The OtterPod is a social science podcast by CSUMB undergraduates focusing on social, racial, and environmental justice. It is part of the new golden age for audio, as podcasts are everywhere and can go viral. Our cell phones allow us to carry a digital audio player and recorder with us at all times. This is an episode of the OtterPod from CSU Monterey Bay. The OtterPod is a social science podcast by CSUMB undergraduates that focuses on issues of social, racial, and environmental justice. Our executive producers are Assistant Professor of Global Studies, Sarah Salazar-Hughes, and Assistant Professor of History, Chrissy Lau. Why are we making a podcast? You might have noticed, but podcasts are everywhere and come in all sorts of varieties. In fact, we're living in what many people are calling a new golden age for audio. We've already seen that audio can go viral in podcast form, and thanks to our cell phones, most of us are carrying around a kind of digital audio player and recorder with us all the time.
