The students from St. Mary's and St. Lucia discuss education in Belgium and the UK as well as technology in schools. They compare their experiences and opinions. Leonard prefers Belgian education because it is less chaotic and teachers have better relationships with students. Ariana thinks the UK is stricter. They also discuss the availability of resources in schools. Leonard finds the area in the UK different from Belgium. Ariana prefers studying in the UK but likes the cleanliness and bike usage in Belgium. They conclude that both schools are different due to their environments. Hi, we are students from St. Mary's and St. Lucia and we are going to discuss education here in Belgium and in the UK and also technology in schools. Juan, what do you think about the education in the UK? So, in my opinion, I think that England has really good education, but I think it depends on where you live. You have a better experience or you might have a really bad experience. Leonard, what do you think about the education in Belgium? Yes, I think there is good education. I prefer the Belgian education over the British education because there is a lot of noise in the classes here in the UK. It is quite chaotic. There are three teachers in one room, which makes it really chaotic and that is not the case in Belgium. I have the feeling that the teachers in Belgium have a better relationship with the students, which makes students motivated to go to these teacher's classes. It is more strict in Belgium than it is here. People really follow the rules and they act more like adults than they do here. Teachers are really interested in students' private lives as well, which makes it better to follow the rules. Okay, okay. Ariana, I have a question. Do you agree with Leonard? I think that the UK is more strict than Belgium. I feel like the rules are stricter and the teachers are stricter as well, especially with using phones and stuff. It is just stricter than Belgium. Okay. You guys are a little behind in this school. I mean, there are computer classes, which is okay, but you guys don't have the computers that you think were used in school and that school gave you, so you guys probably don't use it as much as you do in Belgium. Okay, so you think in Belgium you have better resources to study? Not really. I have a little chatty routine now. So, for you in Belgium, you think it is more easy to do the work? Sometimes. Leonard, you have been in the UK for two days now. What is your experience? What do you think about the area where you are staying and the area of the school? It is really different as it is in Belgium. We came here this morning and we were more than an hour late because there is lots of traffic, no bikes, like in Belgium, everyone goes by bike, and here it is more ghetto. Okay, so Ariana, let me ask you the same question. You have been in Belgium for three days. If you had the chance here, do you prefer the education in Belgium or the UK? Do you prefer to study in Belgium or the UK? I feel like I prefer studying in the UK because from the classes that I have been in Belgium, especially the maths class, I feel like the work is very difficult compared to our work and I feel like the maths here is already hard enough for me. I feel like the maths there is really hard, but I also really like the classes and the cleanliness in the school in Belgium and how everyone used bikes to get to school and I feel like it was less crowded than the UK. Of course, you need to think that where we are right now, Croydon, is the south of London and if you compare it to Courne, it is like there is a big difference, don't you think? Yeah, I feel like there is a big difference. It depends on if you are used to living in the city or used to living in a rural area. I think that we can conclude that both schools are different, but it is because it is both in a different environment, so that changes a lot. One school is in the city, the other one is just in the village. So, the conclusion is that, yeah, the area has a lot of impact. Thank you for listening, guys. Bye! Bye!
