The speaker discusses several topics in this podcast. They start by talking about Gino Smith and how he is underperforming despite the Seattle Seahawks' success. They then shift to praising the San Francisco 49ers for their dominant win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and express confidence in their abilities. Next, they criticize the Jacksonville Jaguars for not living up to expectations, particularly Calvin Ridley, and express doubt about Trevor Lawrence's development. Lastly, they discuss the struggles of the Buffalo Bills and the surprising turnaround of the Denver Broncos. All right, another day another dollar another podcast to be made. Let's get it going people Week 10 has already happened. That's why you're watching me. We've got a few good things on The agenda today. We are going to talk about Gino Smith and why I think he's kind of underperforming Given the circumstances in the expectations despite the team's success I'm in a victory lap about the San Francisco 49ers looking absolutely incredible again Absolutely destroying Jacksonville. We're going to talk about Kyler Murray and his return to the National Football League He tore his ACL last year and he had quite the exciting game coming back We're going to talk about Monday night football bills versus Broncos what that means for both teams and we're going to talk about everyone's favorite winning team the New England Patriots So to start off this podcast, I'm going to do a little bit of Gino Smith Slander if you all don't mind and You might be sitting here thinking Lil O'Keefe, why on earth would you want to slander Gino Smith? The Seahawks are amazing They're six and three they're fighting for the division right now against San Francisco What's up, and I'm here to tell you that it's not that they're playing bad Gino Smith and the Seattle Seahawks are Winning football games, but they're not as pretty as you'd hope for them to be or at least as pretty as I thought They would be their last four or five games. They Barely squeaked one out against Washington got absolutely destroyed in Baltimore barely squeaked one out against the Cleveland Browns with TJ Walker quarterback and The only positive win that I see on their record so far is their win over Detroit in week two other than that, they've just been beating up on bad teams and barely beating good ones and Truthfully, I kind of expected more I looked at the Seattle Seahawks at the beginning of the year and I thought that they were a really strong team and a team That I thought could be playing a lot better than they are right now Their record shows pretty much around where I thought they'd be a solid team six and three But I kind of hope that they'd be winning in more convincing ways Gino himself has 11 touchdowns in seven interceptions, which isn't the worst in the world, but it's definitely not great because Last year he finished with only 11 interceptions and 30 touchdowns So he's on pace to have a regression even though everyone predict that he would get better and he's still not playing bad But I kind of hope to see more out of him. He could still definitely turn it around and This doesn't really have too much to do with the Seattle Seahawks as a whole But as I was watching them narrowly beat out the Washington commanders who I don't hold in high regard as a football team Despite Sam Howell's numbers. I kind of wanted to see more from Gino. I didn't really see the Explosive plays downfield anymore, which was something that last year was kind of his calling card He would throw an incredible amount of deep passes and they'd pretty much be completed but watching this game I didn't see too many of those and I know they had some big plays to the running backs and the short game stuff was Working but that's kind of been a theme all year. I don't really think Gino's been airing it out like he did last year So while I do believe that Gino's a very good football player and that the Seattle Seahawks Will make the playoffs and will be just fine. I just want to see more from them I want them to play a little bit better than they're playing right now and come out with some more convincing wins against good teams and Speaking of a convincing win. It's time to do some 49ers victory laughing. Oh my goodness I heard all the smoke people the 49ers had lost three in a row. They were looking rough We weren't sure what was going to happen. I saw the media start to panic They weren't sure what to make of the 49ers and I almost started doubting too But in the end I stayed strong and they came out of their bye week and they absolutely thrashed The Jacksonville Jaguars who haven't looked great, but they had a winning record They have six wins, but that's besides the point. This is about the 49ers They were back to their old ways of just doing everything, right? The offense didn't record a single turnover. They had four touchdowns. It was electric They were able to run the ball efficiently Christian McCaffrey had 95 rushing yards their backup had some good runs, too so They were able to just dominate all phases of offense and defense. They dominated again, too They had multiple turnovers to interceptions a forced fumble. They were a force to be reckoned with again I don't know what happened during that three-game slump, but I am no longer concerned. I remember who these guys are I know who these guys can be their Super Bowl contenders They're scary the San Francisco 49ers are your favorite team's worst nightmare, okay? Shifting the focus back to Jacksonville. You can't let this happen though No matter how good the other team is you cannot lose 34 to 3 in your home stadium your fans are in attendance and they're watching you get blown out by 31 points Truthfully this whole year. I've kind of been disappointed with Jacksonville They're not as buttoned up as people thought they'd be they have some pretty good wins on the year But they also have some pretty bad losses. They couldn't