On today's episode, we'll be about college experiences, more towards our college clubs. Although it is something that is different than I usually do, I hope you find today's episode interesting and for the college students out there, I hope you find it informational. Our first subject would be the process of planning an event. When it comes to planning an event, you have to estimate the number of guests that you would be having and such. You'll also need to know how much supplies you would need and how many people you're going to be estimating to come. When it comes to the college students who are in the club, if you are serving food or if you're making food, almost all members that are going to be handing out food will need to have a food handlers card. If you're reserving a building on campus for a certain amount of time or if it goes past the amount of time before the college closes, you would need to have the building open longer. If you're using an area with an open field, the club is also responsible for cleaning the area. But when it comes to planning the event, you need to have students making flyers and being able to market the event to bring in more guests. Our second subject is going to be the pros of being in a club. In being in a club, you get to be with people who almost think exactly like you and you get to make new friends. The spare time you have, you get to waste it away during it. You also get to put that being in a club on your resume and certain events that you accomplish. The club might also have trips that students get to go on, although there would be some requirements for it. For most clubs, if they don't have the funds that meet the trip, they'd have to do fundraisers so they can make the amount that they're missing for the trip. With the extra money that they make during the fundraiser, they could spend on any other activities. The cons of being in a club would be that the offices in a club would make it seem like it is very important to be there during the meetings and it would make it seem like your whole focus is towards the club. Another would be the trip requirements. It would be you attend a certain amount of meetings and your GPA. With those, there are also people who would say that they would help out with an event but don't come at all, which would mean more work for the other club members. I would like to thank you all for being able to join today's episode on what it is like being in a club. I know that this podcast is kind of short because I wasn't able to get my guest speaker, but I will have my guest speaker for the final podcast. Sorry about that, guys.
