The transcript is a conversation between Joshua SnacksRogers, Hayden Turner, and Tanner Gibson. They discuss various events that took place last week, such as a student business fair, art exhibit, ceramics painting night, and an LGBTQ discussion series. They also mention upcoming events like a ballet performance, free tacos, and a relaxation station. Tanner then provides a rundown of the sports events, including track and field, baseball, tennis, and basketball. They conclude by mentioning their plans to improve the podcast and invite listeners to participate. What up people, it's your host Joshua SnacksRogers. I'm here with Hayden Turner, Tanner Gibson, and today we're going to talk about this week's, next week's, and sporting events. So let's go straight into a quick little rundown of what all happened last week, what did we miss, what happened, let's start it off with on, I think, Tuesday, yeah, Tuesday we had a student business fair, that was from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., it was catered to the medical field, all of that, I hope you guys got the best and most out of that. Then we had Black Student Center had an art exhibit, that was awesome, saw a bunch of people walking in and out, having fun, checking it out. Ceramics Painting Night, Fire at Art Studios, that was on Wednesday, February 22nd, and then we had LGBTQ Discussion Series, Ace Spectrum, that was on Thursday, and it was a pretty good night, it was a pretty good week, I think we had a lot of fun, and then let's get into next week, which we have, this week we had the DIY Essential Oil Rollers event, we have Coffee's and Careers, like I said earlier, there's a key trip coming up at IUPUI, make sure you sign up for that, it's the Ballet Hispanico, Pico's running that, he's a great guy, come out and see that, we have Taco Tuesday, you all want your free tacos, it's free food, I know we're poor, I know we're college students, so let's go get those free tacos, we have a Relaxation Station, everybody is stressed, I don't want any of y'all to be stressed, and we have the SCA Bi-Weekly Meeting, if you want to get involved with everything that goes on campus, from events, to who gets funding, come out to SCA, it's so much fun, we have, is this a key trip? Yeah. We have another key trip, the Anne Frank Opera, it's gonna be a great time, historical, it's gonna be super fun, and yeah, go over, is this a sports email? Yeah, so after that, that's pretty much all the stuff that we have going on for next week, and let's go ahead and shoot this over to our boy, Tandler, who's going to give a last rundown of last week with all the sports, and then what's coming up. All right, all right, I think the best way we can start out this section is going over to my teammates on the track scene. Last Saturday, we competed in the Indoor River States Conference Meet, we had the best finish overall in team history with the women's finishing in second overall and men finishing in fourth. Notable women to shout out, Mikayla Pepperhorn, who grabbed three total medals in long jump, triple jump, and finishing first in the 60-meter hurdle, setting a meet record time of 9.09 seconds, hitting B standard and qualifying for nationals. And to top it off, she was also named Women's Indoor Track Newcomer of the Year, as well as being named to the River States Conference Champions of Character Team, and recently winning Kokomo Athlete of the Week. Over on the men's side, we have the 4x4 team finishing second overall, Clay Brubaker, Isaiah Belcher, Julian Wallace, and Nolan Talley. And notable athletes, Julian Wallace earning two All-RSC medals, along with Nolan Talley, two All-RSC medals. Other individuals earning All-RSC in their respective events, Drew Caldwell, Nick Anders, Clay Brubaker, Isaiah Belcher, Cyrus Felger, Brayden Lake, and Dave Wedmore. We got a lot of quick people. How long has our program been around for? It's been around for about six years now. It's fairly new, but we are currently growing and making a name for ourselves. I was there from the beginning of it. It's really grown. You guys are really stepped up. All right. I think it's time to head over to baseball. They recently finished a four-game series with Middle Georgia State with a record of one in three. And in that winning game, notable performances from Dylan Steele going one-for-four with three RBIs, Will Richter going two-for-three with three RBIs, and Luke Barnes going two-for-four with three RBIs as well. Shout-out to J.T. Holton. He was recently named River States Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week. He threw six innings, only allowed one run, and struck out nine. He is currently 2-0 on the season and looking very strong. Our baseball team is going to do good this year. Absolutely. I'm loving the vibe right now. I mean, we're working out with them all the time in the gym. We see what they're putting on those racks. Absolutely. All right. I think it's time to head over to tennis. Last night, our tennis team went off against the 10th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University team. It was a loss, but the Cougars gave them a run for their money. Notable performances from Mariah Oliveira. She fought hard against IHU's number two singles player, losing 6-3 and 6-4, but very good finish from her. Very solid performance. And Gabby Orlando, who also played well, unfortunately fell 6-3 and 6-3, but still a very solid performance. I mean, hey, it's hard going up against somebody that big. Absolutely. Number 10 in the nation's crazy. I'm proud of my girls that go out there and really step up. Yeah. And to finish it off, basketball. Last night, they had a big win, a major win against Ohio Christian, 102-74. Leading scorers include freshman Ty Willis with 23 points, senior Hunter White with 16, senior Darian Borch with 12 points, and sophomore Noah Harris with 11. And the Cougars will host Point Park this upcoming Saturday in the RSC semifinals. Should be a fun game to pop out, too. Oh, yeah. They really sent them boys packing home. They do. Hoping to get another conference championship under their belt. Yeah. And hope to make another national appearance. Who doesn't love to see them win? All right. That wraps up all the sports from the last week. I'll send it back to my co-hosts. It's going to be a great first episode. We're hoping to make it a little bit better, have a little higher quality, and really get after it in this upcoming time. We want to get this first episode out and really hit the ground running. It may not be the best right now, but we're going to make it way better in the future. And we want to just inform you Cougars and really get after this in the future. And if any of you out there that are listening make music or have something that you want to say on the cast, would like to be a special guest star here soon, we would love to hear it. You can go ahead and email myself, Joshua Rogers, Tanner Gibson, or just see us in the hallway. Talk to us, see what's going on, and we'd love to get more people out here. Make sure we can get everybody's voice heard. And to all of the athletes, if you would like to possibly be featured in one of our podcasts, come up to me in the hallway or Hayden or Snacks and just talk to us. We can get you in the next one. I think that would be nice. That's going to be our wrap. We'll talk to you guys all later.
