the Knicks won okay, I said that if the Knicks go into Philadelphia for game three and they get blown out of the building or lose by you know, ten to twenty points and Brunson plays like Brunson did in games one and two I Would have huge Doubts that the Knicks were going to win the series. In fact, I would say Philly would likely win the series if that were to happen But we said if the Knicks went into Philadelphia for game three and And we're competitive and Didn't win but we're competitive but more importantly if Brunson played like the Brunson that we've seen for most of the sea for the entire season and especially in the second half since we lost Julius Where he's putting up 30 40 points and putting the team on his back if we saw that Brunson and the Knicks lost. I would have the utmost confidence than the Knicks were going to still win the series and That's pretty much what we saw he wasn't in true form in game three, but he looked to be getting back to that form and Then tonight he played his masterpiece or today with 47 points And You saw it from the jump. He came out His first three shots couple twos and a three-pointer and you said okay Jalen is looking like Jalen He was missing those shots in games one and two Started making them in game three and Going into the game. We got more bad news that Mitchell Robinson was not going to play after Joel Embiid filthy antics in game three where he Grabbed his ankle and hurt the surgically repaired ankle and so Robinson was not able to play in game four and He'd been doing an outstanding job defensively against Embiid But as this team has done all year long They continue to step up in the face of adversity So The Knicks come out and Brunson's playing well, but the rest of the team can't hit a shot D Vincenzo was cold heart was cold Bogdanovich who is critical to the Knicks offense given their lack of you know Randall not being out We said this all along that Bogdanovich is He was going to come in and he was going to be a pivotal player in these playoffs needing You know him to lead that second team offensively he comes in and he's hurt within two minutes and it looked bad and you look like you weren't gonna he wasn't going to come back and despite all this Despite everyone else kind of playing lackluster besides Jalen in that first half the Knicks find themselves down one at halftime And going into halftime I wrote it in my notes I said who is going to step up for the Knicks offensively in the second half and The Knicks as we all know since they've lost Julius don't have a second scorer but how they do it is by committee and somebody always steps up and In this second half those players really were three It was Precious and we'll get into that. It was OG and it was McBride but credit tibs because and Credit to even Chenzo with you know Who just doesn't give a shit and just you know will hoist up his threes despite the fact that he's over his last six or seven There was a point in the third quarter Right where it was back and forth back and forth Philly was leading and The Knicks were trying to cut into that lead it was going anywhere from four to nine to whatever in that range Philly was up Oubre hits a three-pointer. I think it was like three minutes left in the third quarter and then Sixers go up seven and I'm thinking Despite Jalen's performance here if we don't get offense from somebody else this could go totally the this is where Philly could blow this open and I'm yelling at Tibbs on my TV get McBride in the game Just like he did in game number one when D Vincenzo was struggling. He put McBride in and McBride answered the bell But he left in D Vincenzo and D Vincenzo hits two back-to-back threes and then a two-pointer and Then the next thing you know is the Knicks are down one huge huge shots Now I think D Vincenzo didn't play for the entire fourth quarter. He put in McBride finally, but those two shots I think really changed the game Those two three-pointers by D Vincenzo Because if you come down and you miss a shot and then Philly gets the ball again and goes up nine or ten The way the other guys were playing that around Brunson struggling offensively, I don't know if the Knicks come back from that Going into the fourth quarter, you know down maybe seven or eight So D Vincenzo hits those two big shots The Knicks go into the fourth quarter up one and never look back It was really og Obviously Brunson and precious. I mean precious again what happens in the third period third quarter? I'm just thinking period here because I'm watching a ranger game. They just swept by the way What happens in the third quarter I Heart has five fouls in a quarter Guarding and beat so he has to come out of the game and hello, Philadelphia Not only do you not show up for your team and cheer? But you also don't know how many fouls is a foul out in the NBA. They're waving. Goodbye to Hartenstein when he's got five fouls, you need six fouls Philly to foul out of a game But anyway, he fouls out and you're thinking okay, no Mitchell Robinson and now I hearts in trouble here comes precious who's been really kind of quiet for the whole series and What does he do? He plays? Incredible defense so much so that you didn't see Hartenstein for the rest of the game Blocking and beat on threes blocking and beat as he's driving the lane I'm beat and beat at one point in the fourth quarter. Yes. He was tired and he's hobbling But a lot of that was precious man precious played so good Another just another