In this Bible study episode, the speaker discusses the importance of not giving up and trying different methods when faced with challenges. They emphasize the belief that with God, all things are possible. They share a story about a woman who passed an exam by changing her study routine. The speaker also mentions a story from Luke 5 about friends who couldn't find a way to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus because of a crowded house. The lesson is to think outside the box and try unconventional methods when faced with obstacles. The episode ends with a prayer for guidance. Hello and welcome to Join This Chariot for a 5-Minute Bible Study. This twelfth episode on A Step of Faith is titled, Try Another Method, Part 1. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. Some of the things you may likely hear from people who give up or those who never took that step of faith may include the following, I did everything I could, I tried my very best. It's not that easy. It's impossible. It's very difficult. There is no way forward. The risk is too much. If you think it's that easy, you go try it yourself. Do you know how many times I tried? Who knows, maybe it's not the will of God. Don't even go near. You want to try? Good luck to you. Dear friends, although those who talk this way may have their reasons, but we know from scriptures that not only did the Bible say with God all things are possible, Mark chapter 9 verse 23 in the New King James Version says, If we believe all things are possible to him who believes. The message translation puts it this way, Jesus said, If? There is no ifs among believers. Anything can happen. Proverbs chapter 26 verse 13 says, A lazy man says, There is a lion on the road. A fierce lion is in the streets. Another translation calls him a slacker. The amplified version says, He gives lame excuses. Now please understand that we are not trying to judge you or condemn your attempts or downplay your challenges. Oh no, not at all. My point? If one road closes, then try another method. Think outside the box. Step back and re-strategize. Some years ago, I met a lady who was studying to prepare for an examination, a professional exam. She had previously attempted and failed a couple of times. About to give up, I advised she spend some time at night to study. She said she tried to, but falls asleep early hours of the evening. Then study during the day. She said she was too busy with work and then looking after the children, cooking, doing homework with them, and some other house chores. Then advised she goes to bed at her usual early hours of the night, wake up early hours of the morning, and put in one or two hours to study. Now if you do not plan to spend ten hours every night to sleep, then invest one to two hours early morning before the kids will wake up. Try another method. Long story short, she did exactly that, and she passed her professional exam, now working in a career of her choice, better pay. Now let's learn some valuable lessons from some gentlemen who wanted to take a step of faith to help their friend, but the situation appeared almost impossible, Luke 5, 18-19. Their friend was completely paralyzed, could not move his hands or feet. This gentleman wanted to bring him to Jesus to heal him. Unfortunately, the house where Jesus was was overcrowded. Verse 19 says they could not find a way because of the crowd. This was where some people would have easily given up saying, I tried, I'm willing, I put in the effort. See for yourself, no way forward. What else should I do? Dear friends, if in our journey to take a step of faith we meet roadblocks, resistance, obstacles, or impossibilities ahead, it is time to think outside the box and try another method. Do the unconventional. Luke 5, verse 19 says, instead of going back, instead of fighting their way through the crowd, instead of begging or appealing to the people around, instead of going through the door, instead of waiting patiently until Jesus is done and the crowd goes away, now hear this, we must know the difference between patience and wasting time. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for the things we are learning today. Father, we know that there will be a way, but we don't know the way yet. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