score a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs they got blown out by 20 against the Texans and CJ Stroud and of course they lost by 31 to San Francisco and They've never looked as clean and as polished as everyone thought they would Trevor Lawrence hasn't taken that look into super stardom yet And a large part of that is because Calvin Ridley has disappointed fans that trade just hasn't worked out in the way people thought it would When Ridley came to Jacksonville from Atlanta off that suspension people thought this was going to be the Stefan digs that elevated Josh Allen or the Jamar chase that elevated Joe Burrow or the Tyree kill that elevated to it all that and on and Calvin Ridley just doesn't have that juice He's not a 1a type of wide receiver a guy that's constantly going to be beating the other team's best corner He's a very solid piece. He's a very good role and plays an important part in Jacksonville But he's not the guy that they needed him to be in order for Trevor Lawrence to take that step And that's what they need is for Trevor Lawrence to really ascend into a superstar Patrick Mahomes Joe Burrow Josh Allen sometimes type of quarterback and he's in the tier below that still and Until he takes that step up. I don't know if Jacksonville is going to be a Super Bowl contender I don't even know if they're going to win their own division this year because Houston looks incredible. They're only one game behind and they already beat Jacksonville. So everyone down in North Florida you should be Quaking because the Houston Texans might take this division without you even realizing it one more example of Bad teams looking better and good teams looking bad is Bills and Broncos they played this week on Monday night and man Buffalo when it rains it pours They're five and five and the 10th seed in the AFC Could you imagine if I told you that at the beginning of this year? People were ready to put the bills in the Super Bowl column a team that was ready to compete for a championship But they're struggling to compete for their division. I went over a lot of the bills last week. So I'm not going to try and Repeat what I said last week, but man, they're so awful and it's so Funny to see Josh Allen is a turnover magnet, and I don't really know why he's just making the wrong choice every time He's just playing bad football and I don't get it. He's like That's my that's my reaction to Josh Allen football right now, it's ugly it's bad It's just every negative thing. You can think of is Josh Allen football and the bills are suffering. It's not the ideal Place they just fired their offensive coordinator today. So we'll see if that changes anything but Everything about it. It's just not good. The defense is bad. The offensive line still isn't great The receivers aren't great. The offensive coordinator wasn't holding those things back. So That we're just going to skip past that if you want to hear more about Buffalo see my last episode But what we are going to talk about is the Denver Broncos turnaround, man I can't believe what I've been seeing from the Denver Broncos They've won three straight against Green Bay Kansas City and now Buffalo. Oh my gosh This team is playing really good complimentary football The rushing attack has really improved ever since they started leaning on Javante Williams The passing attack has improved because of that because the passing game and the running game are Synchronized if you have a good rushing attack, you can use that to create a good passing attack, which has really helped out Russell Wilson and the wide receivers and Another issue that I saw from Denver weeks ago was that they just looked bad Internally the locker room didn't look happy Jerry Judy was acting out people weren't sure what was happening with Sean Payton But it all looks like it's kind of turned around Jerry Judy's playing better Courtland Sutton is playing masterfully and Russell Wilson is cooking again Broncos country is riding baby. Oh my god And the two field goals they had where it's kind of like NASCAR pit stops where they don't have any timeouts They just rush out there and they drill a field goal At least they drill the first field goal. We'll go over the ending of this game in a second because that was hilarious but Everything about the Denver Broncos is just like a well-oiled machine right now And that's not what you were seeing in the beginning of the season where they were 1 in 5 and looked hopeless Repeating what I just said about how the Buffalo Bills are looking like this functional team and The Denver Broncos are looking like a well organized well working oiled machine is The ending of this game is what I really want to highlight the Buffalo Bills had every chance To squeak out a close win this week and they blew it every opportunity. They could first of all the Buffalo had them dead to rights. It was like fourth and six From the like midfield and they sack Russell Wilson So you think that's the game right there, but the very next play fourth down You know Russell Wilson goes out there deep shot to Jerry Judy incomplete but pass interference You cannot have pass interference on like what should be the final play of the game. He just ran right into him how Dumb do you have to be that's not how you play good football, and I'm sure the coaches were Screaming at that guy to get his stuff together But at the end of the day, that's football stuff happens You've got to keep rolling with the punches and they hold them to a field goal. They don't have any timeouts They run on they do their quick little thing that they tried to do where they just rush the field goal unit on with no timeout they Launch the field goal back and it misses wide right and everyone thinks okay fine Buffalo really just got away with playing a bad football game But then the stupidest thing ever the worst thing you could ever get called on for your team Happens a flag is thrown and the Buffalo Bills had too