example of these Knicks just stepping up next man up. No quit No excuses Oh Hartenstein's in foul trouble. Mr. Robinson's out No, we don't we don't bend we step up Just Incredible and an og, you know 16-point 14 rebounds three blocks played 47 minutes and heart even though he couldn't hit anything 17 rebounds The Knicks just continue to just give you 110 percent effort every single time And Now they have a chance to put this series away Tuesday night at the garden I Don't know you think we'll see him bead He looked spent in that fourth quarter spent and You know in a he's unhealthy as we know he's dealing with this Bell's palsy he's got the bad leg I mean, how much do you want to risk this guy in a series that you're unlikely to win? Maybe I don't know. I don't know if he plays game five. I think with or without him I mean obviously without him the Knicks are winning but with them. I think the Knicks are closing out Tuesday night We took their hearts tonight today and let me say one thing too You always hear about how amazing Phillies fans are how rowdy they are how raucous they are When the Knicks are playing in Madison Square Garden in game one and two you don't hear a peep at from Philly fans Well, the Knicks fans are drowning. I mean, you don't even see any Phillies jerseys. Yeah Sixers jerseys But the Knicks fan went to Philly and took over that arena You're here in MVP chance like they're at the garden for Brunson. You're here in deuce like they're at the garden You're here in cheering when the Knicks hit a shot So much so that and beat after the game said he was disgusted with how the Knicks fan had taken over the arena Philly fans, that's just an embarrassment should be embarrassed Terrible showing for the Philadelphia fan, but the Knicks Won the court battle and we won the crowd battle in your arena. I Don't see how Philly rebounds from this I Think the Knicks have winning this in five. I thought six. I'm gonna say five now. I mean, you know, I think it's just it's over So really exciting stuff if you're a Knick fan just you know Can just this team just gives you so much pride man so much pride When this car just every single time that things are stacked against them Just every single time that things are stacked against them they just fight and fight and fight I Mean it's it's emotional watching these guys. They just lay it all out there So, let's hope to see if we can close it out Tuesday night in the garden Real quick. I want to touch on the NFL draft from the Giants perspective And what did we say in the pod going leading into the draft? We said if you think Drake Mays your guy try hard to move up to number three and get him But be careful don't mortgage the whole future because you just never know with these guys Right, how many hits how many hit misses are there with these supposed, you know? Quarterbacks like the oh this guy's, you know sure thing and then either next thing, you know I mean look at what we've had in New York Zach Wilson recently right, I Mean Daniel Jones was a reach. You probably shouldn't got pick where the Giants picked them Sam Darnold another one, but so many you could make a huge list right a bus quarterback So you never know so the mortgage of future on a guy you don't know. I think is crazy plus The other thing we've been saying is that the New York Giants lack skill players at the skill positions They they're number one skill guy for the past several years has been Saquon Barkley. He's gone Their wide receiver roster has been that of a you know a division two college team So they needed help there You saw this year, okay, the Chiefs wound up winning the Super Bowl, but you saw Patrick Mahomes who some say is maybe the greatest quarterback of all time He didn't have receivers You saw the Chiefs struggled offensively in the beginning of the year till they finally got it together and that's what Patrick Mahomes So what if you drafted Drake May and but you give him no skill position players Or you draft a JJ McCarthy What who's he throwing to when a guy like Patrick Mahomes can't do anything with you know B receivers? And I didn't hear a lot of people comparing Drake May to Tom Brady or Drake May to Patrick Mahomes And definitely I didn't hear those comparisons about McCarthy So all these guys are So all these Giants fans are upset you didn't get a quarterback So what happens if you were the mortgage the future for this guy in May and he turns out to be a bust but what I did hear or You reached and got McCarthy and he turned out to be a bus So you got Pinnock's jr. With the six-pick and he is injuries flare up and he doesn't play. Well, who knows what's going to happen? but what I do know is that Neighbors was being compared to Richard Jefferson. I mean Justin Jefferson To Jamar chase to Odell who was by the way, the last Giants thousand-yard receiver how many years ago 2019? That's what I do know and the Giants haven't had a number one receiver in a long time and it's not like Drake May was there at the same time as neighbors and we went neighbors, you know No, we would have had to give up a ton of stuff To get someone we have no idea how they're going to be now. We have no idea how neighbors is going to be either but I'm going to be a Little bit confident and say that you know what Dave all We Saw what he can get out of a healthy Daniel Jones. They went to the playoffs a couple of years ago their team is Significantly better today than it was that playoff year and now with neighbors
