Deacon and Deaconess Kiyosan from Harvest Chapel International discuss how to keep hearing from God. They emphasize the importance of dimming the noise by eliminating distractions and having a quiet time. Anticipating God's voice involves seeking His face in prayer, fasting, and prioritizing His opinion. Lastly, they stress the significance of doing what God says, as it demonstrates trust and obedience. They encourage listeners to practice these strategies regularly to have a closer relationship with God.
Salaam Precious One, God bless you for making time to be here with us again for our next meeting for our morning glory devotion. We are Deacon and Deaconess Kiyosan from the Harvest Chapel International, Denyame Kumasi and we are excited about what God is about to share with us. Let us kindly begin with a word of prayer. Our Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us here to teach us your word. Nourish us with your truth. In Jesus name, Amen.
Amen. Let us kindly take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8. Joshua 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Today we bring you the fourth and last part of the series titled, Hearing from God.
Hearing from God. And in this fourth episode, we attempt to answer the question, how to keep hearing? How to keep hearing? Our scripture reading shall be taken from Proverbs chapter 8 verse 32 to 34. Proverbs chapter 8 verse 32 to 34. I will be reading from the English Standard Version. And now, all sons, listen to me. Blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instructions and be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.
The Lord add his blessings to the hearing and reading of his word. Thanks be to God. Amen. Hearing from God. How to keep hearing? Up to this point, by God's grace, we have come to understand that God still speaks even in our current age, and it takes them that know his word to discern his voice. In today's concluding episode, we explore what it takes to keep hearing from God. Bearing testimonies of having heard from the Lord once or twice or a few more times is good.
However, the Lord yearns for us to hear from him a lot more. Remember, he still has a lot to say. What must we do then to keep hearing his voice daily or as often as possible? Let us look at three scripture-based strategies that put us in a position to keep hearing from him. To simplify remembering these strategies, we call them Operation DAD. The first D stands for Dim the Noise. We all know how difficult hearing can be when we are in a noisy environment.
This is equally true when it comes to hearing from God. Dimming the noise requires that we do all we can to set the environment right for God to speak to us. It means doing away with distractions and giving God our attention. This is one of the reasons why having a quiet time is so crucial to the believer, for it is in such moments of quiet and deep focus that we make room for God to speak to us, and it is for the same reason that the enemy keeps bringing various distractions our way.
Jesus showed us the way to keep hearing from the Father daily. In Mark 1.35, we are told of his daily routine of rising a great while before day, departing into a quiet solitary place and waiting before the Lord. After we've dimmed out the noise, the second strategy, which is our A, is to Anticipate. Anticipate. To anticipate means to have an expectation of hearing from God, to have a burning desire to hear God speak to you. It means seeking his face in prayer, waiting on him with fasting, and as he's searching for his voice in the scriptures, seeking his opinion and prioritizing it over the opinions of men.
To anticipate means to look forward to hearing his voice, not only ranting out our desires in prayer, but also listening for him to speak back to us. The faithful Father has promised us in Jeremiah 33, verse 3, that when we call on him, he will answer and he will tell us great things we have not known. Let us use this as our trump card and call on him and he will speak to us again and again.
The third strategy to get God to speak to us regularly, which is our last D, is Doing What He Says. Doing what he says. This means putting into action all he ever tells us. The more we do his will, we demonstrate to him that we trust him and have faith in him. There is no father who does not love to speak to his obedient children. If we fail to act on what he said in the past, why would he want to keep speaking to us? Jesus summarizes this in John 14, verse 21, saying, Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he is the one who loves me, and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
Precious beloved, in conclusion, God has a lot to tell you and me, wonderful things which will blow our minds and bring us to a successful end. It is his desire to speak to us on a regular basis. However, whether we will hear from him often or rarely is entirely dependent on us. Let us consciously decide to keep practicing or preaching B.A.D. Always remember to dim the noise. Anticipate his voice and do just as he says. God richly bless you.
Let us take our memory verse for today. Our memory verse shall be taken from Proverbs 8, verse 34. Proverbs 8, verse 34. I will be reading from the English Standard Version. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. Amen. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Our loving Father, who desires to speak with us regularly, we are grateful for opening our eyes to this truth.
We thank you for your abundant grace given to us to make our preaching B.A.D. possible until your voice becomes our everyday hearing. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. Precious one, as we have studied today, making God's voice our daily hearing is entirely up to us. Let us put in considerable effort to practicalize these strategies. Thank you for being with us all through the series on Hearing from God. It is our prayer that the lessons learned will never be in vain.
God routinely bless you. Shalom.
