The person in the transcription is testing their recording equipment and discussing the concept of a podcast about whiskey history. They plan to explore different decades and how they impact the spirits. The podcast will be like a puzzle, revealing the story of whiskey over time. The order of the decades will be mixed up for added fun. Test, test. 1, 2, 3, test. Okay. So when I'm, uh, I, I have a, I've turned on audacity and pushed the record button. Um, is it just going to record my vocals to that and it'll just be. Okay. Oh, okay. I should be on. Yeah. Worst comes to worst, we just record it again. You know, if we have to, it's no big deal. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Bye. Okay. Sure. Uh, I've been a whiskey writer for more than a decade and I've written two books on cocktails and I'm the founder slash curator of the Manhattan whiskey club. Sure. Sarah and I felt that it would be cool to take an historical look at particular decades, um, and explore how those decades affect the spirits that we love. So we're hoping that in this way, we in the listeners can track trends and changes for good or ill in the course of whiskey history. That said, we are going to mix it up a bit and we will not do the decades in order because we'll be the fun of that. Perhaps it's best to think of this podcast as a puzzle where we give you the listener a few pieces at a time and you can work on the corners and the side as we knit the story of whiskey to completion.
