Today, I will be informing you of some of the topics and content that will be provided and discussed on this podcast. Today is the first initial broadcast of Cheat Codes, so if you're listening, welcome. I hope you enjoy the content and find it to be helpful, and I also hope the content provided will be welcomed with an open mind, especially when hearing words such as submission and role. In many of the words and word topics and themes that may seem to be culturally insignificant during this day and this time, especially since these words and adjectives of these words have been looked down upon, not only in the African-American population, but across the world. Now, I am black, and I am an advocate for the black and brown people in our communities. This podcast will be specifically formulated for that crowd. Now, anyone is welcome to listen and take part in the conversation. However, I feel it my responsibility to mention that my targeted audience will be the most marginalized when addressing environmental, economic, and sociopolitical issues. A lot of the time, these issues tend to wear on marriages and family living. I want to address this, that according to statistics, black women divorce or initiate divorces at a much higher rate nationally than any other race. The statistic sits at 38.9%. According to the Journal of the National Medical Association, educated black women with thriving careers are filing for divorce more nationally than ever. I am an educated black woman who has made educational career, ending with obtaining my master's in social work and my clinical licensure very soon. I have worked full-time and part-time while raising a family, attending school, and wearing many other hats. Now, over the many years me and my wonderful husband have been married, we have had many head-on collisions with barriers that should have almost decapitated us and ended our marriage. Furthermore, many would have given up and walked away. But this podcast isn't about my personal life. Rather than the tools and the lessons I've learned along the way as a wife, as someone who ran away from the topic of submission, even when I started walking in my call, I found it hard to submit and render myself wholeheartedly and fully to my husband. I wanted to be in control. I mean, who doesn't, right? I had to learn the hard way. And it is my responsibility and honor and a privilege to be able to teach other wives and other women how to understand the importance of wifedom and how it is truly an honor and a privilege to submit, right? I also will be discussing topics from my up-and-coming book titled, Cheat Codes, being released soon. A manual for living unapologetically submitted, y'all. Yes, I'm excited because I've lived it. Like succumb to a lot of the many things you struggle with today, I understand the heartbreak. I understand being confused in who to give your mind and your body to. I understand the fear of the unknown. I get it. I never said the process would be easy, but it is possible. Trust me when I say these techniques, these codes will give you a foundation if you're willing to embark on this journey with me and take the first step to formulate your mind to receive and your heart to conceive, right? Moving on for the sake of time, I would also like to mention we will be discussing generational trauma and what that looks like and how we interpret it as adults when being a wife is considered and when building a healthy marriage is also considered. Lastly, I will provide opportunities to promote small Black-owned businesses on my platform. If you're, however, looking for ongoing promotion, this topic will be discussed at a later date. My website will be up and running shortly, so there will be ways that you can contact me directly on there. But like I said before, I will be revisiting this topic shortly.
