The speaker's memoir describes a moment after their brother's death when they experienced a surge of emotions, including loneliness and pain from being ignored by their parents. These emotions were triggered by a friend's remark, causing them to have a panic attack. This event eventually led to a diagnosis of anxiety. The speaker reflects on how their brother's death had a lasting impact on both their family and themselves. My memoir depicts a moment after my brother had died when all of my bottled-up emotions surrounding his death, my loneliness, and the hurt from my parents disregarding me all released at once because of one sentence. My friend's words were my breaking point. Everything that I didn't understand or know how to process that I had been holding in came out quickly. This led to my first panic attack and eventually to an anxiety diagnosis. My brother's death had long-lasting effects on not only my family as a whole, but me as well.
