RTR announced that Ben Hobson is their new driver for the FD competition in 2024. The speaker believes it's a good move to have a younger and talented driver like Ben. However, Ben will face challenges with the new S650 competition car, as even James Dean struggled with it last season. The speaker doesn't expect immediate success but believes Ben will improve throughout the season. Congratulations to Ben Hobson and RTR. It is finally official. RTR announced yesterday that Ben Hobson is their newest driver and will be driving for them in FD competition 2024. What are your guys' thoughts on this move? Me personally, I think it is a solid move getting a younger driver in that seat. Especially one as talented as Ben has been in the Pro Spec Series. However, Ben does have a S550 Mustang he does thrash. So he is not completely new to the platform. But I will say that S650 competition car is a whole new beast. Even James Dean struggled with it earlier in last season. He finally got the hang of it towards the end. So I do think there is going to be some growing pains as there should. I don't think they are going to come out swinging and winning events. But I do think they will be solid. I do think he will be a fast learner. And I do think by the end of the season he will be showing vast improvement. But nonetheless, congratulations Ben Hobson. Congratulations RTR for getting the deal done.