many men on the field For those of you non football fans who don't understand what I'm talking about You are only allowed to have 11 men on the field during a play if you have more you will get flagged and you'd think it'd Just be so hard to have too many men on the field But you're wrong with the game on the line Buffalo makes a stupid mental error and Denver takes advantage of it fully a Famous quote from Bill Belichick who's recently caught some heat and we'll talk about that in a second but a famous quote from him and a lot of other great coaches is You have to let the other team beat you you can't beat yourself and that's exactly what Buffalo's doing their stupid self-inflicted errors and Turnovers are causing them their season and it's not going to get any better until they fix that I don't care how many offensive coordinators you fire I don't care what you do. If you don't fix those things and play smart football It's never ever gonna change and that's why I have such problems with Josh Allen is that he's not a smart football player He's a great football player incredibly athletic incredibly talented not smart So that's just another issue I have with Buffalo and that's why they're losing football games that they shouldn't be losing Shifting the focus away from NFL teams I want to talk about the return of an NFL player one of my personal favorites to watch Kyler Murray was back in action, baby, and it was sweet to see he gets a W in his first game back against Atlanta And he doesn't look perfect in it He had a pretty bad interception and some balls got tipped at the line of scrimmage But you have to remember he tore his ACL a year ago and that's a very hard thing to come back from So I took that into full account when looking at this game, and I think he played an incredible game despite that Kyler finished with 250 yards a rushing touchdown and an interception not the best stat line but not the worst either and he got the win so you can't argue with results and Overall he played great football. He had the ball down a touchdown He needed to go out and score and he looked completely in control. He didn't look flustered He wasn't making silly errors, and he just looked calm and control at all times And that's really what I wanted to see he had been away from the game for so long and the Cardinals aren't exactly a dream Scenario their offensive line is you know mix and match. There are some pretty good players on it They really hit with Paris Johnson jr. And their weapons aren't the best either Hollywood Brown had some pretty bad missed plays He had a drop in the end zone for it would have been a crazy like 50-yard touchdown, but regardless Trey McBride, let me tell you about Trey McBride Eight catches for a hundred and thirty-one yards man. He diced them up They couldn't hold him and let me tell you why I'm so excited to spotlight Trey McBride It's because I knew him first when he was just drafted. I knew he was a dog. Do you know why Madden, baby? I got his Madden card and he was my goat. I knew he was going to be special from that day Okay, and I've just been waiting for him to get his chance He was in the depths you're up behind Zach earth Zach earth goes down. It was Trey McBride He was a real positive for him He was a security blanket for Kyler and he was making explosive plays down the field He was doing everything you could possibly want as This season progresses. They have about eight more games left seven more games left the outlook isn't super positive because they're two and eight and they're probably not going to make the playoffs or have any sort of Postseason success, but looking at this team. I see about three or four more wins on their schedule They could probably take one against the Rams. They could probably take one against the Steelers They could probably take one against the Bears and maybe just maybe we talked about this earlier They could steal one against the Seahawks That's four wins right there and then all of a sudden you go on a hot streak to end your season you get some talent through the draft and through free agency and Then the turnaround for the Cardinals starts looking pretty strong when at the beginning of the year It was looking like they could be a historically awful team. So I'm glad to see Kyler back out there I'm pretty excited to see what the Arizona Cardinals can do and He saved my fantasy matchup this week. I had him stashed on my bench ever since the draft I had drafted him with my last pick and I was just waiting for this moment to pay off and it came in Clutch he threw down some good fantasy points for me took the W in my league There's just not much more you can ask for you know Actually looking back at my notes from that game I do want to talk about one more thing in the third quarter The Cardinals were on the one-yard line and the tush push and the brotherly shove has been going crazy This season everyone knows it you get your whole offensive line in front of you you get two guys to push your quarterback through the line and The Cardinals wanted to give that a try But instead of putting Kyler in there, they sub their backup rookie quarterback Clayton tune in. I Kind of think that's lame man. Just don't Do that then just run the ball if you have to put your backup quarterback in there It worked it got the touchdown But I feel like you should have just either ran the ball with James Connor who also made his return from IR today Or just passed it or something There's no reason for you to just throw your rookie quarterback under a pile of people like that and it takes away From salty Kyler Murray fantasy owners like me. I needed those six points, man I wanted them bad, but I just kind of felt like that was stupid don't Run that play if you're starting quarterback isn't capable of doing that you know, it just I don't know why I just got me upset maybe it's because I needed the fantasy points or Like I just kind of thought it was like dumb and lame. So