Taking a step of faith is important because not doing so can have negative consequences. These include remaining stagnant, things deteriorating, falling behind, losing value, limiting growth, missing out on God's destiny, becoming complacent, regretting later in life, and hindering future generations. We can learn from God's step of faith in the creation story, where He brought light into darkness. It is important for us to take our own steps of faith for ourselves and for the benefit of future generations. Hello, we welcome you to join this chariot for a 5 minute Bible study. This second episode on A Step of Faith is titled Creation Story. My name is Greg Alabi and I am inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. Going back to the creation story in the first chapter of the book of Genesis would be a good place to start from. Some of the implications of not taking the step of faith if we do not take that step of faith, chances are that we may experience any of the following. Number one, we could remain at the same level, same spot and be stagnant. Two, things may start deteriorating, getting bad slowly and unnoticed. Three, we may fall behind as things and people around us are making progress in their own way. Four, we may likely lose value and lose relevance. Five, we may be limiting ourselves and never grow into our full potential. And six, we may never enter the better and glorious destiny that God has for us. And seven, we could become complacent and bragging about being satisfied with the little that we have achieved, comparing ourselves with those behind us. And number eight, all we have could be very limiting and be a very limited resource because of our unwillingness to take a step of faith. Number nine, later in life, we may regret not taking that step of faith. And number ten, a step of faith will give our children and future generations a better opportunity and leverage. But if we do not take the step of faith, they may face more difficult challenges to pick up with little or no head start. Our own parents took a step of faith the way they could. They left their roots. They took the chances and the risks. Their efforts gave us a degree of leverage that we are enjoying today. But if we remain at the same level with little or no significant progress, then our children now face a difficult jump start in life in a more competitive world all because we will not take a step of faith. Not good! Now let's learn some valuable lessons from God himself taking the step of faith in the creation story in Genesis chapter one. Verse one to three says, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was upon the face of the water. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. First lesson here, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was upon the face of the water. And the Spirit of God was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was upon the face of the deep.
