Hamid Hesi welcomes listeners to the Chill Spot, an online platform for meaningful conversations. He shares his background in radio and his decision to create the podcast. The Chill Spot will feature different voices and segments, covering a wide range of topics. Hamid promises engaging discussions and guests from various backgrounds. Listeners can tune in at their convenience and share the content with others. While Hamid initially felt nervous about doing the first episode alone, he is excited about the venture and hopes to make the conversations more interesting and beneficial for listeners. The podcast team includes Hamid, Siphelele, and Ziyanda. And you have made it! You have made it! Welcome to the Chill Spot, welcome to the online platform that is aimed at giving you information and stuff, and whatever else that needs to be given. I'm Hamid Hesi, by the way, and yes, this is the first episode that was supposed to take place yesterday, actually, and I was supposed to have the team with me, but due to some commitments that people have, you know, it couldn't happen, and I must say, you know, I was kind of feeling down about it, but I was like, okay, you know, everything happens for a reason, right? And I was like, okay, no, look, let's do it, you know, they say the best times or the best way sometimes to do things is actually do it alone, so that you can actually get a feel of things, and actually get an experience of how things are, and how you can actually navigate through this world, you know, alone. I don't know why my phone is not on silent, but yes, it is on silent now. But yeah, as I said, there may be some disturbing sounds there and there because there's a guy cutting grass outside, so yes, he's actually just busy there. So, as I said, my name is Hamid Hesi, and I am a young man from Port Elizabeth, born, bred and buttered in Motherwell, yes, and yeah, most of my life I spent in Motherwell. I went to primary school in Motherwell, Dumani Primary School, yeah, and from there I went and had a very shaky high school start, I must say, where I actually, I call it a bridging course, I call it a bridging course now, you know, because I went to another school for grade eight, it's called Siapambi, that time it was actually ending at grade nine, I think, yes, it was from grade R to grade one, to grade nine, sorry. And yes, I went there, and from there I went to Ndyebo Senior Secondary School for my grade nine to matric, yes, we have matric around here. I can't say the same for some of our leaders, you know, but yeah, we're not there. Yes, and from there, yeah, I've been around, you know, I've been around, but one of the things that I've done recently in my life was being involved in radio, you know, I was a, first and foremost I first featured on a radio station, I was in PE, I was a co-host of a youth show, you know, and we had fun times, you know, and yeah, it was very fun times, you know, and a lot happened, you know, a lot of interviews were had, and yes, a lot of planning took place, and actually, yeah, I exited there and continued with life. Actually, I was a technician, you know, where I was working, but I actually dabbled in some presenting also, and from there, I actually became the top ten presenter of the station, and I was doing the top ten, and it was fun times also, you know, I interviewed many nice famous speakers, I've interviewed, I've sat down with, you know, likes of Bongeziwe Mabandla, I've sat with the likes of The Muffins, I've sat with the likes of Tarek Weiss Malinga, and all of these names that I've actually sat with in terms of having interviews with them and everything else, and featured part time, you know, on the drive time show there on the station there, and yeah, from there, actually, I progressed to doing the afternoon drive of the station, and yes, I did that for about a year, and from there, I, okay, someone is actually knocking, so I just need to just proceed to them real quick, you know, it's real, it's happening, you know, so from there, actually, I was tasked with the task of doing, so, yes, so I was just alerted that the washing machine is done, because I was doing some laundry, so, yeah, that's life stuff, you know, so, yes, as I was saying, I actually moved towards doing the afternoon drive there, and when I was doing the afternoon drive there, it was a very nice journey, I must say, where I interviewed interesting figures, I interviewed very sort of influential people, and sometimes politicians, sometimes I got into trouble with some topics, and some weddings that I had there, but it was very nice, it was a very nice experience that I did, and I actually sort of stepped down from my position at around, it's been a month now, I think, I think, almost a month, almost a month since I actually stepped down from my position, and from there, I spoke to a few colleagues and a few friends of mine who were saying, we don't believe that the work is done, we don't believe that you actually, you must, you must actually end here, you know, we move to different careers, you know, I'm doing different stuff now, but way, way different, you know, from radio, but some people actually believe that there's still a voice out there, you know, my voice still needs to be heard out there, you know, and I thought of creating this spot, you know, where I called it the chill spot, I don't know why I called it the chill spot, actually, in the first place, because I was just sitting randomly at three o'clock and just brainstorming, you know, and doing some stuff, and actually, you know, thought of, you know, naming it the chill spot, you know, because it's where I actually aim to actually just have chill conversations, you know, where I welcome everyone, you know, to the chill spot, you know, where it's going to be your go-to guide, I don't even want to call it a podcast, your go-to sort of conversation spot, you know, for meaningful conversations, and, you