This 5-minute Bible study episode titled "Apprenticeship Part 4" discusses the importance of mentoring. The speaker, Reverend Dr. Femi Albert Oduwole, explains that mentoring allows us to learn before being tested and that it is a discovery rather than a decision. He also emphasizes that mentoring is done in levels, with shepherds guiding and teaching, and fathers providing guidance and support. The speaker advises on the importance of choosing mentors who know the way, work the way, and can show us the way. Overall, the message encourages finding the right mentors and following their guidance for success. Hello and welcome to join this chariot for a 5-minute Bible study. This 48th episode on A Step of Faith is titled Apprenticeship Part 4. My name is Greg Alabi and I am inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. In the previous episode, we had the opportunity to learn from a servant of God by the name of Reverend Dr. Femi Albert Oduwole. He shared some deep secrets about mentoring. The mentor and the mentee or the protégé. He told us the history of how mentor and mentorship started and also told us success stories from the Bible that those who allow themselves to come under tutelage to be mentored turned out successful. So if we do, we will learn and become successful too. I want you to listen again as he continues to bless us in today's episode. Because, you see, experience will give you the test before the learning. Mentoring will give you the learning before the test. You see, with mentoring, it's like getting the learning without paying the tuition. Somebody has paid it, you are just getting it. The second thing I want you to know is that mentoring is a discovery, not a decision. When it comes to Biblical mentoring, you don't just decide, you discover. In Ezekiel 34 and verse 23, God said, I'm the one that will choose a shepherd, a mentor for you. The third thing I want to say is that mentoring is in levels. Yes, the Bible talks about the level of a shepherd, of teachers, of fathers. When it comes to shepherds, shepherds are people that have your interest at heart and they want to guide you to beautiful gardening and to beautiful water. According to Psalm 23, both teachers teach and pray, but fathers are different. Fathers bathe you. In 1 Corinthians 4, verse 15, I love the way Paul put it, he said, you can have a thousand instructors, teachers, and shepherds. He said, but listen, you cannot have many fathers, because fathers are going to bathe you. And if you have too many people that are going to bathe you, I tell you sincerely, you have a confused DNA. It's very important for you to know where you relate with people. I'm not saying you cannot have multiple mentors. No, not at all. The Bible made us realize in 1 Corinthians 3, 6, and 7, that I, Paul, can plant and Paul can water, but God will give increase. 1 Corinthians 3, 6, and 7, which means that several people can play a role in your life. But notwithstanding, it seems to be very clear about the fact that some of them will be teachers, some of them might be shepherds, but fathers will be very, very few. So you need to understand that. You need to understand you need mentors, and you need to know how to choose your mentors. Your mentor is somebody that knows the way, works the way, and can show you the way. Those three are very important. They know the way. Not only do they know it, they are working it. They are not just saying, do as I say. They are saying, do as I do. Then they can show you the way. They know they work, but they don't show. Once again, my name is Albert Oduwole, and this is Join This Chariot with Greg Alabi, and we are talking about mentoring. Wow, wow, wow. That is deep. That is rich. That is a great resource that we have learned from the servant of God, Rev. Dr. Fermi, Albert Oduwole from Nigeria. We want to thank him for being a blessing to us in this episode. I also want to encourage you to listen to this message again and again. Share it with friends and family, and they all will richly be blessed. Dr. Oduwole said it is important for us to have a mentor, and it is important for us to select our mentor right, and it is important for us to always follow mentorship. I guarantee you, if we follow these teachings that we are learning from this man of God, we will become successful, because everybody who was mentored in Scripture turned out successful. Let us pray. I pray the Lord to lead us to the right mentors, in Jesus' name. Amen. Please visit our website, gregalabi.com. Look for the podcast. You will find previous and current messages. God bless you.
