Some parents are concerned that tutors and students being close in age leads to wasted time chatting during tutoring sessions. Mason Xu, Head of Tuition Classes at Austin Education, says tutors need to be more professional and less like high school friends. New tutors can be inexperienced and easily distracted, which may affect the quality of the classes. Robinson Zhang, a student at Trinity Grammar School, believes that the lack of experience makes new tutors less capable. However, not all new tutors are the same. Reported by Xueying Hao for Deakin College News. Some parents say that the tutors and students are too close in age, which would waste time chatting about things unrelated to learning during their extracurricular tutoring sessions. Mason Xu, Head of Tuition Classes at Austin Education, said these new tutors will need to pay attention to the way they interact with students when teaching. They cannot talk to the students like they are high school friends anymore, but more as experienced adults. New tutors also be inexperienced and easily distracted, which can result in the classes not working as well as expected. Robinson Zhang, a student of Trinity Grammar School who graduated in 2023, said that the lack of experience of new tutors is determinant to students. Most of them will be friends way easier with the students, but it's just the maturity levels and limited experiences and limited professionalism just really makes them not capable of being a tutor. So, like my personal experience, the view in this post do not represent all new tutors. This is Xueying Hao reporting for Deakin College News.
