Shut up, Kaylee. in my house, my mom had a kid super, super duper young, 17, so we just never really talked about birth control, sex, whatever, like we just don't have that conversation, but as I was like doing my own research and research with my friend Savannah, we are looking into the side effects of birth control, and the results are crazy, like if you take birth control, it physically alters your brain chemistry, so you're attracted to different people, so when you go on to birth control, you're attracted to different people, and that's why a lot of girls, if they go off of birth control and they're dating somebody, they break up with them because they're no longer attracted to them, because their brain was altered with that whatever chemical is in birth control. How does it alter the brain? Because it's so bad for you. It has like so many chemicals, and it just seeps into your brain chemistry, like it's actually insane. I would imagine it would be bad for you if it's making you not pregnant when you're supposed to be pregnant. It's so bad for you, and the fact that it stops your period, like that is so bad for you. I didn't grow up talking about it at all, I never really knew what it was, until the doctor asked me when I was like 16 if I'm on it, and I was like, no, I don't really know what it is, because I... We're not putting that on there. Put what on there? I was going to say I'm a virgin, but I don't want to put that on there. Yeah, no, me too. But it is so bad for you, and people don't know that, and it's so normalized. Everybody's like, well, if you're having bad cramps, bad acne, bad this, bad that, go on birth control, and it's not the solution. A lot of people's causes for acne are internal things, like they're not eating right, they're not... It's something inside of yourself that is imbalanced, and they're not looking towards that, they're just like, easy solution, birth control, which sometimes it works for people, most of the time it doesn't. It's really just hand in hand, but it does fluctuate your emotions, and literally just changes the way that you are as a person, which is so terrifying to me. And it makes you gain weight like crazy. Yes. Yeah. People, I've seen TikToks of people who show their before and after, before they started birth control... Birth. Before they started birth control and after, and the difference is crazy. Probably 100 pounds. Exactly. It's so scary. I get birth control and plan B mixed up, what are the differences? I think plan B is just once, right? Plan B is to not get pregnant. That's literally plan B, so plan A is birth control, essentially, so that's to prevent it, but then plan B is if you did not prevent it, and so now it's like, you cannot get pregnant. But plan B is also super bad for you. If you take it all the time, that's terrible for you, it's so bad. And it's like, to me personally, it's the same amount of scariness as birth control. It's just, they're all so bad for you, but they're all so normalized. The same risks. Yeah. A lot of things are bad for us and are normalized in America, especially the food consumption that we have, the types of food that we consume, the types of food that we eat. Fast food, everyone eats fast food, but it is really bad for you, and it makes you literally... We were talking about this in the first episode, but we didn't air it, it was the one we didn't air. Yeah. But Americans are so much more obese and so much, what's the word, less disciplined than other countries because of what we eat, honestly, and how working out is not normal for us. You mentioned that other people, or other countries don't have gyms or something like that. So the United States has so many additives, and they normalize that because the FDA just approves pretty much everything that doesn't kill you immediately. That's just what they do. But yeah, in Europe and stuff, they don't have gyms, or it's just not as available because people don't need them. They eat super healthy, they walk around everywhere, they're not just sitting at their desks in corner offices doing nothing, waiting for the day to go by. And yeah, they walk everywhere, which I think is so cool. I like being in college, and I can walk everywhere because it makes me feel more productive and more active. I agree. Waking up in the morning and being forced to go on a walk has made me so much more like a morning girl because I hate mornings. Bro, same. I hate them. I wake up and I hate everything. I look at the pillow beside me, I hate it. I have thrown pillows across the freaking room in the mornings because I'm so mad at nothing. I'll get mad at my roommate, like, I can't handle it. And then I have to go to class. Why are you making me go to class at eight in the morning? Mornings are for sleeping. I missed class this morning because I had to sleep. I had to sleep and I can't. I'm not a morning person either, but what really affects me in the morning is if somebody talks to me the wrong way or if they make a joke. Shut up. I can't. I cannot.