know, to create bad vibes, you know, and I am going to be your host, Hamid Esi, and I am going to be having different sort of segments within, you know, the actual channel that we have actually created here, I am going to be having different voices that are going to be posted in different days, the likes of Ziyanda Aqeelah, and that is going to be with, also, yeah, we got some few people, we roped some few people with, and we were like, we are not taking the fall alone, we are going to be taking the fall with you, comrades, and they actually sort of concurred, and they were like, okay, let's do it, you know. So, in this podcast, we actually create a virtual, you know, oasis where listeners actually can escape the noise of everyday life and sink into engaging discussions, okay, on a wide range of topics, you know, from, you know, deep dives into philosophy, personal growth, to light-hearted chats, you know, about culture, norms, entertainment, you know, and everything in between, you know, and, you know, it promises, I will try our best, you know, to be a refreshing blend of insight and realization. So, I will be, you know, having guests from all walks of life, you know, some thinkers, some creators, experts, you know, and everyday enthusiasts, you know, to unpack ideas and share stories, you know, explore the beauty of the human connection, you know, so you will be able to actually get this, you know, wherever you are and whenever you want to get it, you know, you may be sitting in a taxi, you may be sitting wherever. So, we are going to be with you, and you can be with us by actually clicking into our StreamYard kind of link and actually tuning into the conversations that we actually have and we will be posting them, you know, every week and actually having a sort of thingy, thingy, thingy there where maybe you are going to create a post of some sort where we are going to be announcing as to what is going to be happening next, what is going to be coming through in the next week, in the next, you know, sort of, kind of couple of days. So, actually, I must say, you know, I am a bit proud of myself that I actually took the dive or the leap of faith in terms of doing the first episode. I must say, you know, I was very scared, very scared to go, you know, of doing something like this alone because it is the first episode, so you can't flop it, you know. So, yeah, I feel, you know, I personally feel that it is going to be a very good venture to actually, you know, take myself in. So, yeah, so, yeah, kick back and relax, you know, we are going to be taking you on journeys, you know, and I plan to make it very interesting, not as boring as the first episode that I, you know, yeah, I hope it is not boring to your ears, but yes, yes, we are actually planning to get to a point where we make the conversations more beneficial and more interesting and more sort of rewarding for you as the sort of streamer or the sort of kill spotter, I would say so. So, yes, yes, if you can, you are welcome to actually, you know, share whatever, you know, we actually post here and you are actually welcome to actually, you know, just spread the word, you know, and just ask the fan who has a fan that has a fan, you know, that have you heard that, you know, there is a kill spot somewhere, you know. Yeah, so, actually, if you want to know, there is a backing track that is actually playing behind the scenes there, it is one from Faith Soul, it is called The Path. I don't know why I chose it, maybe it is the path that is meant to be chosen, I don't know, but I was looking for a few backgrounds, you know, this morning that I can actually utilize and the one that stood out for me was The Path by Face Soul and I think it sort of resonates with the path that we are actually willing to take and resonates with the idea, you know, that we actually have. So, I am actually sort of still sitting with the team. Oh, speaking of the team, speaking of the team, the team comprises of myself as the foremost, Hamid Hesi, and a good friend of mine called Siphelele, a very good friend of mine that is actually, that should be here now, I don't know where he is in the world, his phone is off. So, yeah, here we are, doing a first episode alone and he is not there. Let me check him on WhatsApp actually, while I am speaking, that where is he, maybe we can call him and find out where is he in this life. So, yeah, and obviously, the likes of Ziyanda, that is going to be in the team also, she is part of the team, I must say. And, yeah, and a few other people that helped us there and there in terms of press releases and everything. I would like to say a big shout out to Yibanati Ralo for doing our press releases and everything else. He is very freaking good, he is good, he is good, sorry for the freaking thing, but yeah, he is a very good chap. So, yes, and other guys like the likes of Dr. Chaipa, Colin Chaipa that actually helped us to gather the equipment that we have. Yeah, so, yes, I am grateful, grateful for them, grateful for what they do. So, yes, I am not going to keep it long, this is our first episode of the Chill Spot. I hope that you are going to find yourself here every now and then, every time we post. I hope you are going to be supporting the channel, I hope you are going to be supporting the journey, I hope you are going to be posting the journey and, yes, I am Hamid, as I said, I am the, I am just a presenter, you know, I am just one of those, I am just one of the voices on the channel. So, yes, this was the first episode or the first introduction of myself and the team. So, maybe the next time I am going to catch the team, yeah, but, yes, this was the first episode of the Chill Spot. Thank you very much. Till next time. I'm grateful for the music, I'm so grateful for the people, who love and care for me, I love and care for you, and I appreciate you more. Oh, I appreciate you more. You're the reason I sing this song.
