Drake is facing the challenge of staying relevant after his songs have been overplayed. He is accused of stealing songs and his legacy is questioned. However, he can still make a comeback by releasing new music and being his authentic self. It is important for him to find a balance and not try too hard. Moderation is key in enjoying things without getting tired of them. All right, and we're back right here on the Unemployment Line, Doc and Larry P talking about too much of a good thing. I do want to ask this question. I think others have addressed this, but we haven't. What is Drake supposed to do now? Because I'll give you another song that came up as an example of like things ran into the ground. It was like Hotline Bling. That's another song where I don't remember the last time somebody was like, I don't like it. Well, first of all, I don't like it because he stole it. Who he stole it from? I'm talking about like the, um, you remember a song called Cha-Cha by Drone? I like to cha-cha too. Yeah. So Drake heard that and then changed Hotline Bling, added that instrumental under Hotline Bling. Oh, so he sampled it. Yeah. But he sampled a song that just came out. Hmm. Whatever. But either way, Hotline Bling was never like the best, but they ran it into the ground. And that made, so we've seen this happen before. What we haven't seen this happen with is like a, like a diss track and they have run, they have run not like us into the ground or in the process of running it into the ground as we speak. But what is Drake supposed to do now? Do what he been doing. Like how good does the next song have to be? Not really. It don't have to be that good. Cause right now he's like, this is the least I've seen the man. You gotta realize Drake, if we're talking about too much of something, Drake was everywhere at one point. This man was out here in the, um, in the warmup lines for Kentucky. He's on the sidelines at the Raptors games. He's at the, um, all the NBA after parties. He was hosting award shows. He's on Saturday Night Live. I think like when, when can he like truly like pop back out and go, he can't pop back out and go full Drake again. I think he can. My thing about this is, uh, I just, I think the one thing that he can't do it, I think that he can't, he can't overdo it. He can't try too hard. I think if he just come out and just be regular old Drake, I mean, Kendrick Lamar won the battle. Kendrick Lamar got a big hit out of it. That's it. That's, that's the sentence right there. Period. And J Cole might be the smartest man of 2024 and all Drake gotta do at this point is just come out with a song. He just got to come back out with music, act as if, all right, cool yo. You realize there was also a point where like Drake was releasing like a new album, it seemed like every other month. It was like, it's a Drake album. Then it's a Drake and 21 Savage album. He was probably in the process of putting together an album with Sexy Red. Like he was just music, music, music, music, music. And if nothing else, Kendrick Lamar has probably saved us from a whole bunch of new Drake music being on the radio. And I don't think, so I don't think, like, like I said, I don't think he needs to try to, or I don't think he needs to try to like get like a new catchy, catchy, uh, viral song. I don't think he needs to try too hard to like, you know, be too tough on that song. Honestly, I think Drake just need to come out with a Drake song, just release whatever he wants. It's not one of them sad Drake songs. I don't want, I don't want sad Drake. He can release that too because at the same time you got to realize also who Drake's audience is. Drake's audience is, you know, majority females. And let me tell you who, who's like the most vocal about, man, I wish I would stop playing that song. Women. And that's my thing. They just like, all I want to do is, um, what was the song Drake had? Um, nice for what they, that's what they want. They're like, they don't, they want, like, can we bring that back? Can we bring that energy back? If he comes out, like I said, if he come out with anything, uh, I mean, even if he come out with some of the sad Drake, the sappy Drake, it is what it is. I'm not listening to sad Drake. I mean, nobody, this is my thing now. This is my thing. Um, and I know we were supposed to be talking about moderation and somehow we, we don't rap beef again, but, um, people talking like we talked about it, we talked about it in that last segment. People talking about, uh, how, uh, Drake's legacy got an asterisk beside it. Or like the hip hop heads got an asterisk beside it because like, um, I forgot basically the way I guess this battle went. And I was like, first of all, hip hop heads, y'all ain't like the man and he fought, he fought back. He did fight back. He just lost. But he fought back. But my thing about it, like hip hop heads, like, don't be sitting here like, usually like, Oh yeah, I'm going to use it like Drake can't, Drake can't be the greatest of all time no more because of this battle. Y'all was saying that before the battle, Drake can't be the greatest of all time because he don't write his own lyrics. He ghost write. He don't really rap like that. He sing. He do all this. Confirmation bias. Y'all want, y'all didn't want the man to win the battle. You didn't want him to continue to do what he was doing. You already did. And that that's kind of what's happening is everybody's jumping out like, like you got your Rick Rosses and you're in the weekends popping out like, yeah, we tried to tell y'all about this dude. Like, yeah. But nobody was listening to you talk about it. Um, I didn't realize it was the, what was it? The weekend was sent the goons to Drake house or did Drake send the goons to the weekends house? Well, I guess some goons got sent to Drake house. I didn't know it was the weekend. Apparently sent the goons to Drake house. So can Canada versus Canada on Canada crime? Yeah. Dang. Y'all wilding in Canada. That's crazy. You know what? This song is not getting played a whole bunch. Canada. Oh, you know that. Nah, I don't think they ain't here for it. They ain't here for it. Come on now. You think if they play that at a Raptors game, that the crowd going to be into it? Yeah. That's sad, man. Canadians love, Canadians love Kendrick Lamar. Actually in the, um, euphoria song, the euphoria song, he, Kendrick Lamar mentioned a Chinese restaurant in Canada and the dude that owned the restaurant basically was saying like he was going to influx of business because of Kendrick Lamar mentioned it. And these are Canadians. They were like, I got to come see the restaurant now. Canadians. This ain't people like visiting from America. Like I'm just coming to see. These are Canadians pulling up. So yeah, they not like us. It's probably running on the radio right now. Other than music, is there anything that you enjoy a whole lot that you're just like, ah, if I do that too much, I'm not going to like it no more. So I'm just not going to keep doing it. I remember, you know, back in the day I used to be a huge fan of orange juice and, um, when I was in college, you know, I started drinking and I just knew I couldn't mix vodka with too much orange juice because I knew I missed vodka with Hawaiian punch a lot. And I, you know, Hawaiian punch by itself started tasting like vodka. So I was like, I can't do too many vodka orange juice cause I ain't, you know, I ain't want the orange juice to start tasting like vodka. I can't drink Hawaiian punch no more just cause Hawaiian punch tastes like vodka. It got vodka in it. So moderation. I had to, I had to, I had to chill. I had to chill on the vodka and the OJ cause you still want to like orange juice. I still want to like orange juice. I don't drink as much orange juice as I used to, but, um, but you still enjoy it every time you have it. Yeah. Every time I have it. And that's because I have that moderation because if I, I knew, I just knew I said, man, if I keep drinking this orange juice, you know, it's like, I like drink, I like the drink and I like the orange juice. Why not combine them together? But I can't do it too much. Don't do that. Don't do it too much. So yeah. You know, stuff like that. Um, let me think of something else. I like chocolate and I like football. I shouldn't eat chocolate while I'm watching football. Chocolate, football and beer. You know, that's what I like. Obesity. That's straight obesity. All that sugar. You got to have discipline. Yeah. Nah. Um, I think about that, man. Like everything needs to come in moderation. I think, you know, eventually you got to let everything run its course and then, you know, it's going to get to the point where like, day, not like us will become a hit or day. Not like this is a hit. If they keep running, it's going to get to a point where everybody's going to be tired of this. So I can give you a good example of that at the concert. If you watch it.