Sorry if your quarterback can't do the Push push or whatever. They're calling it. Just don't run it man Now it's time for something. I'm very excited about we have a new segment on the podcast if you noticed in the beginning of my Intro today, I didn't say we're doing a fancy football segment and it's because we're not we're scrapping the fancy football segment for this Week, I'm sorry. Go get your news somewhere else. There's a bunch of other guys. We'll do fancy football I've got a new segment titled. What do they do? There are a bunch of teams and their outlook is bleak and some fans are wondering. How does my team improve from here? What's the next step for my team good or bad, you know, so we are gonna start with my Favorite team the New England Patriots who are laughably awful this year. They're two and eight. They just got absolutely Like walloped they get walloped in terms of score. But if you watch the game, they just can't win games They're awful. Their offense is absolutely atrocious. They lost ten to six, which is just pitiful you can't even put up a touchdown in a football game, but Whatever they Have a lot of work ahead of them and I have some pretty bold thoughts and feelings About the New England Patriots and I'm just going to get right to it Mac Jones and Bill Belichick get them off my team right now Matt it's Mac Jones, whatever. He could have been I Believed he could have been the best quarterback in like the second tier of guys He was never going to be an elite guy, but I thought at his best He could play like Kirk Cousins and be fine. That's not happening. That's never happening That cannot will not happen. Mac Jones is cooked. Whatever the Patriots had in him. They broke in him He is not a strong football player and you can tell the Patriots don't trust him to throw the ball anymore They ran it there. Oh, they're like only real successful drive outside of the first drive of the game. They ran the ball Seven times in a row Man, you can't like that's not how you run a successful football team. That's not a strong offense The play calling is so beat down and abysmal that they just don't trust him to fill the football and he threw the worst Interception I've ever seen in my life. Oh my goodness. Take a look at that go on YouTube go on Instagram. It's everywhere It's the worst interception I've ever seen it's lazy lollipop off his back foot right to the guy when he has an open touchdown It's just the worst thing you've ever seen in your life They have to get Mac Jones out of there and they have to get Belichick out of there at the very least They can't let him be the general manager. He can't draft for the life of him. It's abysmal every time They haven't drafted a solid offensive player in Years, I can't remember the last good offensive draft pick that the Patriots have had It's definitely not on their starting lineup right now Cole strange is mid Mac Jones is bad Who else is there Nikhil Harry is off the team? The Patriots need to get the Belichick out of their general manager. He's a great head coach. He's an incredible defensive mind He's the greatest coach of all time in my opinion, but oh my god, he's awful, dude All right We've just got a if he doesn't want to get rid of the general manager role take him out all together clear house I want a new general manager. I want a new head coach new coordinators new everything the coaching staff Completely fresh we have to get rid of the old Patriot way because it just doesn't work anymore if I had to choose my New head coach for the New England Patriots. I want the offensive coordinator from Detroit Ben Johnson what he has done is absolutely incredible this year and He's really turned around Jared Goff's career And I think he could take any rookie quarterback or any quarterback who's going to hit free agency and give them a career year the Patriots also have a lot of money this season and They should probably spend it if they want to be a good football team And I have some highlights of who I would want them to take Tehiggins Tehiggins and Tehiggins you got to get him on your football team right now He's having an off year. So any chance you could do to get him at a discount would be electric Don't let his rough season of injuries and blow games distract you from what he is and what he can be You have to get Tehiggins on your team, even if it's a slight overpay just to give Anyone on that team a weapon no matter what quarterback is moving on to quarterback This is where we're going to hit the draft. The Patriots currently have a top three pick and if they end with The third pick and they lose first of all No matter what if they get a shot at Caleb Williams or Drake May they have to take it Those guys are special if they get the third pick and don't get any of those quarterbacks Marvin Harrison is the guy they need so then they have T Higgins and Marvin Harrison jr And then all of a sudden one of the worst receiving quarters in the league looks like an incredible receiving core for anybody to step in so Those are pretty much my keys to success for the New England Patriots clear house in the coaching staff clear house in the up the front office and New quarterback better weapons you can ride out with that If the let's say the team next year looks like Drake May Tehiggins Kendrick Bourne DeMario Douglas and then some solid offensive line pickups you can totally see a world and where they start making a turnaround and Look like a better faster more More modern football team because that's their issue is they're so set in what worked the last 20 years that they're refusing to get modern That's the end of my podcast, I hope you enjoyed my new section What do they do slash my little Patriots rant this week? But next week I'll maybe have another team for what do they do and see what they do in their future But for now, this is all I've got for you Thank you so much for listening to the entire thing and have a great rest of your day
