The radio broadcast discusses the idea that God has a plan for his people. It emphasizes that God's plans are often different from what we expect, but they are always better. The example of the Israelites' journey to the promised land is given, showing how God led them on a longer route to avoid war and ensure their safety. The broadcast encourages listeners to trust in God's plan for their lives and to follow his guidance. The Word have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee. Shalom precious one, God richly bless you for tuning in to Radio HCI today for our morning glory devotion. We thank God for the gift of life and for the privilege to look into His word. We know that as we keep on hearing His word, we are being changed from one degree of glory into another all to the praise and glory of His name. To be facilitating this morning's devotion are Pastor and Blessed Bruce Smith from Harvest Chapel International, Kumasi. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Gracious and everlasting Father, we thank You for the privilege and honor to hear Your word. Bless us, O God, as we listen to Your word. Grant us the grace to be doers and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves. In Jesus' mighty name we pray with thanksgiving, Amen. Let us kindly take a confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the Lord shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success, Amen. Our theme for today's devotion is God has a plan. God has a plan. And we shall be taking our scripture reading from Exodus chapter 13 verses 17 and 18. Exodus chapter 13 verse 17 to 18. When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that ran through Philippine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the promised land. God said, if the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt. So God led them in a runabout way through the wilderness towards the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. Verse 18 again. So God led them in a runabout way through the wilderness towards the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. This is the reading of the word. Thanks be to God. God has a plan. The Bible is scattered with a lot of promises for the children of God. Our God is not shy of speaking and for every promise he makes, he has a plan in place to ensure it comes to pass. God never forsakes his own, neither does he abandon his word concerning us. Sometimes when the challenges of life become so unbearable and fierce, we are made to think that God does not care. If he cares, why has he allowed the battle to rage on for such a long time? Why am I in this situation, we may ask. Beloved, God so much has you at heart, more than you can imagine. He is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent. He won't make that promise when he knows it is not possible. He won't give you that assurance when he has no plan in place to bring it to pass. The challenge most of the time is, man usually has the way that he expects things to be done or executed, but God always has a better plan. We read in Isaiah chapter 55 verses 8 and 9, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Amen. God sets from a position of advantage, nothing is hid from him. He knows the end from the beginning, and so we can always trust him when he says he has a better plan than that which we are suggesting and think is obviously the best plan to execute. God had promised to deliver his people from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them onto a good and large land, onto a land flowing with milk and honey. When the time finally came for this great deliverance, one would have thought that God would lead them in the shortest possible way, which was through the way of the land of the Philistines to the promised land. But no, God had other plans. He led them through the longer route, which was through the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. But for the insight we receive from Scripture, this decision by God would have been deemed cruel. We see, however, that this plan was the best route for the Israelites, as the shorter and preferred route would have resulted in war with the Philistines and ultimately a return to bondage in Egypt. Such is the wisdom and thoughtfulness of our Lord and Chief Commander. As the Israelites approach the promised land, God executes another master plan concerning his promise to bring them onto a land flowing with milk and honey. Let's read something from Exodus chapter 23 verse 27 to 30. I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you. I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little, I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and you inherit the land. God thought about His people. If He had driven all the enemies at a go, the Israelites would have had more pressing issues at hand, a desolate land to deal with, and attacks from the beasts of the field. Beloved, the Lord's promises concerning your lives are yea and amen in Christ, and He is your best and safest guide to lead you into your promised land. There may seem to be a better and shorter route, but the end thereof is this. We can trust in God's plan concerning His promises. As long as we stick to His leading and direction, we would safely arrive at our destination. Amen. Our memory verse for the day shall be taken from Exodus chapter 23 verse 30. Exodus chapter 23 verse 30, and we will be reading from the New King James Version. Little by little, I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and you inherit the land. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Our Lord and Master Jesus, we thank you for your word to us. Father, we thank you for your plans concerning our lives. We acknowledge you God that our thoughts and our ways are not your thoughts and your ways. We thank you for your plan concerning our lives. We thank you for your plans concerning our lives. We thank you for your plans concerning our lives. We acknowledge you God that our thoughts and our ways are not your thoughts and your ways. You always have a better plan for us. We yield ourselves, O God, to your plan concerning our lives. Grant us, O God, the grace to follow, even when we don't understand, that ultimately we shall safely arrive at our destination. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. God richly bless you for staying tuned, beloved. Keep your dial on Radio ACI Today.
