The importance of sharing experiences and adventures is discussed in this transcription. The connection between meaning and adventure is explored, with the idea that working together in teams or partnerships can lead to greater success. While sharing ideas and being part of a team may be uncomfortable at times, it can make life more adventurous. The suggestion is made to consider sharing ideas or forming partnerships to make it easier to achieve goals and potentially have the adventure of a lifetime. Hello, I'm Jeremy Yeater and welcome to the Creative Change Insight for the 22nd of February 2023. Adventures must be shared. A couple of weeks ago, I reflected on the importance of sharing your experiences to appreciate the meaning behind the events and exploits that make up your life. Furthermore, I saw a variation on this theme last week when watching Athel's prequel to The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power. In one scene, a very young Galadriel attempts to persuade a reluctant warrior to join her in her quest to save the southern lands. One of her persuasive arguments is, alone it's just a journey, adventures must be shared. I argued in my earlier post that sharing creates meaning when we do something, so I found this connection between meaning and adventure remarkably insightful. Working together, there is a common thread that runs through The Rings of Power's story and the story of the Great North Run I used to illustrate my earlier post. On most occasions, we are more successful when we do things together. Walking alone is a journey and there is no denying that it is essential from time to time. However, we are built for connection, communication and sharing. Teams and partnerships can achieve more by working together than an individual can by walking alone. Sure, sharing your ideas can leave you vulnerable and being part of a team will require you to tone down your ego from time to time or else it ceases to be a team, so contributing to a joint effort can be uncomfortable. However, this is how life becomes an adventure, not just a journey. How to have an adventure. So, as you set out to create change and make a difference, consider whether sharing your ideas with someone or forming a partnership, however informal, might make it easier to achieve your goal. The reward, after all, could be the adventure of a lifetime.